Characters: All the Heroes of Light participating in the event.
Where: Magitek Research Facility; Sixth District of Aqures Ixen.
When: The 22nd of September.
Summary: A letter from Artemicion calls the Heroes of Light for help! Little do they know that they will inadventenly become trapped in the Magitek Facility. The OOC Post for detailed explanations can be found here.

[Kobato had kept her arms close to herself as she slowly but surely edged herself towards the others, wanting to keep close and safe. When she saw something come out of the pods she couldn't help but scream. What on earth were they?]

They don't look very happy, but what are they? Are they people covered in crystal or what?

[She moves to take a small step back, still trying her best to not be herself right now all the while staring at the crystal things as more came out of their pods.]

What do we do now? We have to do something before whatever is on the other side of the door gets in.

[Zelda's fingers curl around her staff as she begins to cast shield around each person. As she does a shield flashes around them and then fades from sight.]

That should help some.

[She is still learning her new skills but she is a decent healer.]

I also have a sword if we need it.

[He'd been so ready to have to leap into combat when that first pod erupted open and the creature emerged, that it was rather jarring having to reign in that first reaction. Strange as it was that the strange crystalline creature took a moment looking down before it looked up to glare at them. Was it going to attack actually? It didn't seem all that hostile or surely it would already have done so-]

[Thankfully Zelda's shield then flashed around him so Sephiroth felt a little safer. Not before time as the heavy sound of metal hitting metal was more alarming than the other pods opening, that door probably wouldn't hold them back for long.

He's taking a risk, having to turn from the majority of the pods like that and he knows it, and silently he hopes that the blue creatures won't all of a sudden decide to attack them while he's occupied with a robot incoming. Nevertheless it's going to have to be dealt with as it happens.]

[ Suddenly the smashing on the door came to an end as the door exploded; two Mech Guard and two Mech Gunner entering the facility, one of them respectively moving to attack the characters in the room: the Mech Guard trying to physically attack them and the Mech Gunner shooting bullets at them.

In the meantime, the crystalline humanoid starts walking toward the group, and seemingly charge a purple energy-- They do seem to be hostile. ]

[Kobato had gotten her staff now as she knew she would need to get involved, but didn't have much of a clue as to how to actually use any of her abilities, she she knew she had to suck it up and help right now.

But the moment the Mech started to attack she couldn't help but duck and cover her head with her hands. She was pretty much useless until she was told to do anything. After all she did have some summoning abilities she hasn't quite figured out.]

[Zelda watches as Kobato curls up on the ground. She pulls her sword from her side and walks forward next to Sephiroth.]

I'll hold off this side.

[Her eyes stay on the crystal creature as she speaks.]

Kobato, don't be scared. We will protect you.

[Zelda's voice is filled with confidence. She believes in those she is with and she isn't ready to let these things hurt her friends.]

[Not another one who had no idea what they were capable of with the Jobs given to them. Typical. Except unlike against the Chocobo Eater there are significantly less of them in this group. At least Zelda seems to know more; what comfort that could be as the robots move in as expected to attack.]

Look out, or you're going to get killed. [There is no time for hand holding. Kobato had better learn fast; there is no cover for her to hide in and with multiple enemies closing in, though Sephiroth is confident in the abilities and strength that he does have, he knows he's not at his best.

With only a pause to cast Armor Break first, Sephiroth sweeps in from the front towards the first Mech Guard, using it as a cover for the rain of bullets incoming from behind it, and proceeds to attack. Someone is going to have to do something about the ranged attacks though - preferably before whatever the crystal beings are channeling power for gets let off.]

[Kobato looked up slightly before noticing that moving might be a good idea. So getting up she quickly moves towards where Zelda had gone to, sticking to behind her before she got hit. She gripped her staff rightly, still unsure of how to do any of her jobs. If someone had the same job it would have been much easier right now.]

I-I can help but um.... How does one summon? Do I just wave my stick or something?

[She knew she could do it... She just hadn't a clue how and she was getting more and more worried about those crystal people.]

[ The first Mech Guard will fall quite easilly, though the others will still be standing and attacking. In the meantime, the crystal creature unleash their attack: a purple wave that descends unto the characters. It doesn't seem to do anything, but it slowly drains their life energy and exhausts them: five more minute with that and they may as well be dead. ]

[Zelda doesn't wait for the purple wave to settle, she steps forward towards the crystal creatures swinging her sword across in a horizontal arc. She feels the affects of the shots being fired as well as the slightly weakening from the wave.

She had no suggestions off hand to help Kobato summon and at the rate they are taking damage she might have to go back to healing.]

[One down, another two to go-

Sephiroth doesn't have time to size up the other two Mech Gunner though as he has to dodge immediately out of the way of the next wave of gunshots, grateful for the extra speed that Dragoon gives him. They glance off of his armor and he's more than thankful for Zelda's barrier-type spell; he imagines he'd be riddled with a few holes otherwise.

Though he was aware of the purple wave crashing into all of them, he is focused much too much on the fight in front of him to notice much of the effects right away, once there is an opening in the volley of fire he squats low, leaps up and towards the Mech Gunners with a much strength as the Job will allow. Swinging his sword across horizontally in a bid to catch them both at once.]

