Event || Revelations

Characters: All the Heroes of Light and their Moogles.
Where: Order's Sanctuary, The Interdimensional Rift and their Homeworlds.
When: August 03rd - August 30th

Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

[Being thrown somewhere else new is not doing a lot for K'pandolu's state of mind, but on the bright side she can see the others this time. There was something weird about that voice, too, but K'pandolu puts it aside in favour of picking herself up and looking around for the other Heroes, Sika fluttering by her shoulder.]

Are you all right?

[It had happened all too fast for Duster. He remembered seeing Ultima go off above his head: a bright light with noise filling his head...and then nothingness for a second. Before he knew it, he was floating in a void while the other Heroes argued with a disembodied voice, and now here's here lying on the cold, white ground.

Understandably, he's confused.]

...I don't know. Where are we? Did I die? [Was he in crystal stasis for so long that they managed to reach the end boss without him?]

The Weapon felled you, I think, but- [she reaches out to touch his arm before glancing briefly at the others around them.] All of us seem well enough now. Whatever did this must have had some grace.

As for where we are- I fear I've no idea. [she shrugs, ears drooping.] But it's not the void, which is some small comfort.

[Duster eyes the catte's hand. She feels solid, he's solid, so they should be alive. Just somewhere different.

He sighs in relief.] I guess it can't be all that bad if we're safe together.

[The white surroundings should be unnerving, but Duster rests his hands on his armor and scans the area calmly.]

You think Palitutu was sent here, too...?

Mm. If we stick together, I'm sure we'll find a way through.

[there is something calming about it, the longer she looks. Sika's still floating nearby, though she is eyeing one of those lines of light.

K'pandolu shakes her head, frowning.]

She said something about us finding her. She ought to be somewhere we can reach from here- but there's no doubt it'll be somewhere difficult for us to reach.

[Duster nods. K'pandolu stole the words out of his mouth.]

There might be a secret passage by those rocks. [HE holds up a finger by a group of pillars.] We can start by exploring the perimeter for clues and go on from there.

[by the power of friendship! ~~while I enjoy this earworm~~

She nods, ears flicking forward as she considers.]

That makes sense- it's best to have a marker so you can find those kinds of things again easily, isn't it? Shall we?

I... think? One minute we were standing out in the rain by the Crystal of Fire, the next there was a black void and people all yelling at each other, and then... this.

[Ed makes a sweeping gesture to the area. His moogle, Mogrissa, is latched onto his back of dear life right now.]

[K'pandolu nods, following Ed's gesture as Sika flutters over to offer Mogrissa a few comforting pats.]

Out in the Plains, after we fought the Weapon, there was some sort of rift. I imagine it must have been empowered to draw all the Heroes in, no matter how far away they were…

[she shakes her head, with a small grumbling sound.]

You haven't heard of anything like this place, then, I assume?

Palitutu's doing, right? She's got stronger power than I imagined, then. How did the battle go?

[He looks around and shrugs.]

Afraid I don't have a clue. I'm guessing it's not the afterlife, though.

All of the Heroes were transported away last year, as well… But that was by using the power of the Crystal. I don't know what Palitutu was using- but now, I have to say I'd like to.

[she puffs out a breath, settling back on her heels.]

It was difficult. But I wouldn't have expected anything else when facing down a Weapon like that… The arms were stronger than I expected, but we managed to bring it down. It wasn't completely destroyed, but it won't be in any condition to be used for a long time.

[she hums agreement.]

I do believe the halls of Thal are supposed to have rather more colour, for one.

Everyone seems to have made it here regardless of how it went, though... That's kind of a relief. I won't lie, I was pretty worried. I would have been more of a liability than a help in a battle like that, though.

[He admits that rather sheepishly.]

Halls of Thal? And here I was thinking it was pretty lacking in fire and brimstone for Hell.

Yes… It's strange how it works, isn't it? But on the other hand, you don't have to worry as much about anyone being left behind. [for… what that might be worth.

She shrugs, offering him a smile.]

I'm sure it'd be a mess if all of us were on the battlefield, in any case. I'm glad you and the others in the city were safe.

[she breaks out in a grin, tone teasing.]

Oh, I believe that's the fourth hell. [~~now to wait until anything actually gets said and proves that wrong.~~ She tilts her head, expression settling a little.] Thal keeps the dead, you see. [or… the dead that pray to the Traders at least.]

[Cloud rubs the back of his neck, looking very worn after the battle and the unfolding of this new crisis. His chocobo stands alongside him and noting his partner's discomfort leans in to give the blonde a nudge with his beak.]

Yeah...I think so. I guess I expected her to cheat us somehow, but this...

[what a good bird. K'pandolu reaches out to scratch Zack's neck, keeping her body turned towards the two of them.]

It staggers belief- and all the same, I feel I should have seen this coming. No matter how tough the Weapon was as a foe, of course she wouldn't give up so easily.

[she hates everything. Or- well, almost everything, because Zack is a good bird and Cloud is a good person. Everything about the situation, then.]

