Johnny is knocked back by the fire, but manages to stay on his feet. The compulsion to take up his lance and jump into battle was getting strong, but he wanted to save it. He knew it probably wouldn't take long for his Limit Break to get set off, and then him consciously being able to help was over.

After a moment of hesitation, he picked his guitar back up and started on the Imperial Anthem. Fitting, considering their surroundings. Anyone whose equipped Jobs included Gunners, Magitek Knights, Ninjas and Illusionists would have their stats boosted by 75%.

Owowowowow! Nanami screamed as she scrabbled to her feet and away from the edge, clutching her staff in one had and her sword in the other. "Fine, I am putting out this fire." She started summoning again, quickly calling Leviathan, then, in an added fit of pique, added the call of Hades using High Summoner. Sure, status effects were petty, and the healing had brought her up to feeling better, but seriously, what the hell?

The downside was she was out of eidolons for the moment, but she'd make due. "How does that feel!"

Sparks lucked out in this attack, being in a Fire-aligned Magitek Armor. He managed to withstand the attack and stay put, and now the new song being played managed to reinvigorate him. For the other Heroes, he dropped a quick Healing Force before rushing at Chaos, readying an Excalibur attack.

"Sheena!"

Without hesitation, Albel leaped in front of the ninja and attempted to cover her as best he could with his body. Because he loved her.

Like his father loved him.

It wasn't quite the immediately incinerating strength of an elder dragon, but he screamed as it burned. His mind flashed back to the past when he was a child, helpless as flames engulfed him, his father's body taking the brunt of the attack until it was gone... he was gone... his arm was gone. That day had haunted his nightmares since then, but today rather than be paralyzed by that fear, he moved. He'd conquered it with the help of those who had become friends.

He breathed heavily, his legs weak but still standing as the nanomachines slowly began to stitch his skin back together. If that was the power that Chaos had, he'd use Runic to prepare for the next attack. But Haste at least granted him the opportunity to throw an angry Judgment at the beast as he turned from Sheena.

Was it really the end? Was there no hope left? Flynn bit his lower lip as he struggled to stand upright, but when he became aware of Yuri's unwavering determination right by his side, he couldn't help but smile.

Yuri who had been thrown an inch or two back with burning pain was still holding his ground. It was his fault for being up front with the rest of the heroes trying to be a middle ground. Flynn joined him and now they both suffered for it, but as Flynn glanced over at him, he couldn't help but grin back at him with his usual arrogant grin. It's not over yet. All the other Heroes were betting their all into this. Yuri was going to do the same thing and he was going to do with his best friend.

"Alright! you ready Flynn?!"

Yuri glanced over at Flynn as he said that. They both knew was the time. If they were only going to do this once, this would be the single most important time to do it. There's no holding back since Chaos certainly wasn't.

They sparred together, practiced together, fought together, hated each other, and - though they would never say it out loud - loved each other. In this foreign land neither of them could call home, the spiral of destruction had to stop. If they were going to go out, they were going to go out fighting - not as two opposing forces, but as a single unit that would shine a beacon into the world, supporting each other instead of competing with one another.

"Let's go! Yuri!"

Flynn activated the secret technique of the Overlimit shared by the Imperial Knights in the form of a skill, engulfing both the Vigilante and the Imperial Commandant Jobs into a focused, bright aura that pulled away the surge protector that kept their limits in check. Darting to opposite sides of Chaos, both moved perfectly in sync as they jammed the ends of their blades into the crusty, melting ground. The auras within them spilled into the blades, forming a gigantic glyph beneath Chaos, shooting up magical energy into a gigantic pillar of energy.

"This is it!" They both shouted.

In the blink of an eye, Yuri and Flynn darted straight ahead, instantaneously switching places as they used their edges to slice through Chaos as best as they could, the glyph still activated. With a powerful push off the ground, both swordsmen jumped into the air as they gathered energy into their blades. From Yuri's blade, a blue energy sparked - from Flynn's sword, a golden aura emerged.

"We'll show you!" They both shouted, unleashing their bolts of energy toward Chaos, the two beams intertwining as a helix, meeting with the glyph beneath the monstrosity in a grand explosion. "Pierce! Twin... Wave!"

They both shouted joining the mass of Limit Breaks from the other Heroes of Light.

