Intro Log || The Return of the Heroes

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of September. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light. It marks the first time since January that Heroes of Light have appeared in Aqures Ixen.
Warning: N/A

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who have arrived in the course of the past year and they will come soon! Like you, they have Jobs and a Crystal.

If asked, the Moogles will mention that the city was recently attacked by the Heran Empire and nearly destroyed by Ultima Weapon. What's the Heran Empire? What's Ultima Weapon? Better to ask to the heroes who saw it all.

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —

Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world within the past year. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they fiercely battled each other past month. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a tragic disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —

With the recent attack, Aqures Ixen is under reconstruction. The city was saved for the most part, but there are ruined buildings, the Sixth District is nothing but wasteland now and the Thirteenth District has become a graveyard. Even so, there are a lot of things left to do in the city for newcomers. A few groups of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, mostly Moogles as many of them are not working after what happened. And of course, they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!

Characters are also free to visit the city-- Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with Moogles, most of them panicked, tired, busy or slacking now that their director has disappeared. They can also visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline-- Though they have to make a request 48 hours in before to do so.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind
— 19:00 —

Characters venturing by the city's outskirts at this specific time will be able to see a most peculiar sight: a flying saucer seemingly abducting a cow before flying away and disappearing into the sky without leaving any traces of its presence. If your character do see it, hopefully there will be someone with them. Otherwise, nobody will believe their story.

Was it an UFO or just a hallucination? Only the future will tell...

"Maybe yer bedroom." He was joking. She was too young for him anyway, and Raven wasn't about to ruin her youth in such a manner.

"I think this observatory ya mentioned will do." He corrected his statement, casually brushing off his earlier one.
goddessofthesky: (Embarrassed)

Zelda is 20 thank you very much

[personal profile] goddessofthesky 2015-09-16 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
"AH!" As expected Zelda turned bright red. She didn't know his age and her world had different definitions of youth due to the lack of people who lived there but no age made that comment acceptable.

"The observatory then. It just over this way."

Zelda worked to banish the red from her cheeks as she walked towards the old observatory.

He's still 15 years her senior

He mused at her embarrassment, it was why he made such a horrible comment to begin with. Provoking reactions people wouldn't otherwise have. Generally it was to appear less serious, and in most cases, it worked like a charm. The less serious people took him, the better chance he'd have at catching people off guard. Of course part of it was sincere too.

"Lead th' way."
goddessofthesky: (What did you say?)

Zelda was used to some flirtation and a few comments along those lines though nothing as bold as what Raven spoke. She might one day get used to it but for now it left her more than a little flustered.

She nodded her head and turned. "It's just over this way." Her voice was soft and sweet and if it wasn't for the obvious tint you'd think that the young goddess wasn't throw so totally off guard.

"It's set up as a place for the heroes." Zelda looked up at him with a smile as they walked. "There are a few things there should you have use of them." It wouldn't be long to the old observatory. It was a few blocks down and unless Raven had questions he wanted to ask, Zelda will just point things out and speak as thoughts come to mind. There are a few taverns along the way and of course comments on the cities reconstruction.

Tell that to Raven

A set up for the Heroes? They were rather organized for this occasion. He wondered if they ever initiating things using this as a get together. Kind of like the Union of sorts. But being that Raven was of Brave Vesperia, he likely wouldn't participate with this unless asked otherwise. He was just here to help Yuri out at this point.

"I'm more curious about the gritty details revolvin' around this world. Does this place keep funnelin' heroes to solve its problems?"
goddessofthesky: (Beauty)

Okay then! lol

"Only when it comes to the Calamity." Zelda pulled out an old looking journal and passed it to Raven. It had everything though a lot was scratched out when it came to information on those in the city who were helping them. Some theory's were written too but most had notes saying they weren't possible either.

"This has happened before, 2000 years ago. I know a few Crystallis citizens that wished they could fight without the heroes... I'm beginning to think that us being here is the cause of the crystal that now threatens the world."

She paused letting that sink in.

"We don't know all the details yet."

Good, haha.

2000 years ago is kind of a long time. The fact that it returns proved to be a problem as well. Was it even possible to beat? More importantly, did it actually have the power the legends claim, or did these so-called Heroes of Light actually succeed in keeping the Calamity at bay.

Raven took the journal and flipped it open, slowly skimming the pages of what the contents were. It was a little messy and somewhat disorganized, but it was a typical sign of note tracking. It was clear that they had been at this for awhile.

