Intro Log || The Return of the Heroes

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of September. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light. It marks the first time since January that Heroes of Light have appeared in Aqures Ixen.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:


"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.

If asked, the Moogles will mention that the city was recently attacked by the Heran Empire and nearly destroyed by Ultima Weapon. What's the Heran Empire? What's Ultima Weapon? Better to ask to the heroes who saw it all.


The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they fiercely battled each other past month. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.


The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
With the recent attack, Aqures Ixen is under reconstruction. The city was saved for the most part, but there are ruined buildings, the Sixth District is nothing but wasteland now and the Thirteenth District has become a graveyard. Even so, there are a lot of things left to do in the city for newcomers. A few groups of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, mostly Moogles as many of them are not working after what happened. And of course, they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!

Characters are also free to visit the city-- Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with Moogles, most of them panicked, tired, busy or slacking now that their director has disappeared. They can also visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline-- Though they have to make a request 48 hours in before to do so.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.


Close Encounters of the Third Kind
— 19:00 —
Characters venturing by the city's outskirts at this specific time will be able to see a most peculiar sight: a flying saucer seemingly abducting a cow before flying away and disappearing into the sky without leaving any traces of its presence. If your character do see it, hopefully there will be someone with them. Otherwise, nobody will believe their story.

Was it an UFO or just a hallucination? Only the future will tell...

"There usually is, but with well... you can tell what happened there probably won't be as many for a while, which I don't mind but when it's what one does for a living then it makes getting gil harder." He didn't mind though since he now had a small amount he assume he could live off for at least the next month at best.

"But playing for fun is something one can do everyday here. Maybe we'll end up playing against each other." He always enjoyed new challengers after all.

[derplander]

"True. Perhaps one can organize some downtime tournaments in the middle of reconstruction then."

The Adventurer smiled, nodding eagerly. "I'd like that. I would definitely look forward to that, Yugi."

"I guess I can always do that." He looked at the people that were still around, some were smiling even though things didn't look great and that was because of the game they were playing. It was enough to get him to smile a tiny bit. It had been what he felt like forever since he last did it honestly and not just putting it on.

"If it helps them in anyway... It's the least I could do since I'm not good at much else.."

[derplander]

"Everyone's good at something," said the Adventurer with a smile. He gestured to the games being taken place. "Maybe your place is making people smile with the things you do. It certainly would lend itself to the games, if I'm not mistaken?"

"Well yeah... But game seem to be the only thing I'm good at. In the long run that won't be as helpful as help those that need help in a fight." That's how he thought of it anyway. He could help them but not for long or before anything else would happen again.

[derplander]

"There is actually a Job I know of, that utilizes cards and the drawing from the deck," said the Adventurer thoughtfully. "I do not know if it is here, but they read the stars and divine fates, using a deck of cards to change fate.

I would look into it, if you know of the Astrologian."

[sizedoesntmatter]

"I haven't heard of anything like that. I know that Gambler used a deck of cards and each card has an effect, but that';s the only one I am aware of." He didn't know if there is any other job, but they seem to find a new one monthly at best.

[derplander]

"Hmm, so Astrology is yet undiscovered or unknown to this world then?" How curious.

[sizedoesntmatter]

"I can't say I honestly know because I've never asked." He said now a little nervously. He knew he didn't have all the answers and he had so wanted to help, but maybe this wasn't the way to go about it, perhaps.

"Sorry that I'm not more helpful."

[derplander]

He nodded, giving Yugi a smile. "It is fine, I was simply curious. This world has much in common with my own world, but so much is different right now."

"Your world was like a roleplaying world type setting?" He asked curiously, tilting his head ever so slightly.

[derplander]

"Ah, perhaps? I am uncertain what you mean by roleplaying if naught for children's games, but my world had similar themes. Crystals, a Cataclysm, a evil that threatens the land. The names Cid, Biggs, Wedge and Jessie, all good friends of mine. The primals, Shiva, Ifrit, summon-able beings without regret here in this world but deadly in mine."

He shrugged. "There are many similarities."

He couldn't help but feel rather awkward as the name Jessie popped up. There was a reason for this and one he didn't want to explain right now. There was way to much to explain. But never the less after that brief moment of awkwardness he put on a tiny smile.

"So there is so much... Maybe it's not a coincidence that you are here then. I mean we are all here to deal with the calamity, but it's rare to have people who have so many things that are similar."

[derplander]

"Perhaps you are right. There are a lot of forces at work. Twelve knows that I am here for the same reason everyone else is."

At this, he smiled. "Truly it is nice to see some familiar things here."

He smiled slightly. It was nice to know that there was a lot of familiar things to this person.

"Then it should be easier for you to adjust being here at least. I hope you do. Though f you are ever stuck, I'll... try and help."

[derplander]

"In truth, you are right. Thank you for your assurance." He smiled. "Perhaps I can help the new Adventurers. Greenleafs we called them back home."

"Greenleafs? Why Greenleafs?" He asked wondering why new arrivals or newbies would be called that. It was at least something new he could learn for this month.

[derplander]

"Greenleafs, or New Adventurers are those whom we train and provide care for, like a newborn leaf or plant." He explained. "Without our care, they could easily fall in battle due to headstrong recklessness."

[sizedoesntmatter]

"That actually make sense. Actually that sounds useful for those of us who arrive here with no previous fighting experience." He never did beyond roleplaying games but he was never actually the type. he still wasn't really.

[derplander]

"I see. How about you, Yugi? How much experience do you have? Did you have a mentor in it?" Because Meteor would totally teach him.

[sizedoesntmatter]

"Well... I don't have a lot before I arrived here I guess and I am still learning and not very good. I mean I would rather not hurt people if I can help it after all." That was just the way he was really.

[derplander]

"I understand; not everyone likes the rough life of an Adventurer. But as much as they are an optional thing, have you considered the healing arts? Many conjurers and arcanists in my world devote their time to the healing art, and prefer to mend rather than harm." said the Adventurer with a smile.

"You may like it."

"Well, it's not something I ever thought about fully. I mean my Red Mage job has some healing ability but not the best kind." It only went to a certain level, but he wondered if maybe he should take another job.

[derplander]

He nodded at Yugi's explanation, folding his arms in thought. "While I am unfamiliar with Red Mage, for it isn't a Job known to us right now in Eorzea, I'd imagine that learning a variety of abilities might help. Even if there isn't strong healing, there are what we call buffs back home, to protect and avoid damage."

"You mean protect and shell? I know those spells exist but I don't think I can do them myself." He said still wondering if he could get another job, but he wanted to work on the others first and learn more from those.

"Those are something I think goes with White Mage, if I am correct."
