Ventus - throughout the week
[In the wake of that battle, even Ventus is more idle than usual. He hasn't made it to town yet, nor has he tried to; despite some rest and having most of his wounds taken care of, he's still sore and exhausted, and even word of a local celebration hasn't prompted him to try and fight it. Word of the Heroes' predicament has also reached him, but this doesn't do much for him, either. They're alive, they're all right, and for now that's enough. The rest can wait until after he's gotten his energy back -- although that's easier said than done.
Ven spends much of his time sleeping, either laid out in a corner of the church or, occasionally, snoozing against the side of a tree outside when being indoors for so long takes its toll. Despite that he's achieved well over the maximum number of hours that any human needs to function properly, it doesn't matter. Sleep comes to him easily, and often.
When he is awake, his usual air of optimism and vigor seems... drained, and he spends more time staring thoughtfully into space than interacting with others. Back in his usual clothes -- thanks to his moogle right before he ended up here -- he's stripped off his
severaljackets to counter the heat, and his sleeveless shirt emphasizes the couple small injuries that haven't been fully healed. He has a few bruises and scratches left, but he favors his left leg more than anything and keeps his weight off of it for as much as he can manage. If you can catch him when he's awake -- or if you just happen to pass by within speaking distance -- he'll gladly speak up and welcome the company.]
B) Fireworks
[Later in the week, Ven can be found making time each evening for watching the fireworks. Rather than going into the city, however, he's found a nice spot not too far from the ruins, a small hilltop where he can see the show just fine, even if it's a little distant.
(Leave it to him to find a hillside view, even now.)]
Church
Ven! You're hurt...
[An obvious statement, but honestly why haven't those scratches been properly bandaged? And has he cleaned them? And should he be walking on that leg?]
Why haven't these been treated yet? And you're limping too! If your leg hurts that much you shouldn't walk on it!
[She's actually really worried and doesn't mean for it to sound like she's scolding him, but it totally does.]
no subject
He takes the concern-scolding with grace, at least, not interrupting or arguing. He doesn't take it the wrong way, either, well aware that Aqua would do the same if she were here.
Ven's next smile is sheepish, apologetic, but he does his best to sound reassuring.]
I, um -- I was going to heal myself! And I will! After I rest. [See?? He didn't want to overdo it! Isn't that kind of being responsible?
As for the leg issue... he glances down at it, but yeah how about we change the subject instead?]
But it's good to see you, too! I'm glad you're okay.
[That's 100% earnest, too.]
no subject
I'm glad you're okay too. That whole mess got pretty hectic.
[She looks over his injuries speculatively. The Paladin class does come with a very useful cure spell, but honestly she's exhausted. She's not sure she can muster enough energy right now. But at least she can try...]
Here, let me see if I can do something about those injuries...
[She's drawing on the last reserves of her strength for this cura and she can feel the spell drain the energy out of her. But she tries not to show her exhaustion and manages a weak smile. The irony of lecturing him about over doing it and then doing so herself helpfully escapes her.]
Better?
no subject
He breaks into a grateful grin, already looking a little more energetic than before.]
Yeah, sure am! Thanks, Alice. [But concern goes both ways! So--] How about you? Did you make it out okay?

ok but seriously, gagtags aside--
I lol'd. Then I was sad.
A) Church
After the second day there, Cloud has at least regained enough of his strength to move around, and on the third day he finds Ventus as he mills around, impatient to get out of this place and see this
oldnew city they've found themselves in. Recalling that the other blonde has been sleeping a lot, Cloud simply leans against the wall and plops down to sit on the floor next to the other hero.]Hey...how are you holding up?
no subject
Cloud! Hey! [Despite the enthusiasm in his attitude, Ven doesn't bound up like he normally would. It's an odd change for him, moving so little, but at the moment it's better than the alternative.] I'm fine. I just haven't fought that much in a while.
[Try twelve+ years. And even then he didn't fight for several days straight.]
How about you?
no subject
Nghhh, I still hurt all over. I've been in rough fights before but piloting that thing...it's hard to describe. It was like I could feel everything it could, and there was just so much noise. [He isn't sure how much of it was in his own mind though.]
I'll be fine I think. Jessie said I'd be okay with rest. I'm just glad I was able to turn the tide. Heh. Zack would be jealous.

