Event || Revelations

Characters: All the Heroes of Light and their Moogles.
Where: Order's Sanctuary, The Interdimensional Rift and their Homeworlds.
When: August 03rd - August 30th

Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

[White, black and green - Aoi is wearing more than two colors, which makes him look much more fashionable and easier to spot in the snow at night. Not that he would let him wander far, as he hooks his arm around Aoi's and pulls him it. It's warmer this way. Duster doesn't like the cold much.

He saw some kids sledding while on the way to the tailor shop, so once they leave the bakery, he leads Aoi to the right.]

The main part of town's the other way, but there's some things this way.

Ok, lead on.

[He can't even be mad about the dumb outfits, because Duster finally initiated contact. So far, it's been Aoi reaching out to him, never really sure if Duster likes him as much as he likes Duster. His lips twitch up into a smile.

There are sleds lined up in a little rack at the bottom of the big sledding hill. Aoi figures it's fine if they borrow one, long as they bring it back when they're done. Personal property doesn't have the same rules around here. Probably.]

You find with sharing? I figure it'll be easier to learn if we stick together. [Easier to cozy up to one another if they're in the same sled.]

Sure. You can show me how it works.

[Everyone shares whatever they have. It's the rule of small, close-knit communities. Hopefully this one is big enough for two men. Duster quickens his pace, marking his uneven gait on the snow as he drags Aoi. It's been weeks since they had some fun, much less time to be alone together.

If sledding makes Aoi smile, then Duster has to do this more often.]

So are you sitting in the front? Is that how it works?

[Aoi positions the sled at the top of the hill. He picked out a toboggan type sled, instead of one of the faster fliers with steel runners on the bottom. There should be room enough for both.]

Yeah, so I can steer us. You can hold on to me.

[He climbs in the sled, legs bent in front of him. He motions for Duster to climb in behind. He should be able to see over Aoi's shoulders with no trouble if he wants to learn how to steer.]

[...That does look pretty fast, Duster thinks to himself as he takes a seat behind Aoi. Better to hold on tight. He scoots his butt closer and bends his knees, but positioning his legs right behind Aoi doesn't give him a good grip.

...So he'll have to spread his legs. This shouldn't be something worth pausing over, but...there's a difference between squeezing up to a friend and literally putting your boyfriend between your legs.

Duster releases a breath he didn't know he was holding and slides his feet on either side of Aoi. Arms around his torso. He hopes he can't hear him breathing, despite his face resting on the side of his head.]

...Got it.

[Don't worry, Duster. Aoi doesn't mind the position a bit. He leans back onto Duster's chest. Warm.]

You ready? Make sure you hold on tight.

[And then he leans forward to get their sled started rolling down the hill.]

[Should he wrap his legs around Aoi instead of keeping them to the side? Nope, he'll just lean in and grip onto him tighter.

Going down a steep hill is nothing after falling out of the sky twice, but even then, the first second is always the scariest. His body pushes against Aoi's back just as the sled tips over and descends.]

Woah!

[This is actually really fun when his life isn't in peril! Duster grins and presses his cheek again'st Aoi's.]

[Aoi laughs as they plummet down the hill, building up to breakneck speed. When they reach the bottom of the hill, he leans his body to the right, steering the sled to the side to help slow them down. He turns his head to press a quick kiss on Duster's lips before he hops up from their sled.]

C'mon, we're going again. You can be in front if you want.

[Duster waits for the heat from Aoi's lips to evaporate before letting go. This was over too fast, and they have to go for at least another round. And then kiss some more.]

Sounds good. [He covers his cold mouth with the yellow scarf, pushes himself off, and grabs hold of the reign.] How much force do you need to make it turn like that?

[He's been following Aoi without paying much attention, but now that he looks at the hill...it's going to be a long walk.

At least its worth it.]

[Aoi shrugs. It's not a science.]

Depends how fast you wanna turn. You just lean until you get where you wanna be. If you gotta make a sharp turn, you pull the rope, too.

[He puts a hand on top of the hand Duster holds the reign in and gives it a quick squeeze.]

It's not hard. Just don't run us into a tree.

[Leaning, then. That means it shouldn't too much to get the sled to move.]

I can manage that.

[He leans forward, gearing for this hike up the sledding hill. It shouldn't be that bad for a guy as fit as Duster, but the snow does make it difficult to keep upright, and he falters in his steps a few times on the way to the top. Eventually, he makes it, breathing a little heavy.]

Hold on, let me pull it back. [Just to make sure that the sled doesn't slide down while they're in the middle of climbing on. He pulls it about a foot away from the sudden curve before sitting down and crossing his legs.]

