Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

Dude, we're not taking the stuff. We don't even have to go inside. I just wanna show you the tradition.

[Way to think like a thief, Duster. Aoi's not gonna straight up steal from these guys. He'd be a pretty shitty Santa if he did.

...he might steal a bite of marshmallow from his boyfriend, though, if only to get him to hurry it up.]

[Duster blinks. Oh, right, not every trip has to involve picking up random items hidden in the room. Don't blame him; he survived saving his world by taking food they found lying unguarded.

After Aoi takes his bite, Duster peels the entire marshmallow from the stick and shoves the whole thing in his mouth. With a quick shove back into the fire, the residual marshmallow burns off.]

Alright, alright. I won't take anything. [He hands off the stick to a nearby young elf that was marshmallow-less.] Let's go.

[Aoi leads Duster to the window to peer inside.]

See, it's full of stuff. That one's got a candy cane stickin' out.

[These lumpy Christmas socks are truly a sight to behold.]

C'mon, let's try the door. See if we can get a closer look.

[Yes, that doorway right over there, decorated so festively with sprigs of plants.]

[Huh. Candy. That's a normal thing to give to kids. Duster leans closer to the window to get a better look, not looking away even when Aoi nudges him to the door. Only when the angle doesn't allow him to see the stockings does he turn his head.]

Alright.

[They're just plant. Pretty plants for decoration. Wait...]

Are those leaves? How are they green in the winter? [He points up at the top of the doorway, where the mistletoe hangs.]

Oh. Huh, look at that.

[He's playing it casual. Mistletoe, whoever would have guessed? He glances up at it, then focuses back on Duster.]

They're evergreens, so they grow all year round. They're called 'mistletoe'. There's a Christmas tradition about them, too.

[He pauses for dramatic effect.]

Huh.

[They don't look like pine trees, but evergreens must be more varied that he thought. That must be why it's hanging on the door; while it might not be brightly colored, it's leafy in the winter. A reminder of the tenacity of life.

He turns his smile from the mistletoe to Aoi.] I'm not surprised. What's the story?

[Aoi leans closer to Duster.]

Well, they say if two people are standing under the mistletoe together, they gotta kiss one another. Otherwise, they're both cursed with bad luck or something like that. People hang it up in doorways and big party rooms and stuff, just to see what happens.

[He kind of hovers there, almost nose to nose with Duster. They don't want maybe-bad luck, right?]

[Those brown eyes widen, shocked at the sudden change in plans, dart at the mistledown, then down to Aoi's eyes. Duster feels Aoi's warm breath on his cheek in the cold air. Or it could all the blood rushing to his cheeks, who knows?]

Anywhere we want? [There's no one looking this way, but Duster checks out of the corner of his eye just to be sure. A hand rests on Aoi's shoulder and he leans in.]

Yeah, anywhere you want.

[Who's gonna see? Elves? They don't care, and if you believe the stories about Santa and his elves always watching to know if you're naughty or nice, it's nothing they've never seen before.]

[mindofathief]

[What kind of perverted elves would watch them be naughty? All-knowing beings of kindness should know when things are meant to be private, like now as Duster closes his eyes and presses his lips against Aoi's.

His hand slides over his shoulder and onto his back, allowing Duster a better hold on his boyfriend to nudge him closer.]

[You don't know about what kinda sick pervs those elves are, man. But that's not gonna stop Aoi from returning the kick, or letting Duster yank him closer. Hopefully nobody tries to get in or out of this doorway for a bit. It's officially blocked.]

[The sanctity of the mistletoe must be preserved; all must put their tasks on hold and wait for the couple to finish kissing. Seeing that it's the end of summer, the elves aren't at their busiest and wont passively aggressively try to get them to hurry up.

Aoi's chest bumps into Duster, knocking their lips closer. The sudden movement heats up something inside him, urging him to do something more with this position. He satisfies that need by parting his lips and closing them around Aoi's upper lip. It tastes cook. Like marshmallow. Imaginary cinnamon.]

[Look at Duster, being all aggressive. Aoi likes it. He hums and turns his head up to give Duster free access. His arms slide over Duster's shoulders to keep him close.

This is way more than most people give for mistletoe kisses, so kudos to Duster for getting behind this particular tradition so enthusiastically. Aoi mentally congratulates himself for being the genius who dragged Duster over here.]

[They have been running from world to world for weeks. There was little opportunity for the two to spend quality time together. If this is their last opportunity for a good kiss, now is the time.

Duster winds up kissing Aoi a few more times before pulling back with a sigh.]

...That was good.

Mmmmmh. [When Duster pulls back, Aoi leans forward to steal one more kiss. For the road.]

Ok, yeah. We better be careful, or we're gonna end up on the naughty list. [His grin as he says it suggests he wouldn't mind that too much.]

[mindofathief]

[Any other time, Duster would get nervous at Aoi's comment. He blames the spirit of Christmas for letting him laugh instead.]

I'm sure that can wait.

[He lets go of Aoi and looks out at the town.] We should get going, anyway.

So, raincheck on the naughty list. I can live with that.

[But yeah, it's been a nice break, but they should probably move on to the next world.]
