MarKus took the opportunity to actually takes weapons away from the soldiers as they were laid out and down. He'd take the time to check out what manner of metal it was later but it all looked to be plain-ass steel.

"Probably, they're all wearing the same shit." A soldier caught his long-handled hammer to the gut, a hit strong enough to knock the armor inward and knock the breath OUT of him. And he took his helmet too for good measure.

Taking one of the soldier's swords he jams it into the ground and gives the hilt a hammer in for good measure. "Whatever we do, we meet up here. Got it?" He couldn't expect them to stay together in this chaos, but at least they'd have a way to know they all made it out of things fine.

Yuffie was already to far away to hear anything that MarKus said. She wasn't interested in picking anything up except for the change that she found whens he got close enough to pick pocket a targer. Her blade circled through the air as she ran and jumped up to meet it using walls and buildings to propel herself higher.

From the sky she got a good look at the chaos engulfing the city and she couldn't help but cringe at the sight. She landed on in a low crouch before swinging her blade at the soldiers that approached her sides. She looked back at the group and shouted over the chaos.

"It's the whole city. It's burning."

"Oh, no..."

Those were the only words Guy could utter when he looked up and saw the smoke billowing upwards into the sky. He pulled his blade free from one of the enemy soldiers, not even caring about the mess that was being left behind. His thoughts were on one thing alone:

He had friends in there.

Sheathing his blade, he cast a look at the rest of the group. "We've got to see if anyone needs our help," he said.

He'll go on his own, if he had to.

Rika gasped at Yuffie's words. Sure they saw smoke, lots of it, but she didn't think it would be because they've set fire to the town. She'd never been here before so it could have been from fireplaces or something, even though it wasn't really cold here.

She agreed right away with Guy. "Yes, and quickly! Fire can spread very easily!" She didn't know anyone here, but that didn't stop her from wanting to protect people. She started to run towards the direction of the fire, showing no fear despite the danger that seemed to surround them.
