Event || Revelations

Characters: All the Heroes of Light and their Moogles.
Where: Order's Sanctuary, The Interdimensional Rift and their Homeworlds.
When: August 03rd - August 30th

Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

[K'pandolu hisses at the sight, her tail rising, but she focuses as soon as the scream sounds out, right behind the others as they move on. What're we looking at here?]

[As the new world unfolds before him and Cloud takes a good look around he's happy he has a good weapon with him. Still equipped with the Jobs from the Ultima Weapon fight he clutches his gunblade a bit tighter. He's especially glad he encouraged Zack to stay behind at the Sanctuary.

Seeing Chiaki on the computer screen gives him a disturbing moment of deja vu but that's pushed aside when the scream goes out. At Chiaki's call to run he moves at the head of the pack, ready to fight if need be.]

[As the group rounds the corner, they'll see three of the bear-masked gang members cornering a rather panicked-looking young man. He's dressed in a black business suit and a tie, a sharp and somewhat ridiculous contrast to his wild hair.]

H-hey... I don't want any trouble, okay?

[He's just backing himself further into the corner, and the gangsters don't seem to be letting up. One is carrying a knife, one has a lead pipe, and the third is wearing knuckle dusters. All three of them slowly and silently advance.]

Wait... I got it! Yeah! I've seen it in the stars - you're all about to meet with a terrible fate!

[Ball's in your court, heroes.]

( this is a sad place for a lot of reasons... meredy had seen the wake of destruction before, but nothing quite like this. never so much violence and utter... despair. and to add to that: no chiaki alongside of them. just like in that terrible future they talked about...

chiaki, you promised... right?

she stayed quiet and contemplative, looking disturbed by the scream, turning it to worry at the sight of the young man, then determination taking over. )

Stop! You must stop right now!

[That guy looks defenseless, so whatever's going on, he probably could use some help. Johnny is equipped with Dragoon and Dark Knight, making him well armored and equipped with an intimidating lance.]

Alright, assholes, why don't you tango with someone who's actually ready for a fight?

Mm. Tangling with the stars is a bad business, don't you know that?

[K'pandolu's gone back to Red Mage and Ninja, for her part, but while she looks less intimidating she's primed to move.]

[Black Mage and White Mage, both fully realized, and Mordecai wants to get out of here as soon as possible without catching the notice of the rebel robots. Only there aren't robots. Just regular hoodlums in his mind. There's no reason to stop and get involved, but this is Chiaki's world, and it doesn't feel like to let this guy get beat up by thugs.

He pulls out his staff and mutters a Blizzard spell aimed at the gangster's feet. If that doesn't freeze them in place, they'll slip and this will be all over without any further violence.]

Aw, look, more losers who haven't given up yet.

[One of the men - apparently the leader - steps forward to meet the Heroes' challenge, rapping his pipe against his hand.]

Get 'em! Show 'em the meaning of despair!

[The three rush forward all at once, the one with the brass knuckles slipping and falling on the ice. The other two manage to avoid it well enough and continue their approach. The one with the knife strikes out at Johnny - he's the biggest one here and probably the best fighter, after all. And the one with the lead pipe heads for Meredy. Maybe he's got a thing for bullying little girls, who knows. They're outnumbered badly, but they honestly don't seem to care.]

[It's been awhile since Johnny's gotten into a good ol' alley fight like this. With his Job powers, he probably way outclasses these guys, and he wants to have some fun. When he the comes after him, he throws down his weapon behind him (away from the gang), and decides it'd be more fun to take this guy on with his bare hands. Fast as it is, he's even more agile thanks to Dragoon. He'll let the guy try to wear himself out first by dodging his attacks.]

[Well, she's certain Johnny can handle himself, so she focuses on the man going for Meredy. The lead pipe looks like a lot of trouble, after all, and she casts Thundara.]

[Cloud has the same thoughts as K'pandolu on his mind, so as her spell hits the thug he rushes in, cross-checking the man with his gunblade. At the impact he pulls the trigger, the shot impacting mostly harmlessly again the wall, but certainly loud and rough enough to make it clear what damage he could do if he was trying.]