[Kobato didn't know what that purple wave was suppose to do, but right now she didn't think it did much of anything. So instead of summoning she choose instead to simply be cure on those who were currently fighting. Instead she choose to at least be back up for the moment.

Unlike the other two however she soon felt the effects and wondered what was going on.]

Do-Does anyone else feel tired?

[ Zelda's sword seems to have very little effect on the creatures. It does wound them, but they do seem unable to feel pain and remain where they are. If anything, the effects of the purple wave grows even stronger in return. They may have to be literally cut down in piece to fall.

Meanwhile, the old and rusty Mech Gunners are quick to fall under Sephiroth's attacks. These mecha offer very little challenge in so few numbers. And if anything, it seems the noise of ten, maybe more of them comes from both side of the corridor beyond the door, probably alerted by the mechas who just fell. ]

It's a spell?

[Zelda takes a nervous step back. Breathing felt harder as she sheathed her sword and brought her staff to her hand.]

I can try a summon but the sword had little effect on it...

[She brings her staff down and begins to cast esuna.]

[Kobato felt like she was getting tired. She felt like maybe she should also try and use Esuna and hope that whatever was going on would go away, but if not she turned to focus on what was left. She had little to no idea of what to do afterward and she was starting to get nervous. Maybe staying and fighting wasn't going to help them at all.]

Can we start running now? I don't think staying will be a good idea.

[Well that was easy enough. He does feel tired, like Kobato said, but Sephiroth is doing his best to ignore it. Drawing attention to it is only going to make it worse. One fact is, they need to get away from this location before it becomes impossible to.]

We need to go. Now. [His short, clipped comment is with an obvious tone of urgency as Sephiroth steps out of the room into the corridor. He'll wait for the others to come out of the room first, turning his stance this way and that - trying to gauge which way the attack will come from first. The movements feel more sluggish than they should as the pause in the action starts to catch up with the energy that's being drained from him. Concerning.

As for summons-]

Save it for those that are coming. We're going to need them.

[ The creatures do not stop their silent assault-- As for the corridor, it is noticeable that the purple wave's effect are weaker there. It seems the first wave of Mech is going to come North, those from the south seem to be father. ]

[Zelda follows Sephiroth's lead down the hallway. She looks back to make sure that everyone else is following behind him. As the waves effect weakens she feels her breaths come easier.]

Which way?

[It didn't take long for him to notice that the weakening effect is significantly less out of the room that the crystal creatures will eventually follow them out of. Sephiroth's eyes narrow as quickly he puts together a strategy in his mind.

He nods in the southern direction of the corridor. Before starting to take strides that way.]

This way, quickly. They're closer from behind, perhaps they'll deal with those things for us.

[Quick glance back to make sure everyone is following.]

There might be another room we can slip into to avoid a frontal assault as well.

[Even if not, it would be better to deal with one wave at a time, than two at the same time from either side of them.]

[Kobato trailed along behind everyone, trying her best to keep up as she was glad that the effects were at least weakening for now. That was always a good thing after all, right?

Trying to run as fast as her leg could carry her it wasn't long before Kobato did what she does best, Trip over and fall face first to the floor.]

I'm okay. I'll try and catch up, just keep going.

[It won't even take her long to do before she is up and following, rubbing her nose slightly as she went.]

[ If they go the southern way, they'll reach a staircase and a path branching right-- With directions written on the wall: ]

[ The robotic noise seem to come from the 1st Floor and Containment Lab. Kobato tripping though means some of the pursuing Mech can finally catch up on them, two mech Guards to be exact. ]

[Zelda turns with her sword held firmly in hand. She is getting used to using the blade and finds that she is able use it comfortably.]

Lets head to the control room. Maybe we can turn these things off and help anyone else being attacked by them.

[She slices down with her blade at the closest mech Guard and shifts her stance, ready should the other chose to attack.]

[Kobato felt kind of bad that it was because of her that two mechs had caught up with them. So no that she was standing up she thought bow would be a good time as any to fight long enough for them to run. But she knew all she had was the ability to summon and was unsure if that was a good idea in a place like this.

But with this idea in mind she closed her eyes and thought to herself and raising up her staff was able to at least summon Choco/Mog in the hopes that they could at least help for now.]

Alright lets get moving.

[Control Room. Good, that's his thoughts as well - at least they won't be stuck arguing over which way to turn now. He's acutely aware that they're going to have to move quickly to avoid more of the robots.

Could have done without Kobato tripping up, as naturally they all had to slow up to enable her to catch up. Sephiroth may be colder than most but leaving a small girl to die isn't right even for him. It's clear she doesn't know how to protect herself much.

Sephiroth turns and pulls his weapon into a ready stance again. Armor Break being cast in the meantime first at one, and then the other Mech Guard. With any luck, coupled with Choco/Mog it will buy them the time needed to vanish up the stairwell but like hell is he going to move before the others have gone first - just in case the Summon didn't finish the Mechs off, they couldn't afford to keep being chased.]

Go, now.

[ Choco/Mog is more than enough to dispatch the pursuing unit and slow down any other pursuer as they go for the stairs. Taking the stairs, they will pass by the third floor before hitting the top floor-- A corridor leading to the control room.

Strangely enough the door is wide open. ]
