When: Starting from the 18th of November.
Summary: The first trip to the Continent of Ruins is finally happening! The Heroes of Light, the Enterprise Crew, Cid and O'aka are all onboard for the trip. What will the Heroes of Light find there? Quite. It's not like it's going to go anywhere now that we've managed to devise a way to get through the barrier that kept it sealed off.

[He's been traveling around a lot recently too -even if it has been back and forth between Esdham and Aqures only- over the last month. Partly his own fault but at least it's keeping things fresh, it's so quiet at Esdham currently.]

There is much to be learned just from observing and keeping ears open, at this stage.

[Turbulence. Could mean anything.]

Hm.

[Albel next draws Sephiroth's attention with the mention of riding a dragon. There was something you didn't hear every day. But before he could put words together for a reply to that the comment was followed with another question.

Something that reminded him, clearly, of the fact that he were here in his capacity as a Major of Republic of Esdham, as much as a Hero of Light. Though, he hadn't heard anything more than everyone else with regards to specifics.]

I'm afraid I'm as blind going into this as the next person. Caution is most certainly the watch-word for this first contact.

[And then he's back to looking out of the window again. Sephiroth's eyebrows are lowered a little as already he seems to be getting thoughts in order for how to proceed once they land.]

You should take whatever time out you need.

[He remembers Zelda working herself to her sick bed at least once before. There were a lot of other Heroes now compared to what there had been before...there is therefore no reason for Zelda to feel like she has to do it all alone. Damn, pot calling the kettle black a bit there...no wonder he doesn't say anything about it.]

We just need to know where to look. Logically with all the eyes out looking, something should crop up sooner rather than later.

Yeah! I would appreciate that. It sounds enlightening. And fun.

[And there's no shame in having a little fun while they're out here.]

[Cloud narrows his eyes as he looks at the screen. It's not a game he's really familiar with but he's willing to give it a shot.]

How do you play it? Can I try?

Other...spirits? She didn't understand the question. But then again, she hadn't clarified that Hades was apparently an Eidolon as well.

~~And then the Sage told them plenty about who Narayana was, oops.~~

"More information is always useful," she inclined her head. "If not here, then perhaps in the Temple for the Heroes of Light. Would that we had enough time to explore all avenues before us." She sighed, then folded her arms.

"What about you? Did I interrupt anything important?"

I suppose that's a possibility...

[She shouldn't be so reluctant at the idea. She's part of Esdham's military, after all, she should be keeping her eyes open for exactly that sort of thing. Still...]

If they're unwilling to budge when the Calamity moves again, we may not need to fight them at all.

[Rukia frowns, glancing away pensively, before she looks up at him again.]

Do you have time to speak about a somewhat personal matter?

This is true. The inebriated often vomit when introduced to moving surfaces. I would be a poor diplomat and representative indeed.

[Not that she's exactly a shining star of dignity right now as she struggles to haul herself onto the barstool. Why do they always make these stupid seats so high? Once she's up there, she looks pleased with herself, and folds her arms.]

I did. They are most welcoming friends indeed. Reminds me of the Eleventh Division warriors. And yourself?

[Well that's certainly blunt.]

That and I've seen a few poor fools take the floor for granted and suddenly find it no longer beneath them. Me, I'm just trying to get a feel for this new land. Those lizard-folk look like they could be good allies indeed.

[Fortunately she says the l-word quietly enough to avoid angering anyone.]

Eleventh division eh? I didn't take you for a soldier. Infantry? Navy?

Kidd shot Ashelia a sidelong gaze, keeping eye contact for a long moment. She could guess the other woman was speaking in jest but the look was as much to check as it was to warn against joking too much.

"Aye. It's an impressive display indeed. It almost matches a nightmare I had once. A fool man deciding that he knew better than everyone else and that the only way to the future was to cut down all those in front of him. And anyone standing next to them as well."

She sighed heavily. How could Edward's son have turned out so wrong?

"And what of you? What brings you here?"

[Yuna is used to death, it isn’t dying that scares her so much as living but she bites back the comment and then nods. If Minako wishes to tell her a secret then she’d keep it between them.]

[Rudder rarely says anything at all and even less around anyone other than Umiko. He’s grown fond of some of the moogles who are working with the heroes of light and from time to time he’ll talk to Ventus but he is still known for only saying a few words and then picking those words very carefully. He does however glance up and give Sephiroth a warm encouraging smile before looking back down at his book.

His warning falls on deft ears. Umiko likes to drink and she doesn’t like accepting no as an answer. Granted if Sephiroth didn’t care for the spirits she’d drink it for him. It isn’t as if she’s going to let any of it go to waste, more so after paying for it. It isn’t as if she had a lot of money. She watches him take a sip, her bright eyes glinting off the light in the bar. She reaches for her own beer, taking a long gulp before returning her glass to the table.]

So you say but you can’t be so tight that you can’t appreciate the different tastes.

[Umiko’s been all over Crystallis and she’s tasted a lot of different beers. She prefers light beers but will never say no to something hoppy or dark.]

Anyway feel free to leave that there. I’ll drink it when I finish this one.

