Summary: As the Heroes of Light were transported to the past, they now have the possibility explore Aqures Tosf and take part in the events that ultimately led to their arrival in Crystallis. Albel glanced up without expending too much effort, since he was still in pain and in shock. But this jerk was being loud about things and was hard to ignore.

And what the hell was that weird thing in his hand supposed to be? Albel wondered if Fayt would have known...

"Back in time?" His nose wrinkled. He wasn't sure how that worked, but it was still a mess of a situation.

"I wouldn't be too disappointed just yet," he grumbled. "We're still stuck here, which means we can't stop whatever else she might be planning -- or doing -- in the future. I'd say she pretty successfully got rid of us."

"Nah, nah," Jack waves a hand, "I just thought there was more to all this planning than just time travel. It's just- so-" Jack frowns. "Mundane."

"And typically, when you get a shift like this, Kalki should be here with us. Somewhere. I doubt she just sent us all back without coming, herself."

"Mundane?" Who did this guy think he was? Was this somehow normal in this man's -- this Time Travel Man's -- world? It made Albel's head hurt.

He grunted and closed his eyes again. "I don't know about a 'typical shift' -- but where I'm from, people don't just travel back in time. Even if they could, wouldn't it risk somehow damaging things in the future?"

Although, if he could have gone back and saved his father.... No. Don't even think about that.

"Well," the guy's got a point. "Okay. Maybe it's not mundane for here. But usually, it's that you time travel for something. Time travel itself can't just be the goal."

Jack gestures with a hand, as if agreeing with what he's saying. "There is a risk, yeah. We can never know how our actions will affect the future. But Kalki keeps talking all this destiny crap. Like it's all too late to change anything. But then she comes back to change something?" Ennnh, Jack doesn't get it.

"So what if she isn't changing something?"

Albel might have unknowingly stumbled upon a real clue, or a new paradigm of thought. But at the moment, all he really cared about was this guy's talking was confusing and irritating.

"Either there's destiny, or there isn't. There can't be both."

And after what he'd seen, Albel wasn't too sure he believed in "destiny."
