Returning favours of other is what Selen did best at, so not so long after the other blond started her mission, Selen came into the scene to give a hand. After all, rescuing civilians wasn't as hard as fighting the nuisances that were in their way. She wanted to go do that but she was searching for someone, thus finding Zelda was pure luck. She decided to give a hand anyway as she ushered a few of the younger adults in Zelda's direction.

Selen had her sword out, prepared to hack at anything that tried to harm defenseless humans. She turned her head back to greet the other girl with a bright smile, "We meet again, Zelda was it?" she chimed.

Her sword swung down in an arc as Selen approached. "Yes." She smiled but it only lasted a moment before her stance is regained and her eyes are set towards the hordes of monsters looking to attack those trying to escape. The soldiers seemed kind enough to leave those running alone but the monsters showed no such restraint.

"Thank you for coming to help. I know you just arrived."

Selen had nothing to gain by helping them but Zelda was grateful for the help.

It's the first time she's seen Zelda in action and she's pretty intrigued by the girl's fighting style. Well, the more capable people are, the easier this job will be. She was grateful that Zelda knew how to defend herself as most people seem to be here.

"It's quite alright. It's a little fun here and there. Plus, these nasties need to be taught a lesson for trying to hurt innocent people."

She chimed slashing another one in half as quickly as she said those words. Selen didn't, but it was the matter that she held high regards to her duty. She was a former General, so protecting people was the typical thing to do.

Zelda's skill have improved significantly since she arrived in this new world. She felt stronger and faster than she ever had at home and while Kopula tried to explain the job system Zelda assumed it was some effect of the crystal. All of her forms were remembered from her teachings at the knight academy and while she didn't graduate, she was a top student.

She side stepped keeping her stance perfect as she brought her sword down at the monster heading towards them. She was grateful that they were weak if only because they were coming in such astonishing numbers. Her eyes darted around the area for a moment before landing back on Selen. She was happy to have someone fighting with her though she didn't much care for the bloody act.

"Lets try to drive them back. Away from the civilians." Zelda didn't want others getting to close to the fighting only to become casualties.

Selen was impressed needless to say. She's got even more respect for the girl that she can fight well. Selen continued to take down what she could while watching Zelda's back. Galahad told her to be careful of how she used her abilities here, since it's not the same as at home. Selen was a lot more restricted than she thought originally, but she was starting to get some of her strengths back.

Selen diced another one that was jumping at them. It seemed like they were just endless. She managed to get a few of the residents to move as fast as they could out of the scene she could use more powerful moves. Selen didn't believe in catching innocent people in the crossfire.

"Sounds like a plan. I'm making sure they're staying behind us or moving quickly out of our way. That way we don't have to worry about them getting caught in the crossfire."

Selen dashed forward to throw some of the beasts back.

"Right!" Zelda followed. It was easy to fight next to Selen and she could see the skills that the woman possessed. She was happy to have such a seasoned fighter with her. As much as Zelda trained and knew her sword she wasn't accustom to battle. The sights made her stomach turn and while each slice of the sword was decisive it left her feeling weak knowing that she was ending these creatures lives.

She stepped forward the two driving back the creatures so that they were further from the crowd who fled to safety. It wouldn't take much longer for the trail to end and for those evacuating to be a safe distance from the city boarders.

Zelda wasn't bad herself. She had potential to be much better with some more training but Selen could tell that she was still good at what she did either way. The world where they made sure everyone had to fight to save others is pretty cliche to Selen, but she's not arguing against it really. She continued to swing her arms swiftly with Zelda as backup. She hoped the monsters were going to disperse knowing they had little power against two women who obviously knew their way around sword fighting.

Selen jumped ahead to drive the monsters back even further as Zelda was doing that. She wanted to ensure that things will work out and that no one will be hurt.

"Good Job!"

The two fell into a rhythmic dance as they fought off the waves of creatures. Zelda was surprised to see Selen hold her ground so firmly since she was new to this world. She wondered what sort of life she had lived before now and if her power change wasn't a significant loose or gain. Zelda was still getting used to her new strength but her skills were sharp. At times she swung to hard and her balance shook slightly taking her a moment to regain her footing.

"To your left." Zelda spoke calmly turning away to face a creature that had swung wide around them to try and sneak up on the pair. She didn't know what these creatures were but they knew some strategy in fighting.

Selen life had always been the battlefield. She also faced a lot of concerns, being one of the only few female generals to make it to the top. She was well respected and well rounded with the sword. Of course, none of that really mattered here since she had no intention of bragging of her own position with people. After all, she's more or less retired from being the general she was. On top of that, she was adjusting to new magical abilities.

"Gotcha," she mused, swiftly turning around and dicing the monster as it got close enough to her face. The carcass smashed into the ground with a loud them as the head was lopped of. She pushed at Zelda a bit to get her out of the way of the incoming one that Zelda probably didn't see like she didn't sensed the other creature that came at her.

Zelda's footing faltered at Selen's push and it took her a moment to regain her balance. It was dangerous but she stepped back and used the time to cast protect and shell on the both of them. It would mitigate some attacks and while they were both skilled they were still vastly out numbered.

"Stand back." Her voice rang clear as she held out her palm and gathered the spell of light that shined through her petite form. "Holy"

Light burned through the nearby creatures finishing off those close to them and giving them a moments breath before the next wave would appear. Zelda had hoped that would have finished them off but she has no illusions about the current state of the city.

Selen's sword came slashing at the beast that snuck up on them in a matter of seconds, splashing the ground beneath them with yet another bloodied, headless corpse.

She turned over to the girl when she helped protect her from harm.

Selen stepped back carefully as Zelda gathered power in her hand. In a matter of seconds the monsters that were left were evaporated with the spell. Selen smiled.

"Good job there. That's one' kicking spell you got there!"

Zelda gave the woman a quick nod and a confident smile.

"I was able to learn it here with time. Even though we wake up weakened there are strong spells that we can learn here as well." Her smile faded as she took a few steps down the now empty street. There would be another wave and another but for now there was a lull.

"We should split up. There might be other areas teaming with monsters. Can you heal?" Zelda's eyes glanced back at Selen keeping her guard up and her focus sharp.

"I see. I hope to get a strong as you with the magic that you use," she chimed cheerfully. Selen was indeed very fascinated with her magical abilities. Here, it didn't seem like people lack the ability to use such things-- herself included of course. Selen was starting to get used to playing with the magic and all that on her own accord. At least, for now she could learn from Zelda.

Selen checked around the surrounding premise for anything else that wanted to invade. So far, she didn't see much, which made it easier for her.

"Sounds like a plan. I think we'll cover more ground that way. If you get in trouble, shoot that magic of yours into the sky and I'll come running," she chimed chuckling a little. She seemed so carefree.

"Not at the moment, but I got those healing items they offered at the stores and don't worry about me."

Zelda smiled. "Right then. Be safe." With that she turned and ran off towards the fight. She was going to keep fight and keep moving forward.
