Those words had said sheepish look increasing; scratching at the side of his head, he couldn't even argue. It was true, after all. So, he could only look down and give an acknowledging nod, at first.

"You're right... Trust me, it won't happen, again. I guess I just... forgot. Maybe it's partially thanks to the world I arrived on, after vanishing from Auldrant. It had been... pretty much every person for themselves, there. Whenever you lingered somewhere too long, you...endangered your life, even more. So it was either push yourself to your limit and possibly... die, or... up your chances of being killed."

Why he just said that, he wasn't entirely sure. Either way, his expression was darkening just a bit, before he looked away. He decided to just move on to that question, before too many questions could be asked, "They headed in that direction, but I'm supposed to be meeting Gaara in an area over there."

He was pointing to his right.

Kidd glanced off down one of the streets. The sounds of fighting were picking up again. It would be smart to get moving before they were caught up in a new skirmish. Fortunately it wasn't the same direction Luke was pointing in. She straightened up, ready to run, and checked to make sure her weapons were all in order.

"I was headed in that direction myself. I'll go with you and watch your back. As for that other world, I'm sorry to hear it was like that. I guess this is a lot like that now too. The thing is here we're fighting to protect the peace this city has. Hopefully we'll all be able to rest easy soon enough."

She smiled and offered him a hand to help him to his feet, "If anything is worth fighting for, it's the ability to live free. How you fight is your choice too. Just so long as you don't lay down and give up. That's how I see it anyway."

He heard it, too. Luke was already checking his own weapons and supplies, as well as ensuring the flute was where he could easily access it. In case he needed to call for Ion, in the event he needed to send a message, of course. There was always a chance he could lose that thing in the middle of a fight.

Those words had his expression brightening faintly. After a nod, he was responding, "Alright, thanks."

After a very short pause, he reached to accept the help. It was once he was to his feet, he responded properly to everything that had just been said, "I never plan to give up. I have...too many things to fight for, even if they aren't on this world. Not to mention, too many people would be disappointed in me. I believe that's something we were all given, from the day we were born -- the ability to make our own decisions and carve our own paths in life. I don't plan on wasting that birth right!"

Grinning just a bit, he shifted his stance and rested his hand on the hilt of his blade. He appeared... to maybe have pepped up quite a bit, thanks to their talk, "Alright... let's go."
