Given their situation, being in the midst of battle, MarKus would be forgiven for not having the time to inspect Masamune that closely as the sword was far from trash. It's legendary nature aside, that sword had been arguably the best caliber of blade available on Gaia and even since Sephiroth had arrived to Crystallis he'd been taking care of it like he had always done. Sure it was more than a little battle-scarred currently due to the fact he'd been fighting for nearly three days straight but it was certainly not going to break any time soon. The gleam caught all down the long, sharp edge was still undeniable.

Sephiroth had managed to scrape his legs underneath him and get to his feet as the chilling air of Diamond Dust swept around the area out from the blue-skinned eidolon. The cold burned at his tired eyes but thankfully he was far enough out from the activity that he was relatively safe. His gaze found the spider-robot, -the other soldiers' dead bodies littering the space around them- noting how it seemed to struggle with it's regeneration in the wake of Shiva's attack. Kind of half-going through the moves to do so but then the energy not stretching far enough.

It was probably a good thing that MarKus couldn't see the immediate scowl from behind Sephiroth's helmet at the way that the pommel-end of Masamune's handle was bashed against his breastplate along with the accompanying comment. Just who did this guy even think he was talking to? 'Get back to work-'- how rude could this guy get? 'Work it til it breaks'- hmph, whatever.

What resulted was nothing but a half-snort of a grunt as Sephiroth closed his hand around the handle presented, and both pulled harshly away from MarKus and stepped into a stance away from him. Apparently having little regard to how close MarKus was to the keen edge of his sword, but in reality having perfect control; even though MarKus might have expected it to cut him, it did not. Still, it expressed how unimpressed he was without causing any injury.

"You should get back." He commented lowly, with just a hint of sarcasm before Sephiroth turned his attention completely back to the robot, resetting the grip on his sword. Spirit Surge took a beat longer than he liked for it to be cast, but gritting his teeth and blowing air out of his nose Sephiroth executed Leap once more-

-he came down Masamune first, like a great pincer into the middle of the mass of metal that was still trying to execute it's self repair.

"Luffy?!?! I thought you were away from the robot!"

Ib can't quite keep the frustration from her voice. It's almost as if Luffy is determined to be in the line of fire every time she attacks this thing. She's starting to wonder if he's doing this on purpose...

But at least Shiva seems to have put a dent in the enemy forces. And Sephiroth looks poised to do a lot of damage to the robot. So they might just make it out of this one.

But now she isn't entirely sure what to do next. Not wanting to cast anything near any other allies she hesitates, waiting to see how things develop.

A light sheen of sweat covered the guardian as the battle wore on, "That all ya got?" she goaded a soldier after dodging the swing of his blade. Flustered, the swordsman lunged in an ill timed strike. The ninja quickly countered, arcing her twin daggers so the dull sides rested against her forearms, she twirled in a deadly dance. Rikku was already running forwards to intercept the nearest enemy when her previous foe fell, clutching reddened hands to his throat.

Shiva's appearance caught her by surprise, she was keeping a constant eye on her time separated cousins - it had not dawned on her that there would be other Summoners. A callous mistake, she should have been running back when she was running forwards. Her quickened breaths now fogged the air as the Aeon's magic built. Uh oh - she really needed to get out of the line of fire. When Yuna's warning sounded, the ninja was already trying to retreat, but her foe was not having it.

Her opponent's longsword came down in a heavy overhead strike, Rikku just barley blocked it by criss crossing her daggers. It left her prone, and he quickly gained the upper hand, lunging with a superior strength. Her arms shook with strain as the blade drew closer to biting into her. In a do or die moment she ducked, twisting the daggers as best she could. The strength the soldier had been bringing down on Rikku worked against him as he stumbled forwards. It was all she needed, a swift spinning kick took the soldier to the ground where his heavy armor left him slow.

Not bothering with a kill strike, the blonde jumped up and dashed away as fast as her legs would take her, feeling a flash of intense cold at her back when the spell was unleashed. Her previous foe frozen instantaneously in its wake.

She glanced between her cousins with an embarrassed wince. Close one. Leave it to her to nearly get caught in friendly fire...er, ice. It made her appreciate how easy it was to fight with the other Guardians - but then they had the benefit of countless battles to learn each other.
