Entrance / Outside of the Facility

[ Artemicion can be found waiting for the Heroes of Light in the sixth sector, in front of the Magitek Research Facility-- An imposing building that apparently sees little use. Yet, the doors of the facility are wide open and the guards that were to protect it are all knocked out next to the entrance, courtesy of the intruders.

Artemicion will explain to the Heroes of Light that Biggs, Wedge and Jessie are all inside and that as such, they need to go and save them. He will also mention that the intruders used magic he had never seen before and as such they probably possess new and unknown Jobs. ]

I've never seen the Facility open like that Kupo!

[Spencer floats alongside Sephiroth who has at least equipped his Warrior/Dragoon purple with silver-trim armor before heading out to -for all appearances- answer Artmeicion's call for rescuing his comrades. Despite the PS the moogle had added about never being able to go home, Sephiroth would have come out here anyway at any mention of Jessie being in danger. The small Tarutaru, on her own, had nothing short of the only chance Sephiroth could figure in knowing what was wrong with him. So he's suited up and headed out - his extra long silver tail of hair tied up as it has to be if he's going to be able to wear the helmet that's for now tucked underneath his free arm.

Masamune, as usual, is poised along the back of his left arm as he takes a long moment to look over the facade of the building.]

[Kupola leeds Zelda in front of the factory, his green hat flying in the wind as he soared.]

[Her steps were light as she quickly moves to keep up with her excited moogle. He has been waiting for a chance to be a hero and it feels to her like she is being pulled along. Once the factory comes into view the girl stops and stares. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before. Her eyes widen as she tries to take in the sight.]

Do we have any idea where in the facility we might be able to find Jessie, Biggs, or Wedge? Or, should we assume that the only way to find them is to explore every nook and cranny?

[ Immediately thereafter, the Heroes are transported in the facility as a short-distance teleportation beams activates and locks on anyone present in the facility or its vicinity. The beam is painless, but the landing may be painful. This particular group appears in a bathroom-- Very dusty and that seemingly hasn't seen use in years. There is a small window. Soon, the mechanical voice speaks again. ]

[Ales knows that this isn't going to be as easy as he hoped the moment he heard the automated voice. Of course there was a security system here, but why didn't anyone who worked here bothered to turn it off when they knew the Heroes of Light were coming?

He soon finds himself hovering a few inches above a sink, then falls right into it, robes splayed around him.] Why was that necessary? [He kicks his legs, trying to pull himself out.]

Hm? Security units? [His eyes widen at the voice's next line and the sound of machinery that he is all too familiar with echoing somewhere in the distance.]

Group A: Exploration

[ There really is nothing of interest in this place-- But there is a door that leads to what appears to be the entrance of the facility. But unlike how the doors were minutes earlier, they are now closed, along with all windows that are also closed and black, the only source of light coming from red security lights. ]

Scouting Group

[He doesn’t fear the darkness, but it isn’t exactly welcoming, at this moment.

With the lockdown initiated, it wouldn’t surprise Gaara to find all of the exits sealed. Bringing up his memory of the area recently explored, he heads down the opposite hallway, with Luke and Ales following closely behind him. They need to uncover new territory, after all.]

Keep your guard up. [Gaara warns both of them in a low tone, and then stops abruptly. Before they proceed too far ahead… he raises his staff and quietly chants under his breath, ending with a single audible word.] Protect…

[With that spell cast on them, he continues onward, stepping lightly down the dark hallway.]

Well, it's now or never, I guess.

[There were times she had to fight in darkness but this was an all too different world and she wasn't as equipped to deal with it.The darkness doesn't make her waver though. Even though they were without a healer, both Genesis and Saori figured they could take care of any trouble that could come up. If the scouting group was caught, they could serve as a distraction. Once Gaara led them out, Saori followed behind.

Here's hoping that security units won't give them too much trouble.

Isn't it just like the government...

[ Sho just stays where he landed, half in a crouch, his white coat pooling around him and making him look a little like a head floating above a blob of ice cream. he took in the surroundings, his lips curling back at the voice and the distant sounds of mechanics starting before standing up, the coat still looking a little large for him. it was suppose to be large, not only did it add some bulk to his slim frame, but also hid the guns he use to carry every where.

but right now, he wore it because it was familiar and he needed something familiar in this place. ]

[ Most of the things in this office seem to be unimportant. All papers are over ten years old and relate to Magitek, speaking of its potential use in creating new Jobs. There is a door that leads to a corridor and a closed treasure chest in a corner. ]

[ while the others got their heads together, Sho wandered over to the treasure chest, squatting down and giving it a hard stare. while he should by rights go through all the papers, he was more interested to see what might be important enough to get locked into a chest in this place.

course, with his luck, it would probably be last year's issues of Play Boy hidden inside. ]

[The transportation leaves Zelda feeling dizzy. Her hand rests on her head as she tries to focus on the scene around them. The others appear in her view and she frantically looks over at them.]

