Event || Revelations

Characters: All the Heroes of Light and their Moogles.
Where: Order's Sanctuary, The Interdimensional Rift and their Homeworlds.
When: August 03rd - August 30th

Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

Oh yeah? I'd probably be wearing something different now that I think of it.

[ He replied realizing that he's got his usual garbs on. Ones that were not made for the cold obviously. Then again he's rather used to wearing these kinds of clothing in the cold generally. It's not a good idea but whatever he made it work somehow.

Poor Rukia but she probably needed the moment just to enjoy herself. Yuri doesn't blame her for wanting to be happy and enjoying the moment. Of course, he's obviously aware that she's kind of on top of him. That's kind of weirdly awkward but he'snot going to make it anymore awkward than it is until she tried to draw a mustache on him and Yuri's hand came up to grab hers before she tried.]

Even if you're in a good mood, that permanent marker is not getting on my skin Shorty.

[ As he said that, he slowly sits up. ]

But it makes you look exceedingly distinguished!

[No it doesn't, and they both know it. She sighs, forced to surrender before the war had even begun. As he sits up, she falls awkwardly back onto his knees, but she doesn't seem to think anything is even remotely weird about this. They're friends. And once he lets go of her wrist, she puts the marker away and pushes herself off of his lap.]

I'm not certain any of the villagers here are able to see or hear me as I am.

[On her feet, she brushes some of the snow off of her shihakusho, though the warmth of her body has caused some of that snow to melt and soak her clothing. She shakes some more of the snow out of her hair before she reaches out for Yuri's wrist with both her hands to assist hauling him out of the snow and onto his feet.]

Perhaps you could request a separate room for Repede at the inn?

[She needs some privacy if she's going to bathe and change into something warm.]

Only to someone with a disturbing mind like you shorty.

[ He replied with a sigh as he continued to hold her off until she gives up on the attempted mustache. He's definitely not in the mood for round two. Even if round one was because of some weird time lapse he never got the answers for. Yuri just watched her blankly as she slid slowly to his lap and then off of it just as fast. Well there's more comfort in that. Can't say the large amount of physical contact is something he's used to. The girl sure took a lot of liberties when it came to touching him. Seriously. ]

Huh? What are you talking about?

[ He stared with a blank stare when she mentioned the villagers not being able to see her. How does that work anyway? The help was well needed since he was a bit frozen up to move too well. Once he's back on his feet, he pats the snow off of him as he glanced at the inn not too far from them. ]

We'll find another room at the inn. You go do your thing Shorty. We probably have to find something suitable for this weather too.

You haven't noticed?

[That surprises her. She's pretty sure she's phased through one or two walls while he was around, but maybe he just wasn't paying close enough attention and assumed she was just being stealthy. She puts a hand to her chest, her brows knit.]

I equipped my custom shinigami job before we left for the battle. I don't have enough experience with it to wear a false body, so at the moment, I exist only as a soul.

[She'd demonstrate, but there's nothing she can walk straight through except for him, and that would be extremely uncomfortable for Yuri.]

Hmmmm...perhaps I should steal something warmer as well.

[It's either that or run off with an elf's wallet.]

[ He didn't really pay attention. He was too engrossed in messing with her to do much in general. Yuri realized what she meant after a while when she knit her brows together. That definitely was a surprising experience if he payed attention in which he did not. ]

Right. I didn't notice, seeing how physical you seem. Is it really that special?

[ People walking through walls and stuff stopped phasing him after a while. ]

Sounds like a plan. Soul or not you don't seem any different Short.

[ He added as a matter of fact. ]

I didn't claim that it was special. But it does make it difficult for people without supernatural abilities to see me. You're a Hero of Light with multiple jobs equipped to your crystal, so I imagine it isn't difficult for you. The village's inhabitants, however, can neither see me as I am nor hear my voice.

[She gives his arm a jab.]

Therefore it's up to you to do several things that I cannot.

[Rukia pauses, looking thoughtful.]

Though I suppose if you're able to secure extra blankets and pillows, I could just as easily pass the night within the closet.

[It wouldn't be the first time she's resorted to this, and it likely wouldn't be the last either.]

I suppose I forgot that not everyone here has job classes. Guess you do got a point there but in any case, it's not that odd that I'm talking to thin air right?

[ He laughed a loud at her comment. Well, he didn't really think that certain jobs would work that way but good to know for his part. Yuri was still learning all the quirks of having different job classes equipped to him and such. ]

Right, like that's anything new.