"It's plausible that our bein' here is what could be corruptin' this world." He mentioned as he continued to skim through the pages. He only considered this a fact since Estelle, at one point, was toxic to the aer as well.

"Yes, the woman named Kalki had implied something like that. That us being here caused the reaction that then brought the calamity into existence. We have spoken with heroes of the past and it seems they've set up a way to stop it for good but we can't tell what that is."

It felt like they didn't know enough and Zelda wasn't one to go stumbling around in the dark. Raven would notice, besides the information on each event and the notes about people and places, that the journal was filled with Zelda's encounters and thoughts about this world. Everything that she has faced was written as if she might forget otherwise, like it was written about someone else.

"We don't really have enough information."

"Who's Kalki?" She was proving to be very useful, whether she meant to or not. Raven was already fond of her from the start, but more so now that she was being so helpful. He would likely keep her around as more than just as asset, but someone to fool around with. Who knows, maybe they'll become friends, but it was too early to say.

"Has all your information so far been acquired through experience?"
goddessofthesky: (Yeah I'm awesome)

"Kalki works for the Empire. She's the one who's started the reaction and the calamity that is now spreading over Crystallis She was working with the Empire, we don't know if she still is or not but both Kalki and the Empire are working against us. Kalki clams to be trying to stop the Calamity except that everyone will die if she continues..."

Zelda was always happy to help and as fair as she was concerned Raven was a friend. She trusted the heroes and believed in them, perhaps more than she should.

"So far most information is through experience though I have some notes from legends and books I've found. I've spent a long time looking through the library. I've been trying to separate fact from fiction in the legends here. They are all a little different." It's a really difficult task that Zelda has given herself.

Do all end all kind of person by the sounds of it. Raven can't say he was fond of her method of solving the problem. It was a little drastic if anything. Whether it was the only method or not was to be determined, but he supposed that's where they get their hands dirty.

"No one here knows a different way ta stop the Calamity?" It was a wishful question, but he still wanted to ask. Raven continued to flip through the journal, it was a tad confusing to follow.

"If its through experience, then what we do determines th' outcome of how our crisis might evolve." Especially if they don't know how this thing progresses. There must have been information somewhere if this thing was kept at bay for 2000 years and then some. There was no promising way to kill it, but there was history showing it could be dealt with.
goddessofthesky: (why would you)

"We can slow it down by not going near it but we can't stop it." That much she had gathered. To be honest it's like stumbling around in the dark which was a feeling that Zelda hates.

Zelda nodded. "That's right." The more she explained it the more daunting and grotesque their situation appeared.

"You're probably not to happy you woke up here." She missed the time when she thought this world was a happy place. She had been very wrong then, but it was hard to see a place where her fate had been avoided as bad.

That was unusual. "Our being closer causes it ta grow?" Well, no wonder that Kalki person wanted to get rid of them to get rid of the calamity. If that's the case, then why summon them and claim they could fix it? There had to be more than what was let on.

Raven wasn't all to thrilled to help save the world again. He had just helped his own from Alexei's ideals, and here he was trying to do it over with a larger group of people. She nailed it on the head guessing his was displeased with his outcome.

"'fraid so." He won't lie about it. "Sounds like we need more pieces ta solve this puzzle before we can even tackle the Calamity."

Zelda nodded. "We do but..." Her expression shifts to one of thought. "I'm not sure where to start."

It's something she's been wrestling with for some time. She wanted to help but each time she thought she found out something new, another problem arose. They couldn't get close to the crystal that was growing but didn't they have too? She wasn't very good at puzzles. She had always had help.

She looked over at Raven. "What do you think?"

"Can't say I have any useful thoughts." He'd have to go digging for information because he just got here. He was like some of the seasoned heroes such as herself who had months worth of experience to form a hypothesis out of. It would take some time before he would be anywhere near useful.

The most he could probably do was fight, and he had no reason to draw his weapon here, or now. They weren't in a time of piece by a long shot, but they weren't in immediate danger either.

Zelda pouted slightly. "I didn't ask if they were useful. I only asked what your thoughts were." Try as she might he's being rather difficult. So she's going to choose a place to eat without his input. She hopes it has a varied enough menu for him and she makes sure that there are savory things on the menu since he already said he didn't like sweet things.

"Here."

She pulled a piece of paper from her bag and passed it to him. The restaurant name was written in elegant letters with a menu attached to it's back.

"Why don't we go here?" Then they can go to their rooms for the night. She's sure that he has his own things he wants to do and she didn't plan to keep him forever.
