Characters: All the Heroes of Light participating in the event.

Summary: A letter from Artemicion calls the Heroes of Light for help! Little do they know that they will inadventenly become trapped in the Magitek Facility. The OOC Post for detailed explanations can be found here.

Wh-- Oh. Alright then, uh, I guess this is how we're doin' this.

[Sparks has no idea what a Gunblade is. To him, that's just a goofy-looking sword. He runs in, fists at the ready to knock this guy's weapon from his hands when he's suddenly hit with a bullet in the chest. His armor stops it from going too far, but it still hurts quite a bit. He stumbles back, just barely managing to keep on his feet, and looks utterly surprised.]

--You shot me? With-- huh? I...That's cheating.

[Cloud had heard rumors of such weapons used by some parts of the military, but he had never seen one before. His eyes go wide as he hears the gunshot and sees Sparks stagger.

He turns, glaring at the man before them and plants his feet. His robe flares as energy surges and he lets loose as strong a flame as he can. Momentarily, he seems drained, but Cloud seems to be doing much better than he did in the fight against the Chocobo Eater. With the spell cast he looks to Ashe, his expression shifting from anger to worry.]

Can you heal him?

"Its a good thing that this only need to do half as much work. Blind!"

It felt good to hex once more. Henry struck a dramatic pose, hand outstretched, letting the deep
purple energy of his dark knight class flow down his arm and out towards the colonel.

[The young ninja jumps back, holding her blades in front of her as a shield. She has an idea but she needs him to be distracted first. She throws a blade towards the generals hand and then sidesteps behind Henry.

Yuffie controls the volume of her breathing while trying to stay out of sight. She might just be able to surprise him, if she is lucky.]

Ashelia nodded at Cloud's question as she readied herself for battle. "When necessary. Leave that to me." And then, so that both Henry and CLoud could hear her, "Keep him distracted. Communication is most important; ask for ether if you run out. Let's give Yuffie the opening she's looking for, yes?"

She then cleared her throat, advancing on their opponent to stand beside Sparks. "Marshal, if we are to stand victorious over our foe, we need to communicate, just like on the plateau. If you need me to heal you, simply tell me so, yes? The Corporal and I will cover you as best we can." Though the queen was clearly itching to get up close and personal with their attacker, she held back for the moment.

Ashelia sheathed her sword and jumped backwards, extending her free hand towards Deweg while keeping her shield between them. "Thundara!" A bold of lightning arced from the tips of her fingers, speeding towards the Colonel. The difference in power from a regular Thunder spell was quite noticeable; she couldn't help but smile as she felt that power flow through her.

[ This Colonel is just a human, so obviously much less resistant than the Chocobo Eater was. All three attacks hit him, Cloud's fire spell, Henry's dark knight skills and Ashe's Thundara. The successive attacks throw him back, he grunts and steps back. It's obvious the Heroes are a bit too numerous for him to handle. He takes some distance from the heroes of Light.

In quick succession he casts two defensive spells: Runic first, that will negate the next magical attack cast against him and use its powers to heal him. Firewall then, that will automatically cast a fire spell on whoever attacks him afterward. He then stares at the heroes as soon as the distance between them is safe enough, his gunblade lowered. ]

Very well. If you surrender now, I promise to let you live.

[ This may sound laughable given how bad his odds are in the battle... ]

[Sparks gives Ashe a quick nod.] Yeah, no. I'm fine. Save it fer now.

[As far as Deweg goes, Sparks wonders if this guy is just reciting lines from a movie or something.] ...Seriously? No. Not happening.

[Not after that shot, no. However, Sparks has no idea what that Firewall spell does, but he's got to learn sometime. But at this point, a fire spell isn't going to keep the marshal from attacking. He really wants to deck this guy. He's going to start by punching the arm that Deweg is holding his gunsword with, in order to get him to drop the weapon.

He'll also try to act like that fire spell didn't hurt as much as it did.]

Agh, I... yeah okay that might have stung a little.

[Cloud can't help but blush a bit. He had overreacted and as he watches Sparks he started to feel bad for not having faith in the Marshall. He knew well what even a single bullet could do to a man, but it seems like their enemy's attack hadn't hurt the paladin nearly as bad as he had been selling it. Look at him standing up to that fire attack, clearly the Marshall is a strong man.

But now isn't the time. Giving Ashelia a nod, Cloud pushes his thoughts from his mind and focuses on the battle at hand.]

That's enough of that. WATER!

[He stamps his staff down and then thrusts it out, sending a spout of water from the top of it in the direction of the soldier. It's a strange spell, he thinks as he casts it. It's similar to blizzard, but unlike anything he's seen used back home. The principle seems to be the same though.]

Henry was so excited, finally, he would have a chance to use it. He was worried that wind spells didn't exist, but they totally did. He woke up one day shortly after the chocobo event and there is was, sitting in his head.

"I'm sure your threats will just blow over nyahaha AREO!"

Henry Swung his sword in front of his face, said the spell name, and swept is in the direction of the Colenel, a great gust of wind burs forth where he cut, heading towards the boss.

