Where: Aqures Tosf.
When: July 27th - August 03rd, twenty-eight years in the past.
Summary: As the Heroes of Light were transported to the past, they now have the possibility explore Aqures Tosf and take part in the events that ultimately led to their arrival in Crystallis. Feel free to start your own threads with your own prompts for everything your characters will do during this week! Please look at the OOC Post for information as to what can be done in the city and for what is happening during the Festival of Light!

Lydia would enjoy an answer to the question herself. "If something did happen, I didn't notice. But no one else seemed to be reacting like anything unusual was happening too." So it was a pretty good guess that no, it hadn't reacted.

"It's nice to meet you Mr. Jack. I'm sorry she wouldn't dance with you. Maybe it was the wrong time and place?" Was she joking and teasing him? Or serious? It was difficult to tell really from her manner and smile.

"I know most heroes left. I...part of me felt really guilty leaving." She looked a little sheepish, sighing. "But I mean. I've been on adventures before, and dealt with some strange stuff--but war is new. And not something I've dealt with before."

Jack shakes his head a little. "Hey. Don't feel guilty, okay? It's not your responsibility to fight a war, and it shouldn't be your responsibility. They keep calling us Heroes, but whatever's bringing us here is completely arbitrary."

Jack shrugs. "Besides. Because you weren't at Aqures Ixen, you gave us some really important information. It brought all of us here, and nobody who's not a Hero, so the time travel probably had to do with the crystals that we're holding. And the Crystal of Wind didn't do anything, so it has to do specifically with whatever Kalki did to the Crystal of Fire." His mouth quirks up into a small smile. "See?"

Lydia pulled out her own crystal from a pocket, the small white orb-with-two-horns hadn't changed at all since it had first appeared with her. "My own crystal also wasn't affected. I came in as a prisoner of the Empire too. So that's more information that is helpful"

Putting it back safely in her pocket, Lydia's hands went behind her back and she rocked a bit on her heels. Less sheepish, and Jack had the kind of smile that made people want to smile back. "I do see. While we were captives, I also tried to gather information and keep notes, as well as make a map." Offering a hint of impish grin of her own. "I'm not primarily a fighter, but I HAVE had my share of adventures even before coming here."

Jack keeps that smile up. "Well, I dunno if you've noticed, but we've got a lot of fighters," Jack gestures to his own shining armor and the two-handed sword strapped to his back. "Not usually my specialty, either, but I think I'm managing to keep up."

"We need more people who can think and plan, and especially anyone who can be sneaky." Jack touches the side of his nose.

He ponders, though, thinking about the crystal. "Nothing changed with our crystals, but I think they might be focal points to draw us in. I know some of the crystals have had different colors." Jack's own has darkened, no longer red at all. "Don't know what it could mean."

Lydia shook her head too, but her smile was easy. "Couldn't begin to even try and tell you. The rules here aren't like what I'm used to either at home in Peaceful Pines, or in the Neitherworld."

Jack snaps his fingers. "Darn. And here I was hoping somebody was used to all this magic and monsters and stuff." He eyes Lydia carefully, though. "You're still taking this in a lot more stride than most people would, you do know I just told you you got teleported back in time to before you were born, sort of?"

"Nah, not enough to impress the kids these days," Jack waves it off exaggeratedly, trying to amuse the girl. "So what are you used to, then?"

Lydia's grin turned impish. "I AM used to magic, and monsters, but not like this. My best friend is a ghost, who lives in the Neitherworld. Most of the monsters there are friendly, when he doesn't go too far with his pranks." Lydia was definitely taking this in stride, time-travel and all.

Then again, how would Jack take her revelation.
