One week since
With the potion gone she slowly rose from the bed. Her stomach made a disgruntled noise, clearly displeased with the fact that Terra hasn't been eating. She tried to remember what happened but her mind had gone blank. She looked down at the black feather and her heart sank in her chest.
"Sephiroth's..." She couldn't put a voice to the pain in her chest. Never loving and lost was far more painful then every loving at all.
Re: One week since
The noise of discontent from the mage's stomach does not go unnoticed, but it's not the prime concern for now. A body can go without food for a long while, without water not so much. If Terra has not been drinking all this time -- it's only her inhuman half that she owes being alive.
The blonde finds herself chewing her bottom lip, hurting for the girl she cares for. Wondering where she herself would be if not for her tribe, and her fellow guardians - who cared for her and pushed her forwards whenever she faced loss. Would she have been in the same state? Terra was loved, she knew this. Surely there were others trying to help -- but she'd locked herself away.
What matters now is the painful realization that barrels down, as Rikku reaches out a hand to try to touch her friend's shoulder in solace. A chatterbox by nature, she still knows when words fall short. Her eyes echoing in sympathy.
One week since
One hand pushed at the feather as if to wipe it from her sight before her arms circled around Riku’s thin shoulders. The Esper felt tears fall down her cheeks as she buried her face against her friend’s neck. She didn’t want to be alone anymore. She didn’t want to be alone ever again.
“Riku…” Her voice was soft and continued to sound frail. “I’ve never felt like this before.”
How can love hurt so much?
Re: One week since
A cheek leans comfortingly against the girl burrowed away against her, as Rikku wishes there was a way to chase the pain away.
Rikku remembered Terra asking how you knew if you could love, and then how you could tell if you were in love not long ago -- now this. It...wasn't fair. Was it so much to want the people you cared about happy?
There's a slight nod at the words in understanding, felt since they are cheek to cheek -- and some of Terra's tear's are scrubbed away onto the Al Bhed at the motion. Not to minimize what the Esper must be going through, for everyone's grief is a private hell. Her voice, normally chipper, rings with sympathy.
"Nothing hurts like losing people you love."
One week since
Her voice was soft and distant and it sounded as if she was giving up. It hurt so much and she wondered if it was worth it. Her happiness had lasted for only a few months and when she finally thought she understood it, it was taken from her. She didn't want that. She'd rather feel nothing at all.
Her fingers lightly pushed away from Riku and she dried what was left of her tears. She moved to the single black feather and placed it in the nightstand. If she had it her way, she'd never look at it again.
Re: One week since
"Love is always worth it. Terra, I will make you a promise,
ok? You're not going to hurt like this forever. We were built pretty tough. I know it feels impossible right now but, I promise."
She wanted to tell the Esper that she was still surrounded by love in the people who cared for her, but thought it might only serve to confuse her right now. Relationships, friends, family, all different forms of love. With time, Terra would come to understand it.
For now, she could push her in the direction to feel it so its comfort helped at least. "Try to...be around the people who care about you right now, ok? For a while." A world without love would be a cold, dark place.
One week since
A linger silence hung in the air between them before Terra nodded a second time.
"I will try."
Her voice was weak but slowly strength found it's way back into her tone. As if given a second chance by Rikku's words and effort.
