Summary: The Heroes of Light have a vision-- They are living through a hypothetical future where the Sage share his knowledge with them, and things went horribly wrong as some Heroes of Light became the villains in this timeline. Maybe they'll revise their thoughts on getting all of that knowledge.
Warning: The apocalypse, deaths, tragedies, overall a lot of very bad things.

[Yuffie lets out a soft sigh. She knows what arguments MarKus would say because they are fights that she's had with him time and time again. Eventually they stopped arguing and then talking all together.]

I don't know about Nanami. MarKus believes that the extreme is the only way to combat the calamity.

[A knot twists in Yuffie's stomach as she continued.]

If it looks like things might go poorly please escape.

[She doesn't want anyone else to die, more so someone as nice at Minato.]

They will likely what they have been saying since we parted ways: that we are doomed, and must give up and leave the problem for future generations to deal with.

[The disgust in his voice made it clear what he thought of that line of reasoning.]

But tell them that we were called here to end the Calamity, and we do not shirk our responsibilities. Any task is impossible until someone manages to do it.

[It was not the most logical argument for Minato to propose, but it was all Ramza had to go on.]

Yes. We should know by now, too, we don't want others to go through what we have. [ He agreed with Ramza, there. And Minato had already heard of how people saw others dear to them be involved in the previous cycles. Would they still think that worth it, for future ones? ]

The power to select who lives and who dies--and to condemn a whole world for its representation by the Hero whose files they can read. ... I wish they weren't serious.

[ As much as they tried to rationalize the action, isn't it ultimately "because that's not the planet we're standing on"? ]

[Yuffie's eyes narrow down towards her feet. She doesn't want to believe that anyone she's close too would be capable of that but they've certainly proven her wrong.]

We can't let them do that...

[She shakes her head.]

I don't understand how they can be okay with that. Just because they are in crystal, they are still people.

[Ramza nodded. He did not understand how the antagonists could not see that their judgement was wrong.] My brother was part of the previous cycle. He was...evil. Even if they choose someone like him to sacrifice, they would condemn all of the innocents in my world as well. It is a power too great for them to take into their own hands.

[He turned to Minato.] If they refuse to listen to reason, you must not allow them to find the Crystal Heroes. We have a responsibility to protect those that cannot protect themselves. Do you understand?

[He hoped Minato would not face death or torture, but 'hope' did not mean he did not fear it might be so. Minato would need to be strong to keep those Heroes safe.]

They most likely believe that because they are in a state akin to comas, they won't feel the pain, and that the same will go for their respective worlds when engulfed. [ They might even believe this is a merciful option given how small the percentage is of Heroes who wake up. And at this time... it had been so long since anyone actually even had. For all they knew, perhaps the leaders among the antagonists had already desensitized themselves to see them merely as expendable hunks of rock, never to awaken. ]

... My lips are sealed. You can count on me. [ Minato would take this information with him to his grave if he must; but the weight of a Hero's world as tied to their own lives meant he'd really rather it not come to that. ]

We'll get it-- [ The boy took a breath, and looked up again wearing a face filled with determination. ] ... Our happy end to this chapter.

[It is nice to see Minato's determination and seeing that makes Yuffie smile. Everything is so serious but they haven't lost the things most important to them.]

That's all the advice I can give. I agree that we can't let them find the Crystal Heroes. They're our friends too. [Yuffie has more than one from whose fallen into crystal stasis and she doesn't want to lose them now.]

I'm glad it's you going Minato.

[She believes in him.]

You carry our hopes for peace with you. [Ramza gives him a grave nod.] It would not be so if we did not have faith in you.

[He is glad that his allies are optimistic. Ramza plans in making sure Minato and his fellow delegate get those protective spells on them before they embark, though.]
