YUNA: healing + rescuing civilians!

There was so much confusion and chaos, Yuna had lost sight of everyone she knew after the airship's touchdown. Her heart was still heavy with seeing the blond blitzer in crystal stasis, but there was no time to feel those regrets now. Perhaps she hadn't expected it, or maybe at least, not so soon -- that the empire would invade with a force like this. Wasn't it just weeks ago that everyone had been able to relax and spend time with one another...?

Eyes closed, she held her hands out over the leg of a elderly woman, the air between them glowing as her cura spell mended her wounds as best the quick work could. "Now go, quickly!" she pleaded, helping the woman up to her feet as an Imperial soldier stomped its way over towards them from behind...

This time, Rikku did not need to wait for Mochina to tell her where Yuna would be. The guardian ran straight for the screams, stomach churning at the sight of the ones who were already lost.

It was so much like when she'd lost Home.

No time for sentiment. Save who you can.

Spotting her cousin and the looming threat, the ninja sprang into action. She soundlessly closed the distance between herself and the enemy with the enhanced speed and stealth her job offered, unsheathing her twin daggers. He wasn't playing nice, neither would she.

Just as he sought to close in on the unaware healer and helpless woman, Rikku came in from behind, rolling as she arced her daggers in calculated strike, attempting to slice through both his Achilles tendons.

"Eyaaah!" it was the cry of the soldier that alerted Yuna first, and she spun around quickly, giving the woman an encouraging push as she did. "Go!" she repeated, and held her staff out in front as she limped away. She scanned the area from side to side before nodding to her cousin, acknowledging that she had been able to finish her spells, and could again assume offense as well. She looked down at the crumpled human form in front of them, and closed her eyes, looking away.

The soldier cried out, cursing the heroes of light, as Yuna stepped away, refraining from even doling out a simple Cure, though it was against her better judgement. "Rikku," she breathed, "you're okay..." she'd lost sight of everyone when the airship had gone down.

Rikku rose from the crouch her spinning strike had landed her in, flicking her daggers to fling off the enemies blood as best they could. She payed the fallen soldier no heed. He was lucky she did not like killing unnecessarily. Although with the rising smoke and flames he may well eventually get eaten up by the fire his own troops brought - unless he found a way to crawl through them.

She nodded grimly, "Yunie..." Clenching the hilts of her daggers tightly, she looked over her cousin for signs of injury. "Stay near me, ok?"

There was a nod from the mage, as she moved alongside her guardian, a deep frown on her lips. "Some of the citizens are still trapped in these buildings... We -- should help them, as we move forward -- if we can."

While there was a undeniable naiveté that Yuna was known for, mass confusion, chaos and death... those were things she certainly knew about. There would be those that they couldn't save, just as there always had been, but... if those still alive could benefit from their help, then she just had to try. "All the soldiers are coming from that direction," there was a nod to the south, "that must be... where their base is, right?"
