Event || Magitek Research Facility

Characters: All the Heroes of Light participating in the event.
Where: Magitek Research Facility; Sixth District of Aqures Ixen.
When: The 22nd of September.
Summary: A letter from Artemicion calls the Heroes of Light for help! Little do they know that they will inadventenly become trapped in the Magitek Facility. The OOC Post for detailed explanations can be found here.

[Even if they did leave it and go, it would be in the back of Sephiroth's mind that there might be a threat left. It was bad enough knowing there were security robots released, to have something you didn't know about possibly coming from behind you at the same time, could make their situation worse.

Fact is, they had unsealed something and Sephiroth couldn't leave this room in good conscience until it had been settled one way or the other.]

Get back.[He promptly commanded the others around, tightening his grip around the hilt of Masamune.]

[Once there was room Sephiroth would plant a high boot into the top section of the pod and dart back, finally drawing his sword as part of the same motion, in case something were indeed lurking inside it.

If not, then at least they would know.]

[ As the pod slowly opened it revealed a human body-- Crystallized. The way the body looked was identical to the cases of Crystal Stasis that had just recently happened to other Heroes of Light.

The crystallized body vacillated for a moment where it stood in the pod, before falling forward, smashing on the ground and breaking into countless tiny crystal shards. ]

[She takes a few nervous steps backwards her eyes on the pod as the figure emerged.]

Did he just?

[Zelda doesn't want to think that they might have just killed someone by opening the pod but that is the direction her thoughts take her. One hand moves to rest over her heart.]

I think we should move on.

[He'd been so ready to lunge at the shape of a human body as the pod opened. A heartbeat later and it's crystallized state was obvious. Sephiroth took a sharp breath in yet could not bring himself to relax.]

Damn-

[The crystal smashing on the ground shot a thousand sharp sensations right up through his entire being. It hadn't quite made him jump but the implications were stark indeed. Looking from Zelda, and then around the others nearby he forced himself to take a step back and slip his sword back into it's resting place across the back of his armor again.

He blew out a long sigh as eyes glared into the shards littering the floor.]

Yes. [He agrees, guilt coiling it's tight fist around inside his stomach. Sephiroth has seen death before, yet nothing like that. Had he really just ended someone? Who knows if they really had been alive still in such a state.]

[ Less than a minute after that, many more clicks are heard: the pods' seals broke as well and smoke escaped from them all. They are all still closed, but now it looks like one or two of them are slightly moving--

Meanwhile, the robotic noises seem to grow ever closer to the room. ]

[Kobto looked at each and every one of them as smoke escape them all. Is that wasn't bad enough it appeared that the robots were coming closer and closer and she knew what that would mean... fighting and she honestly didn't want to do that, or didn't know how anyway.]

O-Okay so are we suppose to be going towards where the noise is coming from?

[She glanced over towards the direction, trying her hardest to not look as scared as she generally was right now.]

[Sephiroth backed up even further as more of the pods apparently became unsealed. The hiss of the smoke quite deafening over the sound of his own pulse racing in his chest. He thought he saw a few of them moving as well but that could have quite easily been his imagination. He didn't like the tension in the air, at all. Just looking from one face to another through the eye slits in his helmet.

As silence settled again, he creased his nose up at the sound of the robots apparently drawing closer to their position and turned his head in the way of the only door which this room had.]

One way in, one way out. [He murmured before raising his voice a fraction more so that the girls could hear him.]

We're certainly not finding anyone, staying put like ducks in here.

[Still there was the impression that a few of the pods were moving, but it's a chance they're going to have to take.]

[She probably shouldn't lead, she is a healer and is only wearing a plan white dress. However, that doesn't stop her from grabbing hold of Kupola and gesturing forwards.]

Right. Lets move then.

[Zelda doesn't wait and starts slowly walking past the pods. She is careful as she walks as to not step on the crystal fragments by her feet.]

[ As they move toward the door, the impression that the pods are moving becomes a confirmation: something quite clearly knocks from the inside of the pod. Whatever it is, will soon have opened the pod.

If the robotic noises mean anything, the robot should be in the corridor behind the door. ]

[Kobato looked one way and then another. Dear god if they stayed here and waited till the pods were opened they could find out what was in side... But yet the downside to that was the fact that they hadn't a clue. Could it be more crystal people? Or something else? Never the less her eyes looked at the door. If they left now then sure enough there would be robots on them. Which to choose, which to choose?

Kobato didn't choose to think logically and instead just panicked, unsure of what to d.]

Something's getting closer to that door... And yet those knocks are getting louder. What do we do?

What can we do?

[ She prepared her bow, though she wasn't sure which side she should keep the arrows pointed to. ]

We should have left from the beginning. We're trapped now.

[Zelda slowly backs up so that she is closer to the group.]

I think we should stick together. If we are trapped here anyway, lets keep whatever might attack in front of us.

[She really doesn't know a lot about fighting so she states her ideas as suggestions more than commands.]

[Sephiroth takes a further step away from the main cluster of the group so that he has enough room to swing his sword without accidentally taking anyone's arm (or head) off. The long sword is flicked around and held steady over his right shoulder, in a pincer like position facing the door.

However he does keep alert to the sounds going on towards the pod that sounded like something was about to break out. Sephiroth has ever confidence he can change his direction in a blink of an eye if needed.]

It's all we can do now, to fight our way out.