[ He chuckled some at her words. Yuri always did things for her without really being bothered by her requests. She was his friend after all. ]

I could get you some extra blankets but you're not sleeping in a closet.

[ You sleep on the bed and he'll take the floor with Repede. It's the usual for him. ]

It's probably a little odd. You should be used to that by now, though.

[She slants a sly, mischievous grin at him, and starts forward to stagger awkwardly through the snow. She's freezing, and a chance to sit in front of a hot fire for a little while sounds really good right now. She glances back over her shoulder to stare at him with a flat look.]

Oh? Don't tell me you've decided to become chivalrous now of all times.

[She waves her hand to dismiss his objection.]

I did it all the time as a shinigami. I slept in Raven's closet on more than one occasion as well. You needn't worry for my comfort, I'll be fine.

I’m pretty used to odd things in general. It’s not surprising or anything really. I’m used to people staring at me weirdly.

[ He replied laughing aloud at her words. She was being her usual self. He didn’t seem to mind it as much. He’d rather they bicker than not. It just showed how strong their friendship had become. ]

I’m always chivalrous. What are you talking about? I can be a complete gentleman if I wanted to you know?

[ He replied grinning. ]

That’s the old man, and I’m not him so you’re not sleeping in the closet. End of conversation.

A complete gentleman? I'll believe it when I see it.

[There's no bite to her words, though. Just a sparkle in her eyes and a smile on her face.]

In any case, there's no sense arguing about it. You're not allowed to decide what I deem to be comfortable if you're just going to sleep on the floor. I can find someone else's closet to sleep in if necessary.

You’ll see it I’m sure.

[ He shrugged as he continued to take steps in the snow towards their designated location. ]

If it bothers you so much, Shorty, we can share the bed. I’m sure it’ll fit us both and Repede can have the comfortable floor.

[ Yeah he said it and that was that. ]

[Maybe someone else might have stammered and blushed. How inappropriate! Or perhaps told him that wasn't funny. Or delivered a stern lecture.]

[Rukia, however, touches her chin and thinks it over.]

I suppose that would work, if it's big enough.

[She's always been a very tactile person. Yuri knows this. Almost all of her friends do too. And Yuri's one of her best friends, so what's the difference between sleeping on a comfortable bed and sleeping next to each other on the ground in sleeping bags?]

[Besides, she's a ghost. It's not as if his reputation is in any danger.]

Thank you. It will be nice to warm up soon.

[ It's a good thing that she's his friend and not some other girl. He's surely to get hit or slapped for it. In any case, Yuri won't be dwelling on it for too long. He looks at her and waits for a reply for his proposition. ]

I'm pretty sure you don't take that much space. Flynn and I were fine with a single size bed, so I'm sure you'd be fine.

[ Let's not ask questions and put that out of context okay? He's not going to talk about it. It makes more sense to come to that agreement so he doesn't have to fight her for every little thing. ]

Pretty much. Hey look, we're almost there.

That's a relief. My hair is starting to frost.

[Getting wet from the snow and then refreezing is terrible for her ends! Once the inn is within sight, a playful flash of mischief lights up her eyes. Rukia doesn't even look at Yuri...she just starts sprinting across the snow, leaping through the drifts as best she can in her haste to get inside where it's warm. She does have one slight advantage, and that's being able to slip right through the wall in her ghostly form instead of relying on the door.]

[So that's where he'll find her if she beats him there, standing as close to the fireplace as she dares with her hands stretched out toward the flames to absorb as much warmth as she can.]

That won't do. It'll probably not comb well if we stick around too long.

[ Yuri watched as Rukia sprinted ahead in the snow. Eventually, he and Repede followed suit after her towards the inn. They were all having a good time. He might as well keep the good feelings while they still have it. It'd definitely be nice to be inside and warm. He knew that much.

Soon, he made his way to her with Repede and shaking his head at her. While she sits close to the fire, he talks with the front desk. He comes after her a few moments later with a key to their room for the evening. ]

You're sure a ball of energy today, Shorty.

Hmmmm... You may have a point. There's something rejuvenating about this place, I admit.

[She smiles as she turns in place, turning her backside toward the fire as she lightly runs her fingers through the spiked tips of her dark hair to rid herself of the melting snow and ice.]

I wonder what it is.

[The elves, meanwhile, are shooting confused looks at Yuri who appears to be talking to the fire and calling it 'shorty.' These new travelers sure seem odd! What holiday did they come from?]

Right?