"Fuck!" Reno yelped, dropping to the ground and rolling to try to put the flames out. Even with the abilities of a Crystallis Job, he was only wearing a suit after all. It was the smell of singed hair that really set him off, though.

"You'll pay for that!" he snarled, running forward to use Life Thief against Chaos to heal himself. And since Haste was active, he decided he'd use Master Thief, too. He didn't expect to get anything, but hell, why not try?

All of that had hurt and Lydia was grateful that she'd equipped the jobs she had. Vampire was her most familiar job--almost second nature at this point, but sadly there wasn't much she could likely do. The sudden burst of flames and the wind knocked her over and off her feet, but she stayed on the platform for now.

Then she heard Ira, and saw him lunge. Getting to her feet and starting to move towards him, as she felt the Cura wash over her. She was not a fighter, not like him--but she could help somewhat. Moving to stay by him, sprinting if she had to. "Heal yourself, Ira." It's stern, before she's turning to Chaos--and casting Absorb Stats once more. Then calling out loud. "Someone has a temper!" Thanks to the spells that brought about Haste on the Heroes, she called on another of her vampiric skills and cast Charm. No harm in trying, right?

Thank goodness Hisui was a long-range fighter. The fire pillar fucking hurt, but it wasn't anything he hadn't dealt with before. "Final Embrace!" Casting the advance water elemental arte, the main body of the icicle was aimed at Chaos, but the fringes of the arte should have at least cooled down the fire in the immediate area. It wasn't as fancy as the other stuff people were slinging around, but it hopefully did some damage.

Sheena hadn't seen Albel when the attack came because her head was down, nor heard his voice over the howl of the wind. Nor had she seen him as she Summoned, eyes still burning from the pain as she hardly waited for the potion to take effect before acting. It wasn't until he had turned from her that she realized what he had done; why she hadn't been as damaged as those around her.

He had protected her. In a way she never would have expected or asked him to.

"Albel!" she cried, rushing over to him, his labored breathing making her brows knit in concern. "You Idiot! You really have to stop doing things like that you know! Are you all right?" And she wasn't just asking about his physical well-being, either.

This was Sheena, folks. She yells her love and concern at people.

Lailah couldn't do much as her being was currently one with Chrom's, but the battle was just as exhilarating. Thankfully fire was her domain - while Chrom's attacks wouldn't do as much damage due to being imbued with the element of fire, at the very least he was taking mitigated damage from fire as well. Sir Chrom, she directed her thoughts at her partner, My strength is yours. It matters not the worlds we hail from or the labels we place upon ourselves, you are a Shepherd, one who acts as my vessel. Focus your heart, and we shall be victorious! Let's end this cycle once and for all! She relinquished all control, allowing Chrom full movement as her power poured into him.

In Chrom's mind, Lailah had done more than enough. For once in his blessed stay on this world, at long last, he was not on fire. Moreover, he wasn't even as damaged as the others might be so long as the Fire Seraphim had linked her power to his.

Still, whatever he experienced, she likely felt as well, so he braced himself with a brief Cura spell to make sure his partner was unharmed.

He wanted to ask her if she was all right, but after hearing her voice, he nodded once in silent determination.

"Right," he agreed, shifting his stance. The melding of Falchion with the entirety of his right arm was flickering with Lailah's flames. Though he was hesitant to use her true name, knowing the weight that it carried, it seemed like there was no better time, and no better cause. Garland had to be stopped. "Together, then! Guide my blade, Fethmus Mioma!" Even as he said it, he felt the purity of their bond grow that much brighter, and the flames on his sword burned like an inferno.

Chrom leaped at Chaos, a primal shout tearing out of his throat as he swung the massive flaming blade with quick flowing strokes. The tattered and singed cloak billowed out behind him with his powerful movements as metal sang out against metal.

Saori let go of Ruby when the smoke bomb cleared, just barely dodging a pillar of fire. She pulled out a wide strip of paper with an brush ink drawing of a fox carrying a bushel of rice in its mouth. She kept these special ofuda from her home world hidden for such an occasion.

The black ink changed to red and it gave off a golden aura before burning to ashes. Inari's Ofuda would provide a small luck or crit boost for two more rounds of attacks. In the mean time, she summoned a Clone. One armed herself with the machine gun and began to fire, flanking Chaos's right while she circled his left while casting Water Ninjustsu at him.