[The Navigator is blessed with amazing alcohol tolerance. Besides the fact that beer doesn’t have much alcohol in it, at least not compared to rum.]

[Yuffie shrugs.]

Nowhere, I think it’s easier to talk on roofs but Mooshoo was complaining that I was standing out to much so a jumped down. [It’s only then that Yuffie notices Mooshoo’s absence. Her heart jumps into her throat and she drops her ice cream. She remembers being warned that people can get kidnapped and Mooshoo stands out as a flying little ball of fluff.]

Mooshoo?

[She turns trying to spot him but she sees nothing within the crowd.]

Shit where is he?!

[Umiko is having fun now, more so since she’s put away her papers and begins to focus on her beer.]

There is always time to come back.

[She does live here after all and she isn’t going to rest until she’s seen everything.]

Why don’t you make sure you have enough fun for the both of us?

[That smile is indeed noticed, but just barely. A touch of pink comes to Cloud's cheeks. Any sort of encouragement from his hero brings it out of him. He can't help it.

His eyes go back to the new land and the city coming into view.]

From what we knew, what we heard about this place I was expecting some barren continent. Rocks. Mountains. Maybe some ruins. But this is a lot...there must be people living there.

[Wow, that’s depressing. Yuffie stares for a moment and then raises an eyebrow. She’s noticed Sephiroth changing, not by choice but she’s not so blind to ignore things… at least not as much as she used to be.]

Mmm…

[She hums thoughtfully and then nods her head as if that’s settled that.]

So here we have reasons to celebrate. That’s what you’re saying right?

[Silently Yuffie hopes that she understands. At times Sephiroth’s logic is so much above her that she finds it a little hard to follow along.]

It really is. I never expected to find a place like this when we came here. I thought it would just be all ruins and stuff like that.

[His eyes continue to wander around the space, doing a fairly obvious job of trying to eavesdrop on conversations of researchers or peek through doors or windows. He gestures at one nearby one where the sounds of experiments can be heard on the other side.]

Do you know what what they're working on in there?

Me?

[It seemed rushed. Was she changing the subject? Albel realized, belatedly, that he might have been right -- and it had made things awkward. That wasn't what he'd intended. Suddenly he had to think of something to do, because he wasn't about to negate her suggestion or feelings. Because this was Terra.]

I... hadn't thought about it.

We could... well if you had anywhere else you wanted to go... Or have you eaten yet?

Mn.

[Albel didn't like that, going in blind. Not that he couldn't handle whatever happened -- he just still preferred to be prepared.]

Well. If you need me, let me know. You know you aren't the only agent of the Esdham military here.

My problem? My problem?

[Albel had tried to remain calm, angry but generally composed, but now he was losing it. After what he'd learned from Sphere, from Arkives, about Luther -- his entire world? He could not just walk away from this. He gave Johnny a strong, rough shove away from the console.]

Imagine yourself in their place! Your entire life a lie, a fabrication, manipulated by people who think nothing of you!

[Ven's heard no such rumors yet, so Yuffie's reaction startles him. Still, she's upset for whatever reason, and he takes that seriously.]

Hey, easy -- I'm sure he's around. [He also turns quickly in place, trying to spot the moogle.] Where'd you see him last?

[Did he enter the shop with them? He can't remember.]

You mean like an offering to the Eidolons themselves? If so, which ones did you have in mind?

[She wasn't a summoner herself, but she did read about the Eidolons while on her occasional reading binges. Maybe it's because she's a goddess herself but she did find it fascinating that some of them shared the same names and traits of gods and mythical beasts back home.]

[She laughs.]

Food for the body before food for the mind, right? France is rather lovely though but my best tip is to just explore and avoid the touristy stuff unless waiting in lines is your cup of tea.

Well, the kind that believes in rumors that consuming souls can boost powers or even extend your lifespan. It's mostly power-hungry supernatural beasts and beings from around the world. I moonlight as part of corps specializing in dealing with rogues like them. Let's just say it's never a boring night.

[She nodded slightly, she trusted Yuna to not say anything and she was comfortable enough to admit it.]

I've seen a lot of people die in order to fulfil my purpose back home, I've even had to hurt or kill the people I cared about, or at least liked and this purpose is something I will be doing for at least a 1000 years.

[She gives a small smile slightly.]

So I guess I can understand your problems although I made my choice to always pick my duty over anyone else. That was my choice and it is not something I wish for you to do. I want you to be happy even if you only have that happiness for so long.

As the Sage stopped with his explanation and turned away at that important point; what the changing of their crystals meant, Sephiroth immediately looked up from where he'd been idly watching the floor while listening and with narrowed eyes fixed them on the Sage. Some things he cannot tell them...

"Garland is the Emperor of the Herans." He was a little surprised Robin didn't know, but didn't even look to her as he quickly pulled thoughts around the more important point.

If Robin wasn't going to press, then someone had to. It was all very well being polite and respectful but some Heroes were already tired enough of being played with. The fact that the Sage knew they'd come here, and even requested them to be escorted here set off all sorts of alarm bells.

"When our crystals turn blue...means what, exactly? The Calamity connecting to our Worlds, or our consciousnesses connecting to this one?"
