Intro Log || The Return of the Heroes

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of September. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light. It marks the first time since January that Heroes of Light have appeared in Aqures Ixen.
Warning: N/A

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.

If asked, the Moogles will mention that the city was recently attacked by the Heran Empire and nearly destroyed by Ultima Weapon. What's the Heran Empire? What's Ultima Weapon? Better to ask to the heroes who saw it all.

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —

Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they fiercely battled each other past month. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —

With the recent attack, Aqures Ixen is under reconstruction. The city was saved for the most part, but there are ruined buildings, the Sixth District is nothing but wasteland now and the Thirteenth District has become a graveyard. Even so, there are a lot of things left to do in the city for newcomers. A few groups of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, mostly Moogles as many of them are not working after what happened. And of course, they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!

Characters are also free to visit the city-- Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with Moogles, most of them panicked, tired, busy or slacking now that their director has disappeared. They can also visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline-- Though they have to make a request 48 hours in before to do so.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind
— 19:00 —

Characters venturing by the city's outskirts at this specific time will be able to see a most peculiar sight: a flying saucer seemingly abducting a cow before flying away and disappearing into the sky without leaving any traces of its presence. If your character do see it, hopefully there will be someone with them. Otherwise, nobody will believe their story.

Was it an UFO or just a hallucination? Only the future will tell...

He caught her look and could sympathize. His pup and a dear friend in two forms were encased there. Genesis was his first emotional attachment besides his mother. And that had been part of his motivation to get the man back to Shinra. But in the end he felt like he failed Genesis and seeing not one but two forms of him now brought it all back. But he wouldn't break in front of a stranger.

Angeal shook his head at the question but reciprocated the name. "There's nothing I can think of but I appreciate it all the same. I'm Angeal."

Like him, Sheena was loyal to her friends, but none of the ones she had made back home were here. That didn't mean she didn't have any here, but everyone Sheena knew had awoken with her, but even if they hadn't, she would have (and did) felt some responsibility for them being there. Even if in her mind she knew that wasn't true. It was the heart and soul that always had to be convinced.

And most of the time, it wasn't easy--or even possible--but, in Sheena's case, always hidden behind a mask of "I'm fine" until she was alone. And then, she would either break down crying of beat the hell out of something. Sometimes: both. So, with that experience and knowledge under her belt, she left well enough alone with him and kept silent about those who were still in stasis.

Keeping her gaze on him, she nodded. "Hello, Angeal," she said, not uttering the standard "nice to meet you" because... Well, just because. Looking at his Moogle, she tilted her head in his direction. "I heard him say that you're his hero. Has he explained that to you?"

"No he hasn't explained."

And Angeal really hadn't felt it necessary to question it though he did tell the moogle to rethink that statement and had given a lecture that Ursa had floated off during. So their first interaction hadn't gone all that well.

And when Angeal heard about his second 'job' later, it had just about the same effect. He'd given at least a ten minute lecture that Ursa had tried to cover his ears about and again ended up floating off for a bit.

Shaking her head in understanding, Sheena looked over at Corrine. He had explained everything he could to her from the outset. It was sometimes tough to go on with so little information, and yes, she did that more often than not. But there were times when she did find out what she needed to know.

Like when she was told she was a hero.

"Okay. What that means isn't that he idolizes you; he's been assigned to you because you are one of this planet's Heroes of Light. And anyone with a Moogle is a hero. Brought from another world."

Yeah, she really wasn't too keen on that last part.

No worries! Tag whenever you can!

He digested this information and somehow it was better than what he'd originally thought. Therefore, he'd have to apologize as soon as he could to the moogle about the lecture.

"Brought from another world to fix this one?" Somehow he wasn't sure exactly what it was that he was supposed to do. After all, he'd had his student end his existence, what kind of hero was that? If that was the case, they completely had the wrong guy.

Thanks!

Nodding, Sheena paced a few steps back and forth. "Yes. Well, at least that's what I was told." She nodded to her own Moogle, who was now perched on a cabinet, holding a nut out to his fellow.

"We are also called 'Heroes of Light'--those who had saved this world once before and have now returned to do so again." Even as she said it, she knew how strange it sounded, but having witnessed something close to reincarnation on her own world, she was beginning to believe it was possible.

"And the crystals play an important part in it," she said, holding hers up.

The idea of being a hero wasn't ever going to settle in with Angeal. It just wasn't something that he would ever consider himself and that wasn't ever going to change. So he focused on something else.

"I'm not sure how the crystals work here, especially in fixing the world."

But then again, this whole place was nothing but strange to Angeal. He took the crystal out of his own pocket and turned it over and over in his hand, but no answers came to him as to how it was going to solve things.

Sheena had a problem with it, too. Especially with the way people fawned over her. That was something she didn't like and couldn't get used to. The sad part for both of them was that having a moogle trailing behind was the clue everyone needed to know their status.

So, they just couldn't escape it even if they wanted. At least, she hadn't been able to.

"You're not the only one." She tilted her head and looked at him curiously. "But you say that like you know about crystals. Do you have them on your world, too?"

She could empathize about the strangeness of both the world and the situation. But she was learning that there were a lot of things that were similar and familiar to her--which made things a lot easier. She just hoped the same thing would happen for him.

Slowly he nodded. "It's crystallized planet life energy." It was the easiest explanation but he didn't really want to get into the fact that the military was infused with that life force energy. Angeal had protested against it to a point until he was told that he wouldn't be able to be SOLDIER without it. Luckily his body had adjusted unlike some of the cadets. They were never told what happened to the rejects though Angeal suspected some had died from the poisoning.

He shook his head. "The ones back home wouldn't help here." His gloved hand clenched around the crystal held fast there.

"Crystalized..." She stopped as she thought about the crystals she had seen here. Could they be the same? There were Crystals of each element, and on her world, the elements were governed by mana... An idea occurring to her, she met his gaze.

"These crystals on your world. Are they elemental in nature? Like Fire, Wind, Earth, Air, and so on?"

If she's right, then those crystals might give them some clue to the ones here--and help them in some way.
