Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

[Stepping through the portal leads the Heroes on the cliffside of the sea. There is very little hint of human civilization, save for a village with wooden houses and nearby farms. As it's the middle of the day, people can be seeing working around town: constructing buildings, meeting friends, and herding sheep.

Duster doesn't recognize the place at first, though it does look similar to the area where Tazmily used to lie. Being the main point of interest, the group approaches the town only for Duster to stop when he gets a look at the residents from a distance.]

[That farmer. That's Butch. And that incredibly tall that was sitting down just a second ago is Leder. It has to be...]

Everyone, this is my world! [Duster grins turns around to the other Heroes.]

[The laboratory in the middle of the forest is surprisingly quiet. No one greets then as they enter, no one is in the break room, no footsteps can be heard. This has to be where the scientists are working, but why does it feel so empty?

A serious of pounding steps on the ceiling gives the answer. It moves across the second floor room, turns towards the hallway, and stops. A muffled roar that sounds like a revving engine is heard through the ceiling.

Welcome, Heroes. Sneak past the Ultimate Chimera and find the scientists.]

Jack looks confused about the idea that this could possibly be Sparks' fault. "Ye-ah, interdimensional beings are gonna do what they're gonna do, better to get your frustration out where you can. No more your fault than mine."

Jack's mouth forms a line. "Besides, what the hell else were we supposed to say? 'Sure, thanks, you can eat my world now!' Pfft."

[And Deadpool's one of the first to step out and look around. He seems quite unimpressed at first until he looks around at the tables and notices the headlines.]

Michael Phelps...? Rio Olympics? Man, has time flew...!

[And he keeps looking at the newspaper before stopping and laughing, getting the patrons nearby to hush him]

"Suicide Squad"! What a joke! It'll never catch on!

[He turns to see Selphie and although his expression of annoyance doesn't really change he's a bit relieved to see her safe.]

You alright?

[He notices her weapon a moment later.]

You have your nunchaku again.

[Squall is somewhat startled when Yuri nearly runs into him and he takes a uncomfortable step back, eyes glancing at the strange looking dog creature at his side before looking back to Yuri.]

[Whatever was happening it looks like he’s not the only hero getting dragged into weird places.]

I’m guessing this happens often then?

[Seeing at this is the first time something so strange has happened to Squall since coming here and all. Blizzara waves to Yuri’s moogle with excitement.]

[Duster eyes the catte's hand. She feels solid, he's solid, so they should be alive. Just somewhere different.

He sighs in relief.] I guess it can't be all that bad if we're safe together.

[The white surroundings should be unnerving, but Duster rests his hands on his armor and scans the area calmly.]

You think Palitutu was sent here, too...?

[K'pandolu nods, following Ed's gesture as Sika flutters over to offer Mogrissa a few comforting pats.]

Out in the Plains, after we fought the Weapon, there was some sort of rift. I imagine it must have been empowered to draw all the Heroes in, no matter how far away they were…

[she shakes her head, with a small grumbling sound.]

You haven't heard of anything like this place, then, I assume?

Mm. If we stick together, I'm sure we'll find a way through.

[there is something calming about it, the longer she looks. Sika's still floating nearby, though she is eyeing one of those lines of light.

K'pandolu shakes her head, frowning.]

She said something about us finding her. She ought to be somewhere we can reach from here- but there's no doubt it'll be somewhere difficult for us to reach.

[what a good bird. K'pandolu reaches out to scratch Zack's neck, keeping her body turned towards the two of them.]

It staggers belief- and all the same, I feel I should have seen this coming. No matter how tough the Weapon was as a foe, of course she wouldn't give up so easily.

[she hates everything. Or- well, almost everything, because Zack is a good bird and Cloud is a good person. Everything about the situation, then.]

… She said something about stopping if we find her. Do you think she'll keep true to that?

"Order's Sanctuary."

Ales answered Bonnie's question without looking at the Moogle or Hero. He had been killed in the final explosion, but he experienced enough first-hand machine breakdowns to know that it was the final blow. He stood atop a white rectangular outcropping by the edge of the sanctuary.

"Palitutu's code in her secret lab would open a portal to the Rift whether we defeated the Ultima WEAPON or not, but the location was different." That activate variable ate him the days leading up to the fight, and he realized what it could have meant.

"Lose, then send us all to the Edge of Madness. Now, forgive me if I'm wrong, but that sounds like a dangerous place where we could all die if we didn't have something powerful on our side. Like a WEAPON." That was it. That was Palitutu's plan. Clever girl.

"Rift activation plus 10 if the mecha remains on when the code runs. Perhaps that ten was to create more portals..."

[K'pandolu stops to listen, the tune and words catching her attention. It's not familiar to her, but it is comforting, and she approaches once Ellana's done, offering a smile.]

A lovely song. Does it come from your home?

[oh. Now that seems fairly indicative.]

[Cloud takes a moment to look around. The world looks close to his own in some ways but there's something just....off about it. Like there's something missing despite everything around them.

As he's looking he bumps into a young boy.]

Oh! Sorry!

'No. My bad. Oh hey! Nice cosplay!'

[The kid smiles and looks like he's about to ask something when his phone pings. He looks at it and his eyes go wide.]

'Guys! There's a Charizard outside!'

