Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.
"Kali Shashidhwaja."
Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.
And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.
This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

Fayt Leingod and Nel Zelpher's memory
Aquarian command center
"What we do here will determine victory or defeat. If we do not defend this position, they'll take the royal city in one fell swoop. We must stop them here. All units, move out!"
When the world finally reforms around them, they're at a wooden blockade. A town in shambles is at their backs, and ahead of them, a dusty plain. Soldiers move about, hurriedly preparing equipment, setting out to march, or helping at various tents. A grey haired young woman dressed in black seems to be directing them.
The Heroes will find themselves in the thick of all this. The soldiers will answer questions, though their reactions might be puzzled that they don't know what is happening. Airyglyph has mobilized it's army, and they must defend their position, buying time for the runologists, tattooed individuals in robes working on strange metal cannons, to finish the weapons that are their only chance to win this war.
Fayt and Nel know more, and if asked, will explain the situation further. They've lived it once before, after all.

More and more ridiculous things were happening in Crystallis these days, but this change of scenery was the frontrunner for sure. "Hey, you! Listen!" she spied a new target.

Fayt watches her float around as he absorbs the activity going on around him. He'd been here, once before. Though perhaps here wasn't the correct term, and as his gaze falls on the giant cannon like weapons scattered about, he knows this shouldn't be possible. This was a when, not just a here. Then again....
This wasn't the first time they'd 'gone back in time', not really. A memory, then?
Or not quite, given Midna's presence.
so sorry, so late... impromptu work craziness xc
Had she been suddenly cast into another new reality all over again? "What world is this!"
A very confused Glyphian
Although, for discomfort, it didn't top the way Albel suddenly found himself in the Aquarian camp, listening to Clair Lasbard give her troops a motivational speech. Still a little lightheaded from the trip to this dreamworld, and the fact that this wasn't his memory, it took him a second to focus. This wasn't his memory... he'd never been here. At least... not on this side of it. As he overheard snippets of conversation from the soldiers around him, it occurred to him that he was present in this moment.
On the other side. Part of the invading army. Albel the Wicked.
He wandered through the destroyed town, past tiers of wooden blockades, staring at the scattered groups of Aquarian soldiers and runologists in their defensive positions. Why no one was reacting toward him in panic was a mystery. Maybe it was because it was only a memory, and Albel was only drifting through it. And as he approached Fayt and Nel, he wondered if they could see him, too.

Now what? How were they going to get out of here? He'd lived this moment before.... but he couldn't say he was looking forward to the prospect of living through it again.
"Wasn't expecting to see you get dragged here, too."
no subject
"Does this mean I'm still over there -- your memory of me?" he asked. Because that thought was weird as hell, two of him existing in the same instance of time.
Well... if he had to be here, at this time, at least he wasn't in the dungeon.

"None of us knew why you weren't on the battlefield, only that you weren't."
Battlefield
After some discussion, the decision is made to push onward. Maybe they'd find answers, maybe an exit. Fayt and Nel seem tense, but they'll push forward into the brewing battlefield. The stretch of land before them is rife with battle far into the distance, with soldiers in different types of armor clashing against each other and the bodies of the fallen scattered about in growing numbers as they push forward. Some, notably the ones in stark black and steel armor, will attack the heroes. Further along the battlefield, more will appear, riding huge, airborn beasts-- dragons. Their lithe, lizard-like bodies belie great strength and their ability to breath fire over swathes of soldiers.
At the far end awaits their objective: Duke Vox, captain of the Dragon Brigade and standing commander of the Airyglyph troops.
"So, you're the ones I've been hearing about.... The ones who defeated Albel."
Battlefield
Her eyes glowed a little brighter compared to her time in Crystallis as if the beast inside of her was prowling close to the surface.
"Why would you cause war?"
Terra hated it. She hated fighting and war but she would still do what she could to protect. Even if that meant using magic.
Re: Battlefield
"Why? Why does anyone fight? For power, for land, for wealth. You Aquarian scum are soft. You may have some skill, but you're no match for the true power of Airyglyph!"
Vox was astride his dragon and ascending into the sky before his speech was finished.
"Leave these scum to me, men!" The time for talk was over, it seemed.
Fayt glances over at Terra, offering a quick warning before he traces a quick series of symbols onto his blade with his fingertips, ice forming over the edges in their wake. "Careful, the dragon's more dangerous than Vox."
Battlefield
She placed her palm on her chest before casting. Fire appeared in her palms before the torrent was sent towards the dragon. She wasn't going to wait for those she knows to get hurt and if she has to fight to prevent that then she will.
"I will fight you."
Battlefield
"Terra, watch out!" Fayt's rushing towards the dragon, hoping to at least knock it off course if Terra can't dodge, slashing upwards with his frost covered blade.
Battlefield
She was surprised to see Fayt there attacking the dragon. "Fayt!"
Re: Battlefield
"Guess you had that under control, huh?"
Battlefield
"Sort of. What's happening Fayt?"
She looked over at him not paying much attention to the conflict around them.
Annoyed Glyphian
The warrior's eyes narrowed as he saw the other man, heard that voice that grated on his very being. Vox.
"I changed my mind," he growled, glancing at Fayt. "This one's mine."
Re: Annoyed Glyphian
"Go for it, but I'm helping." Though if this memory went the way Fayt remembered it, Albel probably wouldn't get a chance to finish him off....

He hefted his katana, dug in his toes, then dashed forward. "Eat this, Vox! Air Slash!" A wave of power sprang forth from his sword, arcing up toward the dragon rider.