[Ok, maybe they shouldn't go too many more times, if Duster's having such a hard time walking in the snow. But he's gotta give him the chance to steer the sled.]

Ok. [It's pretty amusing, watching Duster position the sled so carefully. If there were seatbelts, he'd probably be buckling up right now.

Aoi slides in behind him, having no problem whatsoever with settling in with one leg on either side of Duster's. He wraps his arms around Duster's chest and stretches his neck forward so he can put his chin on Duster's shoulder and whisper in his ear.]

I'm ready. Show me what ya got.

[Duster's hands unnecessarily tighten on the rope. Aoi's presence makes him warm all over, but whispering is too much. His body subconsciously relaxes int Aoi's, and his voice lowers.]

Let's go.

[The descent is easier the second time, though the thrill is still there. His stomach drops with the speed they're going and with Aoi right behind him, but it's not a fearful kind. His mind clears, and all he knows is the snowy landscape rapidly disappearing and the cold wind in his face.

...And the tree line. Duster leans to the left, but without tugging on the rope, the sled doesn't curve enough. They're going to crash.]

Hup! [It's all or nothing! He pulls and leans as hard as he can, sending the sled and the two of them jerking away at the last moment and straight into a snow bank.]

[Aoi tumbles out of the sled as they crash, letting go of his hold on Duster so he doesn't drag his boyfriend with him.]

Awwww, shit. [He's laughing as he curses, though. That was pretty terrible, but he's having so much fun. He picks himself up and dusts off the worst of the snow from his body.]

Babe, you ok? [Aoi offers him a hand up, grinning. His cheeks are pink with the cold, but it's fine.]

Pfeh. [Some snow got into Duster's mouth, and it's awful. At least dirt doesn't hurt his teeth.]

Yeah, I'm okay. [He grips Aoi's wrist and sits up.] That was close...

[Aoi brushes snow off Duster, too. He's not bothered. Wipeouts are a part of sledding.]

It was fine. It was fun. [He is shivering a little now, though. Or maybe it's adrenaline.]

You wanna try somethin' else? We can move on if sledding's not your thing.

[...He feels so awkward standing still while Aoi wipes Duster and brushes off the remaining snow off of Aoi's arms at the same time.]

No, its fine. I'd like to try it one more time, only without falling off.

[He's gotta give Aoi a good time. After his first try, he has to do better.]

[Aoi leans forward and kisses Duster again, lingering a little longer this time. For warmth.]

Ok, let's try again. Just...aim away from the trees and we'll be fine.

[Duster relaxes into the kiss. Yeah, it's for warmth, he tells himself as he parts his lips to taste a little more.

He pulls away slowly and silently. They need to do this again, but he grabs the rope one more time and turns to the hill. He knows how to walk up a mountain of snow this time, and he manages to reach the top with minimum slipping.]

[Aoi follows behind Duster. He's cute when he gets all determined. When the reach the top of the hill, he climbs in the sled and scoots his butt to help position the sled for a straight shot down the hill.]

'kay, this should be good. Get us to the bottom of the hill, and I'll show you some mistletoe next.

[When Aoi scoots his, Duster stretches his legs and pushes himself back into Aoi.]

Hold on.

[He pushes the sled, and down they go. He lets the sled take them wherever it wants for the first half of the ride, but as the houses of Christmas Town disappear behind the trees, he leans to the left, and the sled slightly turns with him, Instead of careening to the side, it gently curves. Snow flies away as the right edge digs into the snow, and the two miss the trees.

Their elbows do brush against the snowbank, but at least they aren't covered in snow.]

That was awesome! I'm the best damned sledding teacher out there.

[They could, like, get up and stand in the cold snow again, but for the moment, Aoi stays in the sled, with his chest pressed close to Duster's back and his legs stretched around Duster's. It's comfy and warm.]

So, you don't know any Christmas traditions, do you?

[The temptation to troll is so strong.]

[He turns his head, not minding sitting down in the middle of the snow.] We don't have Christmas where I'm from.

[It's like the plot to a dumb holiday movie.]

I mean, we have a winter solstice festival, but we just eat a lot of food and talk to each other. It's...different.

Well, there's a ton of lore to Christmas. I'll get you up to speed. C'mon.

[He nudges Duster with his leg as he scoots back to stand up. He can fill Duster in on the main traditions on the way to the sled stand to return their toboggan. He's keeping an eye out for archways and doors where somebody might've hung a sprig of mistletoe.]

Like what? Santa Claus?

[He knows a little from looking through the list of jobs, but anything Aoi says will have much more weight.]
