Event || In Your Worst Memory

Characters: All Heroes of Light. Only those who signed-up can start a memory.
Where: Interdimensional Rift
When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

Part 1

"What we do here will determine victory or defeat. If we do not defend this position, they'll take the royal city in one fell swoop. We must stop them here. All units, move out!"

When the world finally reforms around them, they're at a wooden blockade. A town in shambles is at their backs, and ahead of them, a dusty plain. Soldiers move about, hurriedly preparing equipment, setting out to march, or helping at various tents. A grey haired young woman dressed in black seems to be directing them.

The Heroes will find themselves in the thick of all this. The soldiers will answer questions, though their reactions might be puzzled that they don't know what is happening. Airyglyph has mobilized it's army, and they must defend their position, buying time for the runologists, tattooed individuals in robes working on strange metal cannons, to finish the weapons that are their only chance to win this war.

Fayt and Nel know more, and if asked, will explain the situation further. They've lived it once before, after all.

Midna had no idea where this was, and even less about what was going on. She floated through the air with ease, following soldiers and asking questions that likely didn't have a correct answer in her books, anyway. Midna grit her teeth together, tiny hands balled into fists as she leaned forward in the air. "Did you hear me? I said I want answers! Don't just walk away as though you can't hear me I know you're -- grrr..."

More and more ridiculous things were happening in Crystallis these days, but this change of scenery was the frontrunner for sure. "Hey, you! Listen!" she spied a new target.

"This is.... the warfront. Between Arias and Kirlsa?"

Fayt watches her float around as he absorbs the activity going on around him. He'd been here, once before. Though perhaps here wasn't the correct term, and as his gaze falls on the giant cannon like weapons scattered about, he knows this shouldn't be possible. This was a when, not just a here. Then again....

This wasn't the first time they'd 'gone back in time', not really. A memory, then?

Or not quite, given Midna's presence.

Finally! Someone that would acknowledge her! Although Midna wasn't acquainted with the young man, she quickly skipped the basics in favour of information. "Don't just say it so casually! Where is Crystallis, I've never seen this place before!" The fact that he knew it, well... it was possible this was a different world entirely.

Had she been suddenly cast into another new reality all over again? "What world is this!"

Albel didn't remember how he got there. Besides the whole... strange language, magic words, world melting bit -- again. It was really starting to get uncomfortable.

Although, for discomfort, it didn't top the way Albel suddenly found himself in the Aquarian camp, listening to Clair Lasbard give her troops a motivational speech. Still a little lightheaded from the trip to this dreamworld, and the fact that this wasn't his memory, it took him a second to focus. This wasn't his memory... he'd never been here. At least... not on this side of it. As he overheard snippets of conversation from the soldiers around him, it occurred to him that he was present in this moment.

On the other side. Part of the invading army. Albel the Wicked.

He wandered through the destroyed town, past tiers of wooden blockades, staring at the scattered groups of Aquarian soldiers and runologists in their defensive positions. Why no one was reacting toward him in panic was a mystery. Maybe it was because it was only a memory, and Albel was only drifting through it. And as he approached Fayt and Nel, he wondered if they could see him, too.

They could see him, alright. Fayt is surprised to see Albel here, but perhaps he shouldn't be, considering the circumstances. Somehow, they'd all been pulled in here together, and now....

Now what? How were they going to get out of here? He'd lived this moment before.... but he couldn't say he was looking forward to the prospect of living through it again.

"Wasn't expecting to see you get dragged here, too."

At least they were aware it was him, and not... other him. Past him. This was confusing. Albel shook his head with a frown. "Neither was I -- at least, not this side of it." He glanced over his shoulder.

"Does this mean I'm still over there -- your memory of me?" he asked. Because that thought was weird as hell, two of him existing in the same instance of time.

Well... if he had to be here, at this time, at least he wasn't in the dungeon.

"I'm guessing so. I didn't even know you were in the dungeons until we spoke to the king at the peace talks, so I don't know." Was it only Fayt's perception of things, or was it an actual snapshot of the events that took place? He didn't know.

"None of us knew why you weren't on the battlefield, only that you weren't."
