Terra
She wasn't sure of anything yet, the changes of this place leaving her questioning everything about herself but even so she felt herself being pushed forward. Maybe it was because of what Bartz had told her or maybe because of the kind faces who greeted her when she first awoke?
Either way, there had to be something she could do. She held a thin wooden staff in her palm bringing it before her as she began to cast water over the raging flames. It was a slow effort but she focused on the powers she had at her disposal to fuel her efforts and lessen the flames that threatened the city. Her focus was pulled away from the happenings around her as she stood casting.
\o/
Bartz tugs his spear free from the unfortunate bat, and flashes a grin at Terra.
"You okay?"
Resting the spear on his shoulder he walks over to her.
"You gotta be careful if you're gonna be out here on your own."
\o/
"Yes."
Her blue eyes were clear as she worked watching as Bartz flashed her a charming smile.
"I didn't.. think. Tempest is guiding people away from the fires."
no subject
Despite knowing him only a short while, Bartz already has a lot of trust for his moogle. If only that trust went both ways....
He looks over the fires and then back to the chaotic fighting.
"Those fires look pretty nasty. You just keep doing what you're doing, okay? I'll watch your back."
Taking a defensive stance, he flips the spear around into a ready position.

Spotting someone taking out the fire she moved in quickly when she noticed a warrior trying to walk up behind them to attack, but instead found Kairi slashing at them with her sword, causing them to sumble for the meantime.
Looking over for a brief moment she smiled. "Nice to see you again Terra. Keep up the good work, okay? I'll deal with this guy." She turned her head back to the guy, gripping her sword preparing for a fight and giving them enough time hopefully to deal with the fires.

“Okay.” She will keep up her casting but she can’t help but cast worried glances over to Kairi. She only knew the girl a little bit but she didn’t want anything happening to her.
Terra watched Kairi move noting her skill with the sword before casting once more at the flames.

Ib
As soon as the airship
landedgot them to the city, Ib knew the first thing they had to do was put out the fires. The water spell she cast washes over the flames, putting some of them out. But there's still so many more...Determined, she moves along to the next patch of flames and starts casting again. But it's only a matter of time before the soldiers close in on her. She could probably use some help.
no subject
So all she had to rely on was her Black Mage abilities and the fact she had Watera at the time. She wondered if that was a good thing she had just recently learnt it. Bloom came running, using another Watera spell to attack the soldiers that had been close by, hoping to help. When she got close she stood in front of the other, her sword drawn and ready for action.
"I'm here to help. If you keep putting out the fires. I'll hold these guys off, okay?"
no subject
“Thanks. Let me know if you need help though.”
She goes back to casting, slowly pushing back the flames. Some of the soldiers have noticed her efforts though, and a small contingent is closing in.

Sephiroth | [Open to those who need a tank?]
But others were not so lucky. Comrades shot, burned or simply cut down along that initial line of defense forced Sephiroth, along with many others, back as the Imperial invasion continued. It felt sooner than he would have liked, or expected, as the familiar ache had returned to his hand and exhaustion began to creep around the edges of the latest potion he had taken. At least Spencer must have gotten away somewhere safe by now; even if that were the farthest thing from Sephiroth's mind.
The Coliseum- how far he had been forced to retreat? A fleeting glance around and he guessed it was around early afternoon. He'd been fighting for over 12 hours already but who was keeping time? The swarm of activity around the building called his attention to it's position. A light smoke already spilled into the air from one side of it, but there were other buildings close on the other side - the fire wouldn't stop if it hit those buildings. The whole City, with thousands of innocents, could perish. Sephiroth swallowed the burning in the back of his throat, coughed once more to clear his breath and charged into the fray.
He might have strands of silver hair singed significantly shorter, part of the tall tail of it that pulled up and through his Dragoon helmet, underneath his armor his body might be starting to ache as well, but he clenched his grip around Masamune and carried on.
Jump-d again right into the nearest cluster of Black Mages, Crescent Moon later and their latest casting was interrupted and they spread out away from him so that the Warrior's could do their job. Slash, cut, slice - the dervish is all that Sephiroth had become. It was the closest anyone might come to seeing a sliver of what his full potential had been back on his own world. Knowledge and skill working so expertly hand in hand.
poor tank needs a buff or three, doesn't he?
The ground shook under the feet of a cluster of troopers, knocking a couple off their feet in the process.
"Did you miss me, old friend?"
thank ye kindly!
His latest sword strike down over his head finished off the last Warrior before him as Genesis had destabilized their footing- only then did the silver-topped Warrior spot the unmistakable glint of red Rapier in between the bodies which was soon followed by a familiar voice over the chaos. Then all made sense once more as -yet again- Spirit Surge was cast around himself while Sephiroth recovered his stance. A stitch wanted to flare up underneath his armor at one side but stubborn to the last Sephiroth would ignore it.
"I hadn't expected you might be the one to come."

