[A few weeks back, Johnny had promised himself that he was going to try and clean up his act just a little bit. But after dying - for the first time in Crystallis, but the second time ever - he decide to say the hell with it and get some drinks. A lot of drinks. Not only that, he's starting to gather some stares from locals, considering the people in Aqures Tosf weren't used to him being around like the ones in Aqures Ixen were.
With a few beers in him, and one currently in his hand, Johnny finds anyone he recognizes as a Hero to ask them some questions.]
So, I was kind of dead at the time. How the hell did we get here, again?
[the Opera - 28th]
[A metalhead like Johnny might be a weird thing to see at an opera, of all things, but he's been trying to get a better handle and appreciation for local music. Even if he doesn't much like it. Call it research.
With the way the story progresses, it makes him more and more uncomfortable. He leans over to whoever is sitting near by to whisper some comments.]
This is hittin' a little close to home, I think.
[Fireworks - the 28th]
[Sitting around doing nothing while this town awaits its fate is a little too much for Johnny. He tries to withdraw to a clearing by himself to lay down and watch the fireworks unfold, so maybe he doesn't have to think about this for just a few minutes more. Better look out where you're walking, or you might accidentally step on the half-demon who's lying there.]
Around the festival
I was dead too. So I don't know.
[Her voice is softer than his hoping those around them didn't overhear and become alarmed at the strange conversation.]
How much have you been drinking?
no subject
[He looks a little embarrassed to be asked that question, and unconsciously hides the bottle he was holding behind his back.]
Man, I dunno. I wasn't countin'. I don't have any money but people're feeling generous, thanks to the festival. It's a party, right?
[Also he may have swiped a few. But he won't say that.]
no subject
If you didn't pay for it then you should share.
[She doesn't have anything on herself either though she can probably get free drinks if she asked.]
Are you having fun?
no subject
Guess I can't argue with that logic.
I dunno. I mean... this is too surreal, right? We were just in a goddamn war. I was dead. You were dead. And now we're here. Like, in the past. I don't get it. It's like I ain't had time to, like, process any of this.
no subject
It is surreal but I think we should face what we can.
[Even if it doesn’t make sense. Somehow Yuna knew that everything would work out of they kept trying. She had looked into a few things but she hasn’t really learned anything.]
I wanted to see what music they had here. We found a journal. In the ruins of the temple here, a while back. There were musical notes scribbled along the inside and I wasn’t sure what it meant.
[It might mean nothing, except to the woman who wrote it.]

Opera
She hadn't realized Johnny was nearby, until he had leaned over. Turning her head, he was not quite behind her.]
Johnny!
[She'd been a little louder with that exclamation than she'd meant to be, clapping her hands over her mouth and then lowering her voice. It doesn't hide the bright smile though.]
You're alright! I've been trying to catch up with everyone, but it's been hard. I don't know if the play hits close to home, or if it's just an overdone theme. It reminds me of Shakespeare in some ways, but not the ways I'd like.

C'mon. Heroes of Light, Calamity, Ancients, that Scientist... I know it's supposed to be based on real events, but it's two-thousand year old events, right? Is this all supposed to be true?
no subject
Most legends are supposed to be based on kernels of truth right? It's probably embellished, or simplified, or modified for the theater. To make it more dramatic. We'd probably have to go to the library to find more 'accurate' versions if they exist.
no subject
I guess. Even still, I hope this ain't a case of history repeating itself. I mean, there are some differences at least. Like consider how many Heroes we got now, and there's only four in this, for one thing.
no subject
That's true. How long do you think we'll be stuck here? That'll affect what kind of research we can do.

Drink Smash Drink Smash - the 27th
"You're gonna love this one. Time travel. Kalki was there, at the Crystal of Fire. Hell of it is, I don't know if she actually did anything to it to make us bounce back here." Jack looks into his drink. "Other hell of it? It only pulled us. Not just the people in the area, none of the soldiers, or even anybody from the Empire's side. Just the Heroes."
no subject
He listens to Jack's explanation with his brow furrowed. "Why. Why the hell'd she do that? Why now during a goddamn war? Shit. I swear, I never know what's going on in my own damn life."
no subject
"I've got a ridiculous theory," Jack's face is grim as he looks over at Johnny. "But I can't even think of how I'd prove it. Spotted a spike of time energy before we vanished," he pats his pocket that the vortex manipulator is hiding in. "Don't know how she did it, but I've got a dumbass idea about why she needed that Crystal."
no subject
"And if ya know how she did it, do ya happen to know a way to, y'know, reverse the process?"
no subject
"How she did it? Not sure. What she used to do it? We kept popping up at the Crystal of Fire, right? There's got to be some kind of stored energy from those shifts, that's become a focus point for each of our pulls from our worlds to this one." Jack puts the manipulator away, trades it for his crystal, instead. "And these are the other focus."

[Opera]
It's very strange… Almost like seeing your life while you're still living it. […technically it is, she supposes.]

[Johnny wasn't much of a research person, but he thought it might be time to hit the books if they ever made it back to their own time.]

Though maybe we should be worryin' about how to get ourselves back home first, instead. If there's even a way.
no subject
…You think it'll last, then? [she leans forward, tail twitching] … It has been a few days… [she doesn't know anything about actually time-travelling, so. that'll be interesting.]

27 I guess, because OMG
[Albel is stunned, to say the least. He'd been a little busy balancing being self-centered and searching for Terra to notice anyone else; but of all people to drunkenly drape over him on the street, he did not expect Johnny.]
You... you're alive?
no subject
[He shrugs and takes a swig from his mug.]
Though more like I was just lucky. I think someone hit me with a spell 'n brought me back.
no subject
[Albel cut himself off and shook his head. Sure -- a spell could do it. And they'd just been sent back in time, after all. Anything was possible here.]
[Once the surprise had passed, he tried to brush the other man's arm off of him, nose wrinkling from the strong scent of alcohol.]
So... you don't remember anything, then?
no subject
I dunno, things were blurry. And it's not just the alcohol talking. I remember gettin' back up, 'n everything being dark. But... it was just weird, man. I guess I was just preoccupied.
