"Oh, thank you!" Meredy was happy to receive compliments on her cosplay, even if she had no idea what it meant. Quickie was perched on her shoulder, looking ever-attentive. She was quiet as she tried her best to tune in on what Albel was saying. These people... created his world? It was a game to them? That didn't sit right with her, but there was no time for that, because someone new was approaching them.

"Oh, hello!" Meredy greeted Fayt boisterously. "We are Albel's friends!"

The blue-haired man might have heard Sheena as he drew closer as she had turned to Ophelia, her eyes narrowed in righteous anger. Squeezing Albel's hand tightly, she said, "No! We are not made up! Our lives are not a game!" She shook her head violently before turning back to the man beside her. This was hitting a little too close to home for her.

"I don't care what these people say! You, me, none of us are Lifeless Beings for them to toy with or do as they wish!" Before she could say anything else, the stranger approached, and while Meredy greeted him warmly, Sheena's guard was put up and she took a protective step closer to Albel.

"Is this a friend of yours?"

"Leingod!" Albel had to admit, he was relieved -- no, happy -- to see the other man here. He tried to rein it in, reasoning that it surely was only a matter of it being convenient and essential to the success of the mision... After all, Fayt had apparently been bred for this. He had powers that, even to Albel, were rather intimidating.

He couldn't let Fayt know how much he'd actually missed him. The twerp.

Of course, before he could say anything else, Meredy had gone and opened her mouth with that ridiculous word. And Albel could feel his cheeks begin to burn. He looked away quickly, growling at Meredy, "Bite your tongue, worm!" It came out more embarrassed than anything...

To Sheena, he explained, "He is from my world."

.....Well that was certainly interesting. Fayt raises a brow at Meredy's words, and Sheena's protective.... no, affectionate place at Albel's side, holding his hand no less. All that topped off with Albel's blushing face told him something was definitely going on, but what? He hadn't a clue.

What he did know was that the whole scene playing out in front of him was plenty cute. There's a tiny, amused little smile on his lips in spite of all the confusion going around right now.

"Well I'd like to think I'm his friend, anyway.... I certainly consider him one of mine." The only difference was Fayt had never been shy about admitting it.

"I think the real question here is, who are you guys? You're Albel's friends..." And oh boy does he sound entirely too amused... or maybe pleased, when he says 'friends'. He crosses his arms, tilting his head slightly to level a questioning green gaze at the odd crew.

"But where'd you meet?" Here? In Gemity? No.... this picture seemed far, far too different from the Albel he'd seen not 30 minutes ago, ready to tear off and attack just about anyone in Arkives in his discomfort over the situation. It would take a minor miracle for him to suddenly decide to make friends with the locals here. None of them were comfortable enough here for that. Not to mention that woman's words... they struck home.

Ophelia shrank back from the anger for a moment, eyes-widening and pom shaking a hint. Then she seemed to realize Sheena wasn't mad at her--at least she hoped he wasn't. Still, things were happening too fast, and Ophelia sighed and moved to hide more against Vincent's chest, paws wrapped in her scarf.

Vincent would not claim he knew Albel well, but he was observant. Sheena's protectiveness was not surprising and the taller gunslinger was similarly angry. That others would consider everything they went through simply a 'game' or not real...

Then Fayt was arriving, and Vincent recognized him. Remembered him, from one of the first times he'd gone monster-hunting with Albel. Even if it was clear this version of Fayt did not remember or recognize them.

"We met on another world. Time moves differently there." Stepping up closer and keeping his voice low. As much for their group and Fayt solely as he could. "Friends is a complicated concept, but we are confirmed as allies and those who take interest in his well-being and safety." So yes--they were friends for certain.

Meredy didn't seem to either pay attention to or mind the reprimand. That was just Albel after all, right? She'll remain all smiles mixed in with the other heroes, and rocking back and forth on her heels as they spoke. No need to press the issue any more on her end, it was certainly obvious and easy for Fayt to understand what they were.

"Douutounmusuuimeru piditierusu... It is very complicated." Trust the engineer turned hacker on it.

Albel blushed harder to hear Fayt call him a friend... Figures. Soft-hearted, stupid, open-minded worm... He had to smile when Vincent spoke, though. Of course Vincent would know what to say.

Yeah, they were friends.

Mogdelina fluttered right up to Fayt, studying him curiously. "Fayt! You don't remember us...?" She frowned, then shook her head, pom swaying. "No, I suppose you wouldn't..."