Sephiroth | [Open to those who need a tank?]
"Take this." Her soft voice rang over the chaos as she held out a potion for the silvered haired soldier. She was comfortable even amiss the chaos of the fires and mages set to burn the city to it's ground.
Terra focused on his hair for a moment, the sliver gleam ringing through her clouded memory.
Sephiroth | [Open to those who need a tank?]
Sephiroth had taken to a knee, the latest wave of enemies dispatched having caused a lull in his activity which only drew his growing lethargy back into the foreground of his consciousness. How long had he been fighting for now? Truth be told, he had lost track of even which day it was. Beneath his armor, it seemed that even muscles he hadn't known existed had learned how to throb almost painfully. It wouldn't be long til the next attack...he needed to get back on his feet...
A small voice to his side turned his helmeted head to follow it and he spotted the potion before having the arm lead it up to Terra. The embers of the fire all around cast a strange glint through her green hair - a color that wasn't common at all where he was from.
"Thanks-" He managed to grunt, finally lifting the Dragon-styled faceplate up enough to take the potion, uncork it and swallow it back in two thristy gulps. The heat of the battle, not to mention the fires, shone in the sweat his face nearly dripped with. His eyes gleamed more noticeably in the gloom than they would usually, as he looked again to Terra as the cool, soothing rush of a potion swept through him.
"-keep alert. The waves of them are getting more frequent."

Off Tank has arrived!
And if Cloud hadn't been watching from his vantage point, he might not have seen the black mage crouched behind a statue preparing a spell for a sneak attack. The magitek knight rushed in to the bloody battlefield, to late considering that he might be confused for the enemy. It didn't matter.
Sliding in between the mage and Sephiroth, Cloud held his gunblade aloft as the lightning spell crackled through the air. "Runic!" His skill redirected the spell into his own sword and he absorbed its energy. "General! I'm here! I have your back!"
no subject
Though, caught in the flurry that Sephiroth was -it was a good job he hadn't activated Assault right then- it was only by a hairsbreadth that Masamune was stopped from immediately being swung next in Clouds direction; he did look like just another Heran just then. Sephiroth had just managed to abort and jump in his stance away from full-on swinging for the boy, the blade singing over the top of Cloud's head.
"Fool." He scolded harshly, but no other comment was made -no time to even notice that Cloud had pretty much just saved his ass. Enemies were rushing from further along where Sephiroth were facing and he charged right in; he couldn't afford to stop.

Jade
As the battle stretched out and the night turned into a day, Jade had no reservations about shouting orders at the Esdham soldiers while he focused on casting water spells on the burning buildings. The fact he wasn't a superior officer was not raised -- there simply was no time to. The waves of Imperial soldiers were relentless, and more than once Jade was forced to halt his casting to defend himself. His Dragoon abilities would keep him alive, but time spent fighting meant less time putting out fires.
Jade
His movements were slower than he was accustomed to, but the defenses of his armor more than compensated for any losses. But, amidst the coordination and strategy that the enemies seemed to be using, it was clear that he couldn't simply act on his own.
no subject
Jade jumped, quick enough to avoid a bullet to the head -- yet not quite quick enough to escape unscathed. He hissed at the sharp pain in his side. A Charge Shot, by the feel of it. He had little choice but to ignore the wound for now, as the Gunner was already joined by another Warrior, blocking Jade's path to the ranged enemy. Tricky.
Hibiki Ganaha
Hibiki Ganaha has made her way to the Coliseum. This isn't where she wants to be, but she's been separated and people are in danger here. It doesn't matter. She's been practicing for this, she can do this. She has all the tools of an archer and a beast master at her side, and that's why people don't even notice her.
Aim. She's firing from so far away that people can't even see her.
But as soon as her minute is up the spell breaks and she's on the move. A hamster leaps into the air from her shoulder and begins casting.]
Hamuzou, Watera! Aim for the fires!
[And by then, she's readied an arrow and is looking for her next fight. A dog runs at her side, ready to Protect Hibiki whenever needed.
Her heart is racing. So far, so good. Aim has left her disabling soldiers instead of killing them, but she can't play the role of Sniper forever, even with a Moogle and a dog protecting her.]
Everyone! Keep it up! Say it with me!
[Inumi barks. Hamuzou cries out. Kathy and Hibiki say the word at the same time:]
Nankurunaisa!
no subject
Well, it's fun when there's not an actual war going on and civilians under threat.
Seeing Hibiki extinguishing fires, Johnny lends a hand by watching her back, keeping the enemy troops at bay. He finally managed to fight off enough to catch his breath for a moment.]
Say what now?
no subject
[She has no time to do anything other than put out fires, to subdue soldiers before they get too close to her.
But she's willing to make an exception here.]
It means "everything'll be okay in the end!" It means that things are going the right way. It's from my home...
[And the wind whistles as Hibiki fires an arrow. Like all of her other arrows, this one pierces the armor of the soldier. She's glad she can't see the blood, that she's further away, but that should stop him.]

Hibiki Ganaha
Hey! Be careful. This isn't a place for pets.
[She is sure that Hibiki can handle herself and while her words sound a little sharp she means to say: I don't want them getting hurt.
Yuffie is used to war and doesn't miss a beat as enemies move around them. She flicks her shuriken from her hand and lets it fly through the air easily catching it while keeping her eyes on her roommate.]
If you're an archer than stay further back. [She points up to a roof top which gives ample view of the surrounding area.]
no subject
[And to emphasize her point, Hamuzou casts another water spell on the fires. She follows where Yuffie is pointing, though, and...
...on top of a roof?!]
Y-you can't be serious! If I'm up there, I'll be wide open, won't I? What's gonna stop everyone from seein' me!