[And with that, he and his friends go running off, giggling as they run out the door much to the chagrin of the librarian they pass.]

Yeah, I dunno. How 'bout somebody who actually talks to people? [And who doesn't smell like wet dog at the momemt.]

[Santa releases his hold on Duster's wrists and puffs out his chest a little.]

You don't gotta worry about me. I got the skills to get myself outta a fight if it goes south. I don't plan on sticking around if a fight gets too dangerous.

[His seer combo doesn't do jack shit in a fight, but it'll let him flee from most any battle.]

[Aoi looks around the sparse farming community and turns to Duster with a rare look of pity on his face. Poor guy, growin' up in the middle of fuckin' nowhere.]

Uh, yeah. It's...um...nice.

[Selphie nodded carefully in response.]

Tired but okay. I'll survive though. You?

[There is no chance in hell that Selphie was mentioning the turret self destructing with her in its path. Actually, she wouldn't mention much about her activity in the battle unless prompted. She patted her weapon with a fond smile.]

[She's sure he'll talk to her. They totally bonded over murder shenanigans.]

[Akane drags her brother along. Honestly she kind of doubts Dylas showed up to the fight, but she does want to see if he's okay.]

There might be a secret passage by those rocks. [HE holds up a finger by a group of pillars.] We can start by exploring the perimeter for clues and go on from there.

World: Final Fantasy VIII | Balamb Garden

Welcome to Balamb Garden.

Upon entering this world, you find yourself in what looks like a school or a military academy. And you seem to be a temporary cadet.

Remember that your SeeD exam is coming up and it is time for you to defeat Ifrit in the Fire Cavern. Best to keep your eyes open for that pesky Palitutu as well. But feel free to explore the Garden first.

[Classrooms]

-Food, weapons and magic are prohibited.
-Study panels are shared. Handle with care.
-Leave messages for other students.

[Training Center]

-Proceed with caution. There are real monsters in the training center.
-It is open 24 hours. Entering the ground for reasons other than training is prohibited.
-Do not engage in battles beyond your abilities.
-In particular watch out for the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

[Infirmary]

-Visit the infirmary if you have any health concerns or problems.
-No items may be taken from the infirmary without permission.
-Follow the doctor’s instructions.

[Library]

-Open Hours: 9.00 am - lights out.
-Library usage: All materials are open to public. You may check-out materials at the desk.
-Remain quiet at all times.

[Dormitory]

-SeeDs have priority for single rooms.
-Going out after hours for reasons other than training is prohibited.
-Do not leave personal possessions in common areas.
-There seems to be a Triple Triad tournament happening in someone’s room.

[Cafeteria]

-Open Hours: 9.00 am - 9.00 pm.
-Keep the area clean.
-If late-night meals are required, order them before hand.
-Get them hot dogs.

[SEED EXAM]

Once you’ve acquainted yourself with the Garden it is time to take your SeeD Exam. As you are a cadet you are not permitted to enter the cavern without an instructor or SeeD. You must contact Squall Leonhart, Selphie Tilmitt, [guest star] Zell Dincht or a NPC Instructor to accompany you on your exam.

Once you’ve established a partner head out to the Fire Cavern and begin. Your objective is to defeat Ifrit with minimal assistance from your partner. Use your combat knowledge and fight smart. Good luck.

[Squall eyes her with a suspicious gaze. She was terrible at hiding things.]

[If she didn't want to tell him the truth about how she was feeling then he wasn't going to go out of his way to press her about it.]

We'll see. [He says shortly, looking away from her and at their surroundings.]

Spencer approached the threesome(?), a significant distance between the nerd moogle and his own hero as Sephiroth as the latter had decided it was a good idea to keep his own moogle in sights where Spencer had just so suddenly flitted off.

"-and Miss. Deetz too." The small moogle nods to her, his oversized pom falling in front of his head as usual with such exaggerated movements. "So glad to see that you're unharmed."

Muddy, bloody and just about starting to come down from the combat now that he'd turned that particular skill off, in the meantime, Sephiroth took a long glance over Mary being as her anger was quite obvious. Such a statement of truth that it was, yet really there wasn't anything new to the situation.

"-just as expected, really. There is little to be done but to go forwards now."

It probably told of Spencer's long-haul service at Sephiroth's side along with how many knocks and trials all the Heroes had gone through over the time since they were first summoned to Crystallis this cycle, that the small pale nerd-moogle seemed to be taking the unannounced trip to the Rift and then beyond a little better than other mogs he knew.

Sephiroth was sat down, on the ground nearby while he waited for his energy levels to settle back from the massive drop caused by the deactivation of his Combat Mode; on top of the shocking pain that they'd all felt as one of their boons -of not being able to die- had been forcibly removed from their Crystal.

He held said crystal in his hand, the blue meteo-shape with a chip taken off one of the sharper edges, looking over it concernedly as if he might be able to tell what other damage could have been done by that Darkness that had attacked it.

In the meantime, Spencer approaches Sheena; cautiously pausing as she gets to her feet but then flaps his wings and comes up to her head height. He holds out a Kupo nut, that he'd just so happened to have in his bag when they'd all been sucked into this other realm.

"For Corrine, Kupo...they always make me feel a little better."
