Event || Revelations

Characters: All the Heroes of Light and their Moogles.
Where: Order's Sanctuary, The Interdimensional Rift and their Homeworlds.
When: August 03rd - August 30th

Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

"Maybe," Kyo agreed, giving the iron ball a toss up and down. "But if something else happens, better to have something to chuck at it." Besides, considering how tense the air in here could get with potential traps, he could use the minuscule distraction...

But seeing the attention swinging towards the notebooks--a verbal "Bingo" being the best hint--Kyo abandoned the desk he'd been scanning (and the shot put) and headed over to the other pair. Glad to see Johnny was at least recovering.

"She didn't write any of this in code did she?"

Reno caught the notebook and flipped it open, skimming as he turned the pages. Only a few were full.

"Looks like this is the most recent one. Dates go down t' around when she disappeared, otherwise there'd be more here. And I think we're in luck." He held it up for the others to see. While most of the page was covered with numbers and equations, with a few symbols thrown in, the little text there was in bullet-points was easy to read.

"Whether she didn't bother, or Atia's translatin' it anyway, it's all right here." He didn't recognize all the symbols, but most were involved in the equations, so he wrote it off as "smart people" science shit. Not necessary for him to know. The notes, though vague, spoke more to him about what was actually going on.

"These ones, these dates -- they're sorta describing what we're lookin' for, yo. Size measurements, color, weight an' opacity... She's definitely got the idea that it's magic, since I got it from a goddess." He tapped the page, then looked over toward the desk. "Looks like you had the right idea, Kyo. She might have it in 'er desk, or at least somethin' else useful. It was the last project she was workin' on."

The equations didn't make a lot of sense to her on first sight, but it seemed like the sort of thing that might come in handy at some point.

"So we know it's definitely here, at least," K'pandolu put in, and nodded. "Let's focus on the desk for now, then." She turned around to go back to the desk, and look for any compartments where the materia might be hidden.

Kyo listened to the update and peered at the notebooks, though he didn't try to read over Reno's or others' shoulders. It'd come in time, right? Once Reno held up the book, he stepped back slightly to give the rest room to look. Looked like a bunch of math stuff to him, minus the bullet points.

An orange brow arched when he got singled out, but grinned afterwards and gave a casual (cocky) shrug. "Hey someone had to get it right." They all couldn't be looking in the wrong spot. Though remembering what happened to Johnny, Kyo looked at the desk with a slight apprehension.

"So... uh... who wants to start opening drawers?" he asked, kind of trying to insinuate to K'pandolu that it might be dangerous to just start poking around it willy nilly.

"Maybe we should, like, get a stick or something to pull them open with from a distance. Who's got a pool cue?"

Johnny was a tough guy, but the face full of fireworks was really unpleasant, even more so than the shotput.

Mary observed the notebook over the shoulders of the others. Her curiosity briefly itched for a turn at the book to see what secrets it might hold, all before she reminded herself that they likely had little to offer as far as the mysteries of either world she'd call home. Whatever this world held, it was likely best left alone. The last thing they needed were the deities of this world following them back to Crystallis.

Glancing at the desk she stepped forward. "I'll have a look. I think I'm well equipped for this." She had her ninja and thief skills on hand, so a bit of breaking and entering were in her wheelhouse at the moment. She glanced at her sonic screwdriver, turning it over in her hand. Jack said it wouldn't work on wood, but a lock or traps perhaps? And she didn't have a lockpick or tools with her, and her hidden blade might be a tad too rough for this.

Kneeling in front of the drawer she raised the device and pressed the button, the green light and whirring beginning again as she focused it on the lock. "So then...Let's see how this works..."

After a moment of Mary's concentration, the whirring of of the Sonic Screwdriver was interrupted by a click as the lock's mechanism was released. The drawer slowly slid open on its own, the green marble in question rolling into view.

However... something else was released as well. With a soft hiss, a light pink gas began pouring from the keyhole. Further examination of the inside of the drawer would reveal a series of tubes and wires connecting vials of liquid up to the inside of the lock. It would appear that the correct key inserted into the lock would have blocked the circuit, but releasing the lock alone triggered the true trap.

Reno had been in the process of reaching triumphantly for the materia when he noticed. "Oh shit..."

Johnny backed up from the desk in a hurry.

"Oh shit is right. What was that? Poison 'r something?" And Mary was right there when it went off. That's not good.

"Kidd, you okay?"

Kyo snorted in wry amusement. "I'm good for the stick," he shot off as he gave the cabinets wary glances. They other choice was just going straight at them and all but... "Might be better off finding a broom or something." He'd rather not get some kind of anvil falling down on his head for bothering to open a door or some other trap.