With Flight, Ace had easier time facing the pillars than others, Of course, that didn't mean he was safe, by far, for the powerful gusts of wind thwarted his plans and reduced his mobility greatly, but though he'd been hurt, at least he was no longer risking falling off the shaking platform.

Unfortunately, he'd also been separated from his partner, so his gaze was drawn to the Selphie’s dramatic attempts at shielding Tear with her own body. Even though she resisted, it was clear the girl's current state wouldn't allow her to do that for too much longer.

“I'll take it from there. Heal yourself.” Belatedly, the cadet realised he wasn't even moving his lips, he'd been this swept up in the moment - it was a telepathic message sent Selphie’s way, and, well, certainly a way to ensure that the girl would hear him.

And he meant his words, following up with the Vanish skill to materialise in front of the pair. With luck, he should be able to withstand some of the upcoming attacks thanks to the knowledge of Excellence. For now, however, he could not allow himself to remain idle, using Partial Summoning to call forth Shiva while he waited for the melodist to regain her strength.

Selphie heard the message in her mind as she steadied her shield. Now wasn't the time to panic about an ability she had never heard of as In the Red kicked in for the brunette. She quickly used the boost from the haste spell to Dualcast Cura on herself before nodding briefly as Ace materialized in front of her. The spell took most of the bite from the burns that still lingered as dashed ahead with another faint nod.

Without a second thought, Selphie unleashed Ice Brand from her sword at Chaos.

That was an unpleasant reminder of the primals she'd fought against in Eorzea. K'pandolu gritted her teeth and tried to set her feet against the pushback. She wasn't falling off the platform, at least, and she looked to see if anyone else looked too close, ready to try to grab them if they needed to be, as she activated Shushin. She'd had some vivid visions of what could have been against Titan, when they'd come up against him, and she didn't want to see it happen in actuality.

"Make sure you have space should he try that again!" she snapped out, and cast Blizzara.

While Parasraya didn't fight, she cast a healing spell on Ramza that restored his health by 30%. That wouldn't do if this one were to die, after all. She then proceeded to cast the very same spell on herself, whilst she carefully tried to stay behind the Heroes of Light using shields so as to take advantage of their protection.

Rukia found it much easier to breathe all of a sudden, and there was no need to look around to see who had cast the healing spell at her. She could feel the unique traces of Jade's reiatsu permeating the healing magic, and it not only bolstered her health, but her resolve as well. They were united in this fight.

She straightened, opening her mouth to speak the dual incantations to summon Hades and Odin back into the fray.

"O masked ruler of all that has shed mortal flesh..."

There she goes again...

Even though multiple attacks do hit Chaos, the beast doesn’t seem to relent in its assault, not does it appear to be wounded. However, there is a way for the Heroes of Light to notice what it is weak to. It screams in pain upon being hit by attacks dealing 03%+ damages. It flinches upon being hit by attacks dealing from 01% to 2.99% damages. Attacks dealing from 0.50% damages to 0.99% damages causes it to roars. Anything below 0.50% doesn’t get any reactions from the beast. And unfortunately, there is naught to steal from the beast himself, maybe from Garland… Regardless, it follows up with two attacks:

Chaos rushes forward and grabs a Hero of Light: Akane. He crushes her into his hand before propelling into the air and smashing her onto the ground.
The impact point of Akane’s body is Tear’s very position.
Anyone around Tear will be hit with ripple effects from the attack, dealing moderate damages.

Akane is dead! There isn’t much left of her…
Tear is dead!

Chaos roars and a powerful burning wind encircles the area: it pushes aside most Heroes and forcibly pushes together ten Heroes in particular, stacking them.
The stacked Heroes are Kaji, Albel, Twilight, Duster, Kidd, Rialynn, Pyrrha, Mikleo, Nanami and Sparks. Everyone else is safe.
Chaos jumps before them as the wind keeps them together, swiping his tail at them and throwing them off the platform, out of reach.

Kaji fades into the abyss! He will no longer able to participate in the battle.
Albel fades into the abyss! He will no longer able to participate in the battle.
Twilight fades into the abyss! She will no longer able to participate in the battle.
Duster fades into the abyss! He will no longer able to participate in the battle.
Kidd fades into the abyss! She will no longer able to participate in the battle.
Rialynn fades into the abyss! She will no longer able to participate in the battle.
Pyrrha fades into the abyss! She will no longer able to participate in the battle.
Mikleo fades into the abyss! He will no longer able to participate in the battle.
Nanami fades into the abyss! She will no longer able to participate in the battle.
Sparks fades into the abyss! He will no longer able to participate in the battle.

