[Link turns to Baralai, taking half a step closer to the man now seemingly gripping the crystal before them.]

We ask questions first.

[His head snaps back toward the gentleman, keeping his tone well-mannered but putting volume to his words in case the stranger isn't aware of the urgency of his actions.]

Sorry for the intrusion, Sir, but if you would please kindly for a moment put down the crystal? We've reason to suspect that the item you're holding is very dangerous! My name is Link, one of the chosen Heroes of Light. The friends behind me are Miss Ib, Mister Rhapsodos, and Mister Baralai. We were brought here to investigate a few missing persons..

[Unsure if his words are getting through to the man, or for that matter that he has the individual's attention, Link presses on and continues.]

Have you seen any one in this facility aside from the few of us?

[ The man ignored Ib and Genesis' words, but couldn't help and laugh after hearing Baralai's, and particularly Link's introduction. ]

... That's even worse than I had imagined. Yet again, anything related to Kalki is meant to be totally cray.

[ He spoke these words to himself but then cleared his throat and looked at them. ]

Yes, this Crystal is very dangerous, especially to you. Now I'm going to take it out, and you and your friends will be okay, alright?

[Baralai's attention was grabbed once again and this time he has questions. Lots of them. He pushes through toward the mysterious man for answers.]

You can touch it? Why;how?

[He heard voices in his head when he drew closer to the first one and the compulsion to touch it was there. How can someone else touch it without hearing the "voice"?]

Because he is not like us.

[he gets it, it is a big mystery and something that they should question, but in Genesis' experiences, usually when someone can manipulate something that he cannot, that person would no doubt use said something against him at a later date. if he possessed all of his abilities instead of this annoying Red Mage job, Genesis would have sicced Fire on the stranger with no questions. as it was, he slid his hand down the blade of his sword, finding a little comfort in the familiar action even if there was no answering fire from the metal.]

Do you really want something that affects us so to be in the possession of someone of an unknown factor? I know I do not.

[ He sighs. ]

Listen, it's my understanding your Jobs are at beginner level. For your own sake, that's not a good idea to fight me.

[Ib shakes her head and takes a small step forward.]

I don't want to fight you! But who are you? What do you want that crystal for?

[Frustration is showing in her tone. Why doesn't anyone ever just give straight answers?]

It's as Miss Ib says.. We don't want to fight, but without knowing who you are or what you plan to do with the crystal, we can't help but be extra cautious.

[He keeps his sword pointed to the floor, his shield held lax at his side as he steps forward to stand beside the others.]

It's a small request for us to ask, don't you think?

We don't have time for this. We have to find Jessie.

[It takes everything Baralai has within him to not retaliate in some fashion. Part of him wants to roll his eyes, another part wants to tear out his hair while another just wants to scream out his frustrations. Nothing makes any sense to him even if the evidence is presented to him with a nice and neat package.

His impatience is getting the best of him in the worst way and at the worst possible time.]

Stranger, if you'll excuse us, we have other pressing matters to attend to.

Well that's excellent, go to these matters. This Jessie is in the top floor of this building, if that gives you an answer.

[ The fact that he knows where Jessie is in itself may be suspicious, but-- He doesn't seem to be willing to answer anything else, not without a fight at least. ]

The top floor? How do we get there?

[It may be a little suspicious that he knows, but Ib doesn't mind taking what help she can get.]

[It's an unfortunate circumstance that they must leave behind a suspicious character, but there reason for being here had been to locate the missing persons. Turning to Baralai, Link puts a hand to his shoulder before making his way out the door.]

I'll make sure the hall is clear. Once we learn how to get to the top floor, we'll do our best to race there. Sound like a plan?

[Baralai looks to Link and nods. He knows that he's no good at fighting at the moment with only a book as his weapon. He inhales to calm his thoughts and then looks toward the door.]

It's better than what we have at the moment which is nothing. I'm in.