But when Mary went for the desk, Kyo quickly slipped to the side, putting a bit of distance between himself and the furniture. Just in case it exploded or something. "Be my guest," he murmured, wondering what "equipped" meant. And that strange device again... He frowned as Mary knelt before the drawer. "Hey, maybe something in front of your face?" Too late; she was already working on it and his curiosity went to the tool in her hand.

Click.

Kyo tensed a bit at the sound, but when the drawer opened and nothing seemed to happen for a second, his hackles went down--Gas! "Get back!" he yelled, retreating from the desk, one hand coming up to cover his face. The scent of the gas was already touching his senses and he cussed.

"Don't breathe, Kidd!" That was her name, right? "Just grab the the marble and bolt!"

K'pandolu turned to watch Mary working, and jerked back when the trap was triggered. "Alchemists," she growled. Oh, certainly they were useful, at times, but this kind of thing that could do without. There weren't any immediately obvious sources of fabric, so she went for her pocket instead, trying to pull a piece of spare fabric out to hold for the nearest person. "Get the door- that should help." She thought she could smell whatever it was, and hoped the fresh air might counteract that.

As an Assassin, a gas trap was nothing new to the pirate. She recoiled as she saw the puff, pulling her sleeve across her face, but as close as she was when the trap went off of course a little of it got past her reaction. She tumbled back from the desk, coughing as she pulled herself into a crouch.

The materia had been left behind in her haste, but that was far from the chiefest of her concerns. She waited a moment to feel the telltale burn or pain of poison but instead she felt...warm. She could feel a heat and a tingling building up inside her. And then it began to spread and...

Her eyes went wide as she felt it begin to take effect, shooting an accusing glance at Reno. "You can't be serious..."

Reno wasn't about to leave that materia behind, even if -- especially if -- they'd all been dosed right now. He needed it. It's what they came all the way out here for in the first place.

And they had been dosed.

The scent of the gas was sweet, and it warmed as it coursed through the body. It left a giddy sensation in its wake... then the tingling rush of arousal and heat. Reno stumbled forward to grab for the materia, his fist closing around the cool sphere. He glanced back at Mary over his shoulder and licked his lips. "Yeah... guess so."

As the gas began to affect the others, they would realize it was not a poison, per se, but an aphrodisiac.

It took Johnny a few moments as he backpedaled away to realize that, thankfully, no one had been poisoned. But, something had happened, and he looked from person to person in confusion before the sensation reached him as well.

"What? What're you talkin' ab--"

He took a few more steps back, finally catching on.

"You've gotta be kidding me. We... we need to get outta here. Now."

Not that he had any idea where they were supposed to go.

Kyo had no real ability to get back any more than the rest of them had. If it weren't for their situation, he might've snirked at K'pandolu's growled comment. Though what the hell was she doing getting a cloth out of her pocket for?! A ninja mask wasn't going to help that much when it was already filling the room! Yeah, the door would help but which was was it again? And why couldn't they make for the window?! Everyone moving around all at once didn't help things either.

And of course the damn marble that started all of this got left in the stupid desk. Kyo snarled and shoved forward, intending to go grab the thing. Why the hell not? They'd already been gassed and he knew from experience this wasn't some kind of poison. Atia was far too focused on her sick little games to do something so wasteful and "pointless" as that. But he stopped when Reno beat him to the desk and ended up straightening up with a small scowl.

The heat bloomed fast through his body and he swiftly tucked an arm around himself with a muttered cuss. "Trust me," he droned, his voice already starting to thicken a little. "She's very serious." This was the kind of shit they had to live through in this island. Red eyes flicked over to Johnny's reaction and he nodded.

"Let's get the hell out of here before this room turns into an damn harem!" At least if they could get outside, and maybe some fresh air, they could make some kind of plans before the room become a hedonistic orgy.

For a moment, it looked like their fingers might brush... but then Kyo was pulling away, and Reno was disappointed. It only had a little to do with the drug now coursing through his blood, but that certainly didn't help him. He really wanted to touch someone.

Maybe more.

"I guess..." he sighed (albeit lustily) and moved toward the door with the others. As tempting as it was to just give in, he knew they were right -- they needed to go, before they all did something they'd regret. Maybe. At the least, it would leave them vulnerable to any other traps in here. It didn't stop him from snaking one arm around Kyo's waist and the other around Johnny's, nipping Kyo's ear with a playful growl.

It was perhaps best for all that Minfilia was at the door, hurriedly ushering them out and fanning them for fresh air.