Jack is stepping well back from the action to protect the laptop that he's carrying, both from the fighters, and from the area of effect spells going off. "This way!" He calls to the guy that the thugs were attacking.

With one free hand, Jack only has one option for a spell, and he casts Lancet, a weak drain of energy from the nearest opponent.

B-baiba! ( meredy exclaims as the man with the pipe seemed poised ready in her direction. it's lucky for her that the heroes step in to protect her from the close range attacks, as her hacker skills didn't lend themselves all that well to close combat...

all the same, she types in her command of Leg Aim to try and incapicate any members of the gang she can target in time. )

[Between all the attacks flying around, it doesn't take the party very long to take these guys out. They're not trained fighters, after all - just a couple of street thugs. They'll be able to make it out of this with just a few scrapes all around. And as soon as the last one hits the ground, the man in the suit shrieks and runs toward the group.]

Awesome! I've been saved by aliens!

[He's enthusiastic, but his face shifts to a more cautious expression moments after.]

You are here to save me, right? Not abduct me or do weird experiments or anything?

[Johnny goes back to pick up his weapon first.]

Yep. We're here to take ya to the mothership, cuz yer planet is clearly fucked.

[This is probably not the time to screw with this guy.]

( there's a sigh of relief, and a furry friend that comes out of hiding to perch on meredy's shoulder as the no-goodniks vamoose. )

Ex... peri-ments? No, no. We are... ( she turns in the direction of the laptop, wondering if the chiaki trapped within has some advice to offer. as far as she knew, they weren't aliens... were they? )

[K'pandolu has a go at elbowing Johnny. Her ears are up, watching the other man.]

We're here to help. What's your name?

"Not unless you ask really nicely," Jack says in that tone that makes it hard to tell whether he's kidding or not. "Chiaki, you know this guy?" He holds up the laptop, since he's guessing that she is 'seeing' from out of the device's camera...although he could be wrong.

"Guys, knock it off." Cloud had to admit that Johnny's comment was funny. He wasn't as sure about Jack though. Still, someone had to at least play at being the serious one here. He nodded in agreement with K'pandolu.

"Is there anywhere safe around here? Where were you headed?"

I knew it, man! You guys totally looked like aliens. I saw it in my crystal last week.

[The guy seems to buy Johnny's story completely, and is looking rather pleased with himself. Chiaki speaks up from the laptop.]

This is Yasuhiro Hagakure, the Ultimate Clairvoyant. His predictions are renowned for an amazing 30% accuracy.

[At this, Yasuhiro's eyes go wide.]

Whoaaaa! You guys are psychics too? Hey, maybe we should team up! I gotta get these files back to headquarters.

[Chiaki pipes up again.]

He must be talking about the Future Foundation. It's a long story, but they're this world's good guys.

What, 30%? That doesn't sound so amazing.

[That's really neither here nor there, Johnny figured. He turned to Yasuhiro.]

You need help gettin' those to that HQ or whatever? How far away is it, and how many other dumb thugs are gonna get in the way?

( meredy on the other hand, looks pretty impressed. ) Wow! That is wonderful! Thirty percent!

( curious as ever, she leans in to try and get a look of the precious goods he's carrying. )

It's better than, say, twenty percent accuracy. And definitely more impressive than no accuracy at all.

[and she nods, rocking back on her heels to wait for information on which way they need to go.]

It's statistics. Fortune tellin' can get as accurate as you want so long as you keep it vague.

[He's not a believer in superstitions, but let the kid feel important. This world is terrible enough without everyone not believing him.]

What headquarters? The folks fightin' against...whatever's causin' all this?

[Yasuhiro seems almost offended at the reception he's getting.]

Hey, thirty percent is awesome! How many psychics have you guys been to who have been right basically one in three times?

[Chiaki pipes up from the laptop.]

He's right.

Yeah, see, the psychic computer knows what it's talking about! Hey, she sounds kinda familiar...

[There's a coughing sound from the laptop, and Chiaki forges onward.]

...The Future Foundation. It's an underground organization that's trying to restore hope and rebuild the world.