[ And before long one the pod broke open-- There was a human inside, like with the other one, except isn't wasn't really human any more. Its eyes were bright blue and its body covered with Crystal shards or even made of Crystal in parts, as if the person had just woken up of Crystal Stasis but it hadn't gone as expected. The creature didn't seem to be in its right mind either. It looked down as it stepped out of the pod and seemed to stare up at the Heroes of Light with what could be described only as hatred or anger.

At this same time, similar creatures started erupting from every pods and a robot suddenly smashed against the door, trying to force it open. ]

[Kobato had kept her arms close to herself as she slowly but surely edged herself towards the others, wanting to keep close and safe. When she saw something come out of the pods she couldn't help but scream. What on earth were they?]

They don't look very happy, but what are they? Are they people covered in crystal or what?

[She moves to take a small step back, still trying her best to not be herself right now all the while staring at the crystal things as more came out of their pods.]

What do we do now? We have to do something before whatever is on the other side of the door gets in.

[Zelda's fingers curl around her staff as she begins to cast shield around each person. As she does a shield flashes around them and then fades from sight.]

That should help some.

[She is still learning her new skills but she is a decent healer.]

I also have a sword if we need it.

[He'd been so ready to have to leap into combat when that first pod erupted open and the creature emerged, that it was rather jarring having to reign in that first reaction. Strange as it was that the strange crystalline creature took a moment looking down before it looked up to glare at them. Was it going to attack actually? It didn't seem all that hostile or surely it would already have done so-]

[Thankfully Zelda's shield then flashed around him so Sephiroth felt a little safer. Not before time as the heavy sound of metal hitting metal was more alarming than the other pods opening, that door probably wouldn't hold them back for long.

He's taking a risk, having to turn from the majority of the pods like that and he knows it, and silently he hopes that the blue creatures won't all of a sudden decide to attack them while he's occupied with a robot incoming. Nevertheless it's going to have to be dealt with as it happens.]

[ Suddenly the smashing on the door came to an end as the door exploded; two Mech Guard and two Mech Gunner entering the facility, one of them respectively moving to attack the characters in the room: the Mech Guard trying to physically attack them and the Mech Gunner shooting bullets at them.

In the meantime, the crystalline humanoid starts walking toward the group, and seemingly charge a purple energy-- They do seem to be hostile. ]

[Kobato had gotten her staff now as she knew she would need to get involved, but didn't have much of a clue as to how to actually use any of her abilities, she she knew she had to suck it up and help right now.

But the moment the Mech started to attack she couldn't help but duck and cover her head with her hands. She was pretty much useless until she was told to do anything. After all she did have some summoning abilities she hasn't quite figured out.]

[Zelda watches as Kobato curls up on the ground. She pulls her sword from her side and walks forward next to Sephiroth.]

I'll hold off this side.

[Her eyes stay on the crystal creature as she speaks.]

Kobato, don't be scared. We will protect you.

[Zelda's voice is filled with confidence. She believes in those she is with and she isn't ready to let these things hurt her friends.]

[Not another one who had no idea what they were capable of with the Jobs given to them. Typical. Except unlike against the Chocobo Eater there are significantly less of them in this group. At least Zelda seems to know more; what comfort that could be as the robots move in as expected to attack.]

Look out, or you're going to get killed. [There is no time for hand holding. Kobato had better learn fast; there is no cover for her to hide in and with multiple enemies closing in, though Sephiroth is confident in the abilities and strength that he does have, he knows he's not at his best.

With only a pause to cast Armor Break first, Sephiroth sweeps in from the front towards the first Mech Guard, using it as a cover for the rain of bullets incoming from behind it, and proceeds to attack. Someone is going to have to do something about the ranged attacks though - preferably before whatever the crystal beings are channeling power for gets let off.]

[Kobato looked up slightly before noticing that moving might be a good idea. So getting up she quickly moves towards where Zelda had gone to, sticking to behind her before she got hit. She gripped her staff rightly, still unsure of how to do any of her jobs. If someone had the same job it would have been much easier right now.]

I-I can help but um.... How does one summon? Do I just wave my stick or something?

[She knew she could do it... She just hadn't a clue how and she was getting more and more worried about those crystal people.]

[ The first Mech Guard will fall quite easilly, though the others will still be standing and attacking. In the meantime, the crystal creature unleash their attack: a purple wave that descends unto the characters. It doesn't seem to do anything, but it slowly drains their life energy and exhausts them: five more minute with that and they may as well be dead. ]

[Zelda doesn't wait for the purple wave to settle, she steps forward towards the crystal creatures swinging her sword across in a horizontal arc. She feels the affects of the shots being fired as well as the slightly weakening from the wave.

She had no suggestions off hand to help Kobato summon and at the rate they are taking damage she might have to go back to healing.]

[One down, another two to go-

Sephiroth doesn't have time to size up the other two Mech Gunner though as he has to dodge immediately out of the way of the next wave of gunshots, grateful for the extra speed that Dragoon gives him. They glance off of his armor and he's more than thankful for Zelda's barrier-type spell; he imagines he'd be riddled with a few holes otherwise.

Though he was aware of the purple wave crashing into all of them, he is focused much too much on the fight in front of him to notice much of the effects right away, once there is an opening in the volley of fire he squats low, leaps up and towards the Mech Gunners with a much strength as the Job will allow. Swinging his sword across horizontally in a bid to catch them both at once.]