[ He laughed a little as he starts for the stairs and hoping that Repede and Rukia will follow suit when they feel it's time. He doesn't really care about the people giving him funny looks. All they need to know is he's talking to someone and not the air. Not that they can see him or anything. ]

Huh?

[ He gives her a raised brow. He then turns to the elves that stared at him in confusion. ]

Something on my face folks?

[ He called rather loudly and obnoxiously to get their attention. ]

[The elves look at each other, tiny rosy mouths hanging open in 'o's of surprise. A few whisper to each other, conferring, before looking at Yuri once more.]

We're just worried that you might not be feeling so well. Why don't we fix you a hot cup of peppermint tea? You'll feel great after a good night's rest!

Yes you will!

[They all nod, the bells on their pointed hats jingling merrily. One of the elven children is regarding Repede with open curiosity, then smiles, and cheerfully loops a nice ornamental wreath around the hound's neck. There you go!]

[Rukia is laughing against her fist, her shoulders shaking.]

Perhaps you should ask them for a couple of bathrobes, unless you plan on sleeping in your wet clothes. I wouldn't recommend that.

[ He really doesn't get why they're staring at him so intensely, but then he remembers that Rukia can't be seen by normal people so he looks a little nutty talking to the air around him. Well, that certainly started out well for him. He sighs a bit as they started talking. ]

Can you make that two peppermint teas. I'll make sure to tip the front desk nicely and I'm pretty sure I'm fine for the most part, but thanks for worrying folks.

[ Yuri casually brushes off their response with a dismissive one of his own. The dog sniffed the child briefly before licking his face as a thank you for the wreath that is now on his neck. ]

Sure I'll do that. Hey, you mind adding a few bath robes the list too? We're kinda soaked.

[ Right, wet clothes. He forgot they were rolling around in the darn snow. ]

[The child giggles, then hugs Repede before skipping off to go decorate more trees. As for the rest of the elves, they don't even question Yuri for wanting two cups of tea, or two bathrobes. They just glance at each other, shrug, and tell him it'll be ready right away. Maybe he just really likes his dog. Rukia smiles, genuinely charmed by these people and the way they interact with Yuri who's a complete stranger. What a pleasant place!]

A cup of tea does sound nice. Thank you.

[She'd ask for a bath too, but that means one of them will have to be chased out of the room each time. As long as she has something dry to wear, Rukia's happy.]

[Rukia trails along behind Yuri and his elf guide who shows him to his room. There's no key; everyone trusts everyone here. Turning the knob and opening the door, it reveals the coziest room imaginable, the kind a child would see at their grandparents' house set aside for guests. There's a thick quilt draped over a bed, a hand-carved wooden dresser, Christmas decorations on the wall, and a heated brick at the foot of the bed to ensure extra warmth and comfort.]

'Here you are! What holiday are you from?'

[ Repede likes kids and that is never a surprise to anyone. He can handle them well. Rita and Karol are prime examples of that. It's good that they don't question him on the matter and yes maybe it is for his dog. It doesn't matter as long as they get what they want in the end. It's not like they'll spy on him when he's in his room fortunately. ]

Thought you could use something to warm yourself up besides a fire and a bath probably. We're going to be pretty sick if we don't get washed up soon too.

[ Well either way it doesn't matter. Bathes are important and they can take turns doing that too. Yuri looks around as they entered the room. Not too shabby to be honest. He likes it and has a strangely cozy feel to it. ]

Thanks a lot and not sure we're any holiday. Just a freelancer traveling around.

I suppose I could stand to exfoliate...

[Rukia could have done fine without the bath, but admittedly, it does sound nice. However, that definitely isn't something she intends to share.]

Would you like to go first? I can warm up by the fire until you've finished. Just send Repede down to fetch me and I'll come right up.

[The elves in the meantime are flabbergasted. Not from a holiday?! Excited murmurs abound. Is he from the human world? Did he like the presents he got last year? Is he looking forward to the Thanksgiving holiday? Better escape soon, Yuri, or he'll be up all night talking to curious elves.]

I'll tame the fire. You look like you need it more than I do. You can take Repede or Acrisius with you and send them my way when you're done.

[ He pushed instead. It was easier for her to get herself washed up than it was for Yuri. He was used to being well on the run and not bathing all the time but it wasn't like he rolled in the dirt. He was just covered in wet snow. ]

...

[ Maybe he shouldn't have said that so casually since that was what happened. This place must run differently and normal people aren't a thing. ]

C'mon let's head out before stuff gets worse. [ and a push and a nudge there. ]