… She said something about stopping if we find her. Do you think she'll keep true to that?

[Cloud frowns at the question.]

I don't think any of us can trust her word anymore, if we could since she first betrayed us...well maybe Ramza might try. But I mean if she brought us here then clearly she has another plan.

[He sighs and shakes his head.]

It'll probably be a fight to the death.

… It's good of him to try. [overly optimistic, maybe? Still. She feels a little better for him being the way it is.

She nods, tail twitching out her irritation.]

Somewhere different, somewhere unfamiliar… Truly, what else can we really expect? But… if there's anything I think we can say after this experience, it's that we can pull it off.

Definitely. I still trust in everyone here. We have something she doesn't. More than just the powers from the Jobs and all that. We have each other, and we have the hope that we can change all of this. No matter what she says.

[He knows how foolish he might sounds, but he means all of it. He's not about to accept that they're just a problem for this world. Not when she's been the one killing and sacrificing people. He CAN'T believe that.]

[Whether or not it's foolish, it touches K'pandolu, getting a smile out of her.]

Mm, that's right. Together, we can - no, we will- forge a path out of this.

[she reaches out to touch his shoulder for a moment, smile turning soft.] Thank you, Cloud. I think I needed to hear that.

[After about half an hour sat down and effectively processing everything that just happened, and making sure he wasn't going to fall over from getting to his feet, Sephiroth is just about pulling himself up as K'pandolu asks-]

All things considered, we're still in one piece.

[Spencer hangs back a little behind the shoulder of his Hero, occasionally looking around. He's been brave thus far, but the nervousness is starting to show.]

[she perks up a little before settling again, glad to see him.]

That's good news. Though I think we might have asked a little more- even just the name of where we've ended up, assuming it has one.

[meanwhile, Sika perches on K'pandolu's shoulder and waves to Spencer. Nothing weird's happened yet! They can probably relax a bit, right?]

[Brushing himself down, dried mud coming away from the fabric of his combat pants as he does do, noticeably dusting the pale surroundings they've found themselves in. It's probably a good idea that he doesn't have access to a mirror as his hair is quite literally in the worst state it's ever been in from where he'd been on the floor in the mud a lot from the aftermath of Supernova. Sephiroth then stands back up and tries to collect some of his posture back; he aches but he has to make it pass, they aren't done yet.

He's still not seen Terra around...what does that mean?]

We didn't get much time to process much of anything, let alone ask much in the way of questions...[A marked pause.]...was...everyone there, do you think?

[Spencer doesn't really -see- Saki(?) first time around as he was thinking about something else but afterwards he waves extra to apologize for not seeing her first time around. She's a moogle he doesn't know all that well, but any moogle still with their hero at this point is a gold star in their favor as far as he's concerned.]

[It'll take some doing to get all that back into proper condition, huh. At least this seems to be a space where they can collect themselves, at least for the time being. His example is as encouraging as ever, though.]

If we could have, perhaps that conversation might have ended a little differently. [she's still not sure what that even was, honestly.

She pauses, one hand coming up as she thinks.]

I don't believe everyone was at the battle, but… It seems as though we were all drawn into that other space. [her ears flick back for a moment, concern growing.] Are we missing someone?

[~~My bad~~ Saki looks pleased! She bobs over a little way towards Spencer.] I'm glad to see you're all right, too!

[Still not quite loose enough, Sephiroth swings his arms back and forth before squatting once....twice...three times. K'pandolu might be able to hear his shoulder and knees creak on the first pass but once tension is clicked the next motions are smoother.

Then he comes to a stop as K'pandolu very much catches his drift, allowing the concern hiding behind his own expression to come forward for a moment. He's trying not to let Terra's absence bother him but if she's not here when everyone else is...]

Terra isn't here.

[It's said simply, as Sephiroth tries to keep emotionally not-attached to that statement. He needs a clear head on his shoulders right now.]

[Meanwhile, without his Hero to hide behind the shoulder of Spencer hovers forward with a few frantic beats of his wings and offers something similar to a fistbump to Saki. Being one of the first moogles to have been assigned a Hero of Light to accompany, Spencer sometimes feels like he has to lead a good example and so encouraging other moogles in this uncertain place is important.]

It was pretty rough back there for a moment, huh?

[She doesn't bother hiding her concern, taking a step forward.]

She isn't…? That's… She wasn't at the battle, but… [If the others who weren't at the battle were brought here as well, but Terra isn't- it suggests there's something wrong. K'pandolu bites her lip, tail flicking unease.] Maybe it's a mistake. Maybe that power passed her by. We'll keep an eye out for her.

[Because she dearly hopes it isn't that Terra's fallen into stasis- surely there are too many in stasis already. And for those who Terra is close to, it's an awful thing- with no way to be sure until they see her, and who can say when that might be?]

[Saki returns the gesture, clearly encouraged by it. She's feeling much the better for seeing all the others around.]

It really was…! I thought we were going to all vanish for a moment there! [a delightful thought we're all glad she shared.]