[Yuffie snuck around to the side using the objects in the room and her friends as cover. She is small enough that it isn't too difficult. Once she is in position her eyes focus on her target, her fingers itching to see what he has in store for her.

She jumps out towards his right, her hand slipping into his pockets and then retreating back behind the group.]

Nyuk~ Nyuk~ Nyuk~

[[OOC: Just let me know if she steals something or not.]]

Ashelia sent another charge of Thundara at the Colonel, ignoring his threat - though Cloud's Water spell didn't seem to do any damage to their enemy, which was somewhat unnerving. She winced when Sparks took the fireball, but her attention was taken almost immediately by Yuffie reappearing behind them, weapon decidedly free of any blood stains. What? It didn't take long for the queen to put together what the teenager had done.

"Yuffie, you imbecile! We need to slay this man, not root through his pockets! You could have put an end to this - there are the other intruders to think about!"

[ Cloud's spell has no effect-- And instead heals the Colonel. Henry's does though, and the Colonel steps back in pain, his arm seemingly wounded. Yuffie has gotten x3 Tickets for "I want to be your Moogle," a breath-taking play, the 08th of October in the Imperial City of Era. The tickets are respectively for Deweg, Gibbs and Jenni. Too bad she can't go!

After backing down following Henry's attack, the Colonel casts a spell around him. ]

So be it.

[ There is a circle on the ground around him, similar to what one would normally see when summoning an Eidolon. But this is no Eidolon that comes. The circle erupts in a blinding light that surrounds Deweg, and when it fades there is a Magitek Armor where he stood moments ago.

The colonel is in the pilot seat it and the retribution is quick to come. A Magic Beam fires at Henry immediately, as a machine gun mounted on the Armor's side shoots magical bullets at Ashelia and Yuffie. The armor itself moves to smash right into Cloud. Sparks is left alone, for now. ]

[Well, that was unexpected. And it all happened so fast. It seemed to be some sort of magic... robot? It was running over the rest of the team frighteningly fast, and clearly he'd be next. They weren't armored like he was, and Sparks didn't have any those healing spells to help them out. So if magic was what was needed here, that's what he would do. He casts Sentinel on himself, hoping that the spell would be strong enough to keep him up going under this sort of fire.]

That's enough of shootin' up the peanut gallery. I'm the one in front of ya.

[Cloud's eyes go wide as the armor suddenly appears. It's as he assumed earlier, the noises were similar to the mecha he'd seen in ShinRa facilities, but he'd never seen anything like this. If it wasn't for the fact that he's been casting spells lately, he'd assume it was just an energy beam that the armor just used, but his hair stands on end as he feels the magic energy coming off of it.

He tries to dodge out of the way, but the armor moves faster than he expects. He manages to avoid being run down by it, but the impact still knocks him off of his feet and rolling across the floor.]

GAH~

The beam pierces through Henry's shoulder, causing his right arm to go limp and his sword to fall to the ground. It takes him a second to even notice the now smoldering wound. He looks at it for a second and frowns.

"Hey! That's totally not cool. Burn wounds are lame, they don't even bleed that much! I'm starting to find this battle a bit DRAINING!"

Henry thrusts his still working arm in the air and glows purple as he casts Drain.

[Yuffie is shot in the shoulder and staggers backwards at the force. Even if it won't work she is still going to try and see this play. After all the pain she is going through she was going to make it worth it.

Now she wishes that she had stabbed him.

Yuffie rose to her feet and glared at the man in armor. Her thief skill is to low but she still had her monk abilities so she bounces on her feet and ran forward. Her foot contacting with the mans helmet.]

Take that!

Ashelia manages to hunker down behind her shield before the onslaught of bullets, but two still manage to hit "Agh!" She yells in pain, losing her footing as the bullets rip through her the meat of her right calf. Clean through, at least. There would be no messy removal - from this volley, at least.

The red mage casts a glance around at her comrades. Sparks seemed to be okay for now. It's hard to tell how the corporal is doing, but his low constitution would prove to be a problem. Yuffie seems spry as ever, and Sparks is holding up okay so far too. One more hit on him and he'd need a cure spell, Ashelia thought, but they needed all hands on offense and Henry being without his sword would not do. She sends a Cure spell Henry's way as she limps towards Cloud. "Corporal, status!"

Keep him busy, Marshal. I just need a little more time to summon... If everything she had read about this Ifrit - not so different than the one she knew from Bervenia - turned out to be true, then it would certainly put the armour through its paces. Hopefully out of commission.

[ Drains works half less well as it should because of the Magitek Armor-- It drains some of Deweg's life and restores a bit of energy to Henry, but doesn't seem to affect the Armor itself in the lesser.

When Yuffie jumps forward and hit his helmet, he replies by having the armor charge straight at her in an attempt to knock her back, before turning his attention to Sparks. The beam and machine guns that had been formerly directed at Ashelia and Henry are now both aimed at Sparks, and before long shoot again. This time the beam and machine gun fire last noticeably longer than it had before.