Characters that were cast out of the platform cannot be brought back through any means—Healing spells, life spells or other methods won’t work as they’ve disappeared. All those characters are still very much alive and are in no danger of being killed for real. They will all return by the beginning of Endgame Phase 2, once the Apocalypse Event is over.

Jack shouts out loud as Nanami is forcibly pulled out of his protection, the exact thing he was trying to prevent. "NO!"

Nanami, Sparks, Ki...Mary. He stares in shock as they are just removed, vanishing into the abyss, without even a chance to fight back. This. He didn't know about this. They're just...gone. Nanami just wanted to go home. Sparks won't get to see Earth again. Mary. There's so much left unresolved for her.

Jack raises the greatsword, and he leaves Parasraya behind to charge at Chaos, letting out a very uncharacteristic yell of rage. Forget this. The time for caution is over as of right now. The edge of the light-enchanted greatsword shines as Jack attacks with Shock twice.

Deadpool blinked in surprise as he attacks... did jack. Even worse, he ended up getting caught in the shockwave that killed Akane and Tear. He couldn't help but look up and wince as the two.

"Ooooh... yeah, that's going to be a tough one to walk off." Deadpool said, getting to his feet. "Okay, so hitting him with Judgement isn't going to work, huh? Alright, let's see..."

And he'll take notice that ice really hurts him.

"Alright, time for Naruto handsigns!" And Deadpool starts doing random seals to unleash two Ice Ninjutsus onto the beast.

Akane... Tear... The ninja's anger grew as they were treated more as victims of a childish tantrum than a battle. Then Albel started to be pulled from her, and she tightened her grip, skidding as she held on for barely a minute. "No!"

Then he and others were gone. Twilight, Mary, Nanami...

And Sheena went from angry to pissed. "Chaos!" she roared, downing an Elixir before once again using High Summoner to call Shiva and Odin back into the fray.

"Don't worry about-" Ira began, glancing back at Lydia before continuing to search for Mary. He was about to Doublecast Cura on himself and Mary, after all. It was going to be-

Then he sees Tear and Akane, and he screams out his friend's name. He sees Mary (and several others, though his mind registers her specifically) vanish into the abyss. Something in him lurched, and with it, so too did his rage. Grimacing, he turned his full attention to Chaos again, hidden blade the Assassin had given him lowering into view as he lunged forward.

"Welcome oblivion!" Darkness coated the blade as he did so, making the blade seem even longer as he brought it and Soul Eater down one after another with Continuous Swings, before escaping to the middle of the room with Dark Corridor at the cost of 5% of his own health.

Ruby could only watch helpless as the ten heroes were scooped up and disappeared into oblivion, one of them being Pyrrha.

Again. Again. She couldn't protect Pyrrha, even with Jaune here.

"PYRRHAAAAAAAAAA!" Ruby cried out, her heart feeling wrenched watching her friend disappear. "CHAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS!"

Ruby raced towards the beast once more, replacing her scythe with her Galactic Knight's energy saber, performing two Shocks in retaliation.

"GIVE ME BACK MY FRIEND! GIVE ME BACK PYRRHA!"

"Light, ice, and water!" Chiaki calls out after watching the effects of their attacks closely. "Those are his weaknesses!"

And in order to help them exploit at least one of those weaknesses, she once again plays the Pac Man Theme, providing the Heroes +50% damage on their light elemental attacks while reducing the damage they take from Chaos' dark elemental attacks by the same amount. And with her second action, she capitalizes on that bonus by sending a Holy spell Chaos' way. She's trusting they have enough healers this time around that they'll be able to bring Tear and Akane back around.

No. No. No no no no. Eyes went wide in horror as Chaos knocked the heroes off and she saw Mary among one of them. Saori gripped the sword in her hand. A fire burned in her eyes. Hell has no wrath compared to a goddess angered.

"You bastard!" The clone ceased fire and together they cast Ice Ninjutsu and Water Ninjutsu. Chaos will taste her blade now.