[Going inside hadn't been her plan but now she is here and might as well make the best of it.]

Group C: Exploration

[ Most crystals here seem broken or unresponsive. It's obvious some sort of experiment was conducted here, but it's unclear what it was. The pod lining the south walls are all made of steel and closed, with a door east to leave the room. There are also two big treasure chests in a corner. ]

[It's obvious there are some robots that they may or may not have to deal with depending on the definition of 'intruder' - the parallels with training exercises within ShinRa is uncanny yet not so surprising.

But it doesn't sound like they are all that close yet, so -although making a point to remain alert- Sephiroth spends some time looking over some of the various pods that line the walls. Though he dislikes laboratories, he's certainly savvy enough to appreciate that there was some sort of crystal experiment going on. He's also much too cautious to touch anything, yet turning to Spencer who trots a way behind his heels he takes his own crystal shard from the small pale fluff-ball; to compare it visually with one of the abandoned ones.]

[ The main point of interest in this room is the closed cardboard box on the table. There are also two doors on the western wall. ]

Henry blinks a few times during the moments he is phases from the teleportation. A cool and handy spell that he will one day learn from the cold dead mind of someone who knows it.

But right now his attention turns not towards the other 4 people in the room, but the box.

"Oh hey! A box! Nothing bad ever comes from mysterious boxes in strange locations!"

He begins walking towards the box, reaching out to inspect it with his own hands.

[Link has heard such noises before, the sort of grinding on metal that comes from traversing through a factory of robots and treadmills. Looking to the other three, he draws his sword and stands with his back to the group.]

I'm not sure if anyone had any plans here but.. I think it's safe to say we'll be fighting most of our way through here.

[ There is nothing of interest in this corridor. There are a total of four doors: one at both ends of the corridors, and two on the walls, probably leading to smaller room. ]

I think we should at least give each other our names. [ part of him thought that talking at all was going to bring trouble down on them. they had no idea where the sounds were coming from, nor did they have any ideas as to where the enemy was. but there were some things that they had to settle on before things got too complicated. ]

I cannot just refer to everyone by their job titles in this place. To start, I am Genesis Rhapsodos, a former General of the ShinRa Company.

BOSS BATTLE: Colonel Deweg

[ When the light finally fades, the Heroes of Light will find themselves in a much larger room, it looks like a hall of some sort. Only the one with an eye patch remains, and a Gunblade appears in his hands.

The first person attacking or mentioning they don't intend to surrender or something like that, will have that Gunblade pointed at them, with a magical bullet fired at them. ]

Conclusion || Control Room

[ When the lockdown finally comes to an end, the facility looks like a much more welcoming building: sunlight makes the place a lot less dark, the lack of killer mechs makes wandering the corridor safer and Jenni being gone means there are no longer any illusion spells everywhere meant to confuse characters and make things extra creepy.

The Control Room on the last floor can be accessed as well. Biggs, Wedge, Jessie and Artemicion can all be found there. Wedge is sitting on a chair and looks quite exhausted, Biggs is still standing but was apparently wounded in battle whereas Jessie has her back turned to them and is typing on some sort of computer, crystals protecting holographic screens on which she is currently working. The computer looks very futuristic, a stark contrast with everything else around. And Artemicion, well he looks just fine.

Feel free to use this thread to explore area of the facility other groups explored, speak among group members or different groups after things were resolved, or to question the NPCs. Please reply here only if your group finished both the Exploration and Boss Battle threads. ]

[Most of the D-Team isn't fairing so well after their fight with Deweg, but they throw open the door anyway, not sure what to expect on the other side in the control room.

The marshal is one of the ones in the party who looks like he'd been hit by a truck. Spotting Jessie, Biggs and Wedge, Sparks shoots them all a cold look, and is about to say something when he notices the computers. That's the first time he's seen anything like that here - he didn't think this planet had them. He gawks at it for a moment before shaking it off.]

So here's where yer hidin'. We need to get out of this place right now, but y'all got a lot of explaining to do about this.

[A pause, and then he points to the computers.]