Even with his improved constitution, there is no way Sparks could sustain that much damage if this keeps going. But at least Cloud, Henry and Ashelia are all left alone for this round. ]

[Well that stings. That stings whole a lot. While the magic and his armor help, it's only going to be able to stop so much. He bravely faces the attack though, bracing himself through it. But the hail of projectiles push him backwards, and towards the end, he starts stumbling. When it's over, Sparks falls to his knees.]

...Well. Uh. Good to know that...works...

[But with everyone else spared, hopefully someone could toss a healing spell his way.]

[Cloud groans from his position on the ground. He's not sure how long it's been since the robot kicked him. He's sure he's faded in and out at least once and he's probably going to need some healing besides what a white mage could offer. It certainly hurts to move at the least.

He glances up blankly at Ashelia, taking a moment before processing what she's asking him. He tries to murmur a response, but all he can do is roll over onto his side, watching as Sparks takes another blow from the enemy.

His memory stirs. The other men in his team being wiped out by that AVALANCHE member. Their screams as they died still ring in his ears as he watches the man use magic to cut them down one by one. The only reason he survived was because of that Turk. If it wasn't for them, he probably would have thrown his life away to prove...

To prove what? Recklessly running into a fight didn't make you hero. Standing for what you believe in does. At least that's what he thought later on when he had time to think about it. After he had convinced the Turk not to kill the doctor just to finish the mission easier.

He blinks, his vision of the battle clearing. He barely knows these people, but he believes in them. He's not going to let them fall here. He's not going to let them turn into crystal statues, or whatever other peril is going to come their way. They're all going to walk out of this, and that means he has to fight.

Cloud pushes himself to his feet, wobbling a bit, but then he furrows his brow and stamps his staff down. His whole body flares briefly with energy as he pours his will into something that is not quite a spell.]

METEORAIN!

[From out of nowhere, and somehow from above, flaming stones rain down and smash against the Magitek armor, pummeling it with explosive force.]

Henry watches the meteors with glee. That's pretty cool he thinks. Turning his attention to the actual bad guy, he looks at the staggered Sparks and shouts to him.

"Way to go Sparky! Grima will appreciate your sacrifice for the rest of us!"

After giving Sparks a quick thumbs up, Henry cradles his hands and lowers his head, focusing for the turn so that his next spell is stronger (Focus power).

[Yuffie jumps back at the armors push and lands on her feet in front of him. This fight isn't going well but when Cloud reaches his limit break her hope is spurred.]

[Her skills right now were only in kicking so she ran at the armor again. This time aiming for it's joints, hoping to attack a critical stop.]

Ashe could help but gasp at the young soldier's display of power. Not that she doubted his abilities before, he had proven more than competent in battle, but could this be the true reason he was chosen as a Hero? If there is any rhyme or reason behind all this, the queen thought wryly.

Ashe grabbed Cloud's shoulder, supporting him as best she could with her lower leg a bloody mess. It was painful, but she didn't seem too bothered by it - she'd had worse gunshot wounds, to be sure. She offered opened her pouch, motioning with her head for the corporal to grab one of the potions or ethers piled up inside. "Well done, corporal. Don't give up just yet!" She looked over at Sparks, shield arm stretched out in his direction as she sent a Cure spell his way. She grimaced, jaw clenched. She hoped it would be enough. "Be careful, Yuffie!"

[ Yuffie's attack on the Magitek Armor's joints has no effect. Cloud's limit break however is super effective. Both the Magitek Armor and Deweg stumbles as the flaming stones rain down upon them, the machine obviously not having been built with sustaining Limit Break damage in mind. Deweg is left wounded and bleeding, whereas the Magitek Armor now looks darkened and about to break down.

But Deweg is still alive and uses the final skill of the Magitek Knight Job, enhanced by the still standing Magitek Armor. ]

Judgement!

[ Laser rays emanate from the Armor and Deweg, all raising to the ceiling before diving to the ground, spreading all around the room and exploding, leaving the room an exploding mess for a couple seconds.

Ashelia will sustain at least mild wounds from the attack, maybe serious ones. Henry will sustain mild wounds at least as well. Sparks will survive with serious wounds thanks to him being a Paladin and Ashelia's heal spell having given him back some energy. Being already weakened, Cloud will most likely die as a result of the attack, either immediately or within minutes. No potions or accessible white magic are at a high enough level to save him.

Miraculously, Yuffie will be left untouched by the attack and sustain no wound, or very minor ones if anything. The Armor is left very weakened, as is Deweg especially after casting this attack. The armor will explode with the least attack. ]

[No, no, that's enough of this. Sparks has had enough of this fight. Thankfully Ashelia's Cure spell hit him just in time to survive this attack, but he's back to being on his last legs. Slowly, he draws himself back up on his feet, not sure where this final bit of energy is coming from, but is thankful for it anyway. He raises his robot fists, ready to attack.]

Some 'Judgement'. I'm the one here to right the outlaw wrongs.

[He darts toward the Armor, and begins to hit it with a wild flurry of punches, intent on shattering it and taking Deweg with it. Once it's enough to take the armor down, he jumps back, not to get in the way of any falling or exploding parts.]

Don't think you're going to get past me. I'm...from...Ear--

[And with that, the marshal sways on his feet and falls backwards. He's out cold.]