"When we were separated, I was taken to another world, like Vincent said. You were there too, briefly..." Albel's voice quieted as he explained, remembering how Fayt and Nel had been turned to crystal. No, he couldn't be distracted by that now. "I've been there over a year now... and yet, for you, it's only been thirty minutes."

He frowned. It was more than a little frustrating. "Our enemy, Palitutu, had us trapped in a place full of strange portals, and one of them led here. I don't know how long it will last, but the other world -- Crystallis -- is still in danger. We need to get back to Airyglyph."

I'm not his friend. Ales rolled his eyes. He wasn't anyone friends, but he was here to fix things. He recognized Fayt from the time he used to live in Crystallis, but judging from his reaction, this was a world where he had never left.

"If you've seen a little creature my size and one of those," he jerked a thumb at the nearest Moogle. "We're after them. They must have opened another portal to escape."

"I... was?" Another world? Dimensional portals? Like the time gate? Being in a place he didn't even remember?

It all sounded outrageous, maybe, but at this point in time Fayt would probably believe just about anything, considering where they were standing to begin with.

As for Albel's 'Comrades'.... there wasn't much of a difference in that and friends, with the picture these people and Albel were painting for him, really. But as much as he might have pried a little at any other time, there clearly wasn't time enough for it.

So... business, then. He'd ask questions as they went, but Ales' question isn't going to get much of a helpful response as he shakes his head. "I'm afraid I wouldn't know even if I did see them-- everyone's in costumes here, even people closer to your size, and plenty of them have props. It's not going to be easy to find anyone here." He glances at each of their faces in turn, frowning a little in consideration, before nodding to Albel. "That Access terminal Maria activated-- it should still let us through. Them too, I think. But why Airyglyph? Is their target there?"

Seeing Ophelia's reaction, the ninja felt bad. Letting go of Albel's hand for a moment, she lay hers on the Moogle's head in a gentle, comforting manner. She shouldn't have yelled like that. The poor thing was scared enough already.

"Ophelia? I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled like that, but I don't like it when people try to force us to do things or control our lives and sometimes my mouth gets ahead of itself." Which spoke volumes about she was feeling about Palitutu. She gave the Moogle an encouraging smile. "I'm not mad at you, okay? I don't think I could ever be mad at you for anything." She stroked the Moogle's fur for a few moments before giving Vincent an apologetic look and returning to Albel's side and taking his hand again.

She knew why he wanted to go to Airyglyph, but this was his friend, so she remained silent so he could give his answer. Which, from what he had told her, would probably be difficult for him to give.

It was unfortunate that Fayt couldn't give them any more information, but a relief that he seemed agreeable enough to believe them. It did sound like a out-of-this-world kind of story, but... Meredy had become accustomed to being a part of those.

Of course, she had no idea what or where Airglyph was, but she seemed happy enough just to be there, balancing her furry friend on her head as she listened.

Albel shook his head. "I don't know -- I doubt it."

Why would Artemicion or Palitutu hop to the Eternal Sphere, anyway? If they could open portals at will, they could easily continue on from Gemity... right? Unless there were too many curious eyes... like the Heroes were dealing with now. Albel scanned the crowd again.

He wasn't sure how they would get to the Eternal Sphere without the use of the terminal, either. Maybe they could portal in, maybe they couldn't. It wasn't exactly clear what constituted a "real" world, after all. But Albel had been summoned to Crystalis. Eternal Sphere had become sentient enough for that.

"I need to get something -- something I would have gotten to fight Luther anyway," Albel admitted. "Our kingdom's strongest weapon. And... if you wished to accompany us... Well, I wouldn't stop you."

It was as much an invitation for Fayt as Albel would give... even if he kind of hoped the other man would have come anyway.

Ales crossed his arms and tapped his small foot, impatient to get going. Palitutu was just in their grasp, and she had to have been here, but he hated waiting for Albel and Fayt to work out a plan. It was so frustrating. Why did they have to talk so much?

He had no clue on the layout of the area, he was too small to be spotted in the crowd, so there went his plan to wander off and investigate. Mimi was hiding behind him, always too shy to go off on her own and talk to people. He was tired.

He pulled his hat downward. The hole was always a tad larger than his head, which wasn't a problem as long as he angled it properly, but during moments when he just wanted to be left alone, he could always hide inside it. Teensies were small enough that a hat that size wasn't too striking, and Ales counted it as a blessing as he curled up inside.

In the darkness of his hat, he could hear the muffled sounds of the crowd, yet the voices of those nearest to him remained clear. It was nice inside. Less stressful.
