Tucking it to the crook of her mouth like a straw of wheat she crunches the empty box, moving at first as though to toss it for a perfect three pointer in a nearby trashcan...and instead redirecting it. Aiming for the middle of Sayaka's forehead as the girl practices her olympian stretches.
"Showdown?" The readhead's expression shifts to amusement, "You look like an idiot, what the hell are you doing?"
no subject
"I'm getting ready! Which is what you should be doing too, you know." Instead of stuffing her face, for once. Hands on her hips, Sayaka shook her head, thinking that some things never changed... and maybe a little bit glad for it.
"Those guys in Aqures Ixen are on the move. Or haven't you been paying attention to any of the intelligence reports?" Again...
no subject
"Eh?" A foot, raises to rest precariously against a raised branch - conveniently near Sayaka's face where the over zealous caped magical girl is preparing. "No kidding."
Paying attention, hardly a need when you had such a nag for a best friend. The girl's arms, which before had risen with a lazy grin behind her head had fallen away with a bit of a frown at the news.
"You know...it's not in your contract to have to fight people, only witches."
no subject
"There's supposed to be some kind of gate just south of here. The Lunar Gate, I think they were calling it. They were looking for people to go and check it out, so I know you'd have no problem volunteering for that and told them so." Sayaka grinned at that, standing up straight again and looking satisfied.
"Everyone was happy to hear it of course, they all know how you love to help and not just laze around all day."
no subject
It was an old mantra she had not brought to the surface since the two started fighting together. Well aware of what the answer would be, even on the same side of wanting to nip this in the bud - though she'd sooner die than admit that. What had made her bother saying that? The fact they might have to fight friends?
It doesn't really matter, a fang is already snapping into a second candybar her free hand brings to her mouth to chase away the thought.
"Oy, what?!" The redhead pushes her shoulders off the wall to come to her feet in order to give Sayaka a more effective dirty look. Going behind her back and signing her up for extra curricular activities, traitor!
no subject
"We'll be heading to the Lunar Gate today," she pointed the candy bar south, "our job will be to make sure that if it actually leads somewhere like they say it's supposed to -- that the other heroes of light will be able to get through. Unless..." she grinned, moving to poke at Kyoko's belly with the forefinger of her free hand, "you've gotten too soft, heheh."
no subject
The free hand slips into a pocket of her hoodie as she continues crunching away, finishing the bar in marathon eater time. A red gaze follows the indicated direction, she interjects the explanation of their mission with a quick Mami-san like chiding, "Mo Sayaka, don't play with your food!" It's about the only manner Kyoko has displayed. In all else it's elbows on the table.
She moves quick to try to snatch at the incoming hand before the poke reaches her, her own, it should be noted - is coated with a fine messy smudge of melted chocolate from the bar she ate. "Who you callin soft, rookie!"
no subject
"So make sure you know what we're up against, looks like those guys are getting serious this time."
no subject
"You'll have to do better than that, ya klutz." The playful mockery dies in her expression at the mention of their mission being serious. Not just some scouting or perimeter duty then. Though she doesn't sound the least bit concerned.
"Yeah well, if that happens we'll just have to take them down."
no subject
"There's someone others coming with us, too. A woman named Tifa and some others from Aerlion. I guess those guys from Ixen are moving in a group, so they think we should, too."
A bit of a sigh came up as she upturned her palms. "I'm not sure if we'll be able to trust them, but if they're willing to help, I guess more hands can't hurt."
no subject
"Aerlion, those yellow bellies who couldn't even pick a side? They'd prolly stab us in the back for enough coins." Wrapper and candy tilt a bit side to side as if in thought, the troublemaker tries to play at indifference as to what side they fight on. With Sayaka reminding her of who she used to be, and more people dying -- she's getting worse and worse at it.
She looks away, before taking an angry bite. There's only one person the lancer's ever trusted, anyway. "Hrmph well -- if those hands turn on us." It's easy to look up now, a wicked gleam alighting red eyes, "I'll be the one to cut them off."