[The name mentioned does grab his attention, but only slightly; as big and numbered as the worlds are, he doesn't expect a coincidence that huge, especially after coming to know and befriend another Terra.
Still--]
Oh, yeah? A friend of yours?

Chruch
She steps up next to him with a smile, before lowering herself so she's sitting next to him. It is a comfortable position to be in and it reminds her of when they were looking out over the city. That feels so long ago.]
Hey, how are you holding up?
[She has red mage equipped so she can heal him if he wants but she assumes others have already offered the same service.]
Church
Hey, Yuna! [He would normally give a nonchalant shrug at the question, but he's more or less trained himself lately to resist habitual motions. After learning the hard way, a few of the seemingly harmless ones left him sore for a couple hours.] I'm okay. But I think it'll be a little longer before I'm at a hundred percent again.
[In his mind, he's picturing a few days at the most; the severity of that bullet wound, and the fact that white magic can't touch it, hasn't really hit him yet.]
You look good, though.
Church
Yeah, I died in my last fight. I woke up here. I missed the end of the fight it would seem.
[It is weird saying it aloud but there really is no better way to phrase it. Her head tilts to the side for a moment.]
What happened before we woke up here? Do you know?
Church
[For a moment he stares at her, as if not comprehending -- because he doesn't, at first, until he abruptly remembers that no-death rule. Then Ven starts, shocked.]
Ah! You did?!
[He hesitates, gaze quickly dropping, and then after a moment remembers her question.]
...Oh -- uh, no, I'm not sure. After the fight at the hospital, I don't remember much. I passed out for a while.
[And this is where it gets confusing -- he's heard it referenced that there are two Yunas in this world, but he assumed that was only referring to the name, not in the literal sense. As far as he knows, he saw Yuna in the fight against the Ultima Weapon; so if she died, then...]
...Was... that how it happened? Because of the Ultima Weapon?
[Could he have done something better to prevent it?]

Fireworks
After each impressive display Manami applaudes softly, but at one particularly large firework he cheers,]
Kagiya~!
[He's not disturbing you, is he?]
Fireworks
...Well, okay, slightly, but only in the sense that it prompts Ven to glance over curiously. Once there's a lapse in the noise, he calls over.]
Heh! What's that mean?
no subject
It's just something you say when the fireworks are really good! ...I think there's some sort of history to it, but I don't really know, hehheh.
[He pauses and turns back to the sky as another set of fireworks goes off. Manami shouts,]
Tamaya~! [Then to the boy he adds,] You can say 'tamaya', too.

Ven.
Church
He's awake when K'pandolu approaches, but it's not until she speaks that he breaks from his idle examination of the clear sky.]
Oh, hey! [His smile's a relieved one. After that battle against Ultima, she was one of the several Heroes he was worried about.] I'm glad to see you! How're you doing?
[Said as though he's not visibly still a bit battered. Alice took care of most of his cuts and things, at least, but he still looks tired, and doesn't leap to his feet like he normally would; nah, leaning against this tree is much more preferable.]
Church
Well enough. [she's walking and talking, at least. That's as good a start as any.] I'm more worried about you. How are you feeling?

but today, she'd brought something. if he was sleeping still she would leave it beside him, warm soup she'd purchased in the town. it had smelled a little bland, but, that sort of thing was good when you were recovering or something... probably.
as she made her way inside the church, she looked at the spot she'd seen him last, surprised to see that he was awake -- ) Ven, Ven! ( she called, rushing over towards him. ) You are finally awake!
church
Meredy!
[Ven doesn't move from his spot -- or... at all, really, besides, the turn of his head -- but his expression radiates his usual energy.]
Oh -- yeah, I guess I've been out a lot, huh? [Enough that he's not even sure what day it is. Or how many days it's been.]
no subject
Ah... ( her gaze finally dipped downward, the container she'd been carrying looking a little worse for wear, some of the soup managing to splash out even with a lid on... ) So much was happening -- Ultima Weapon was so scary.
( she's moving much more carefully now, removing the food she'd brought from her bag, and laying it out. ) Here, for you.

Ven, how you've been?
no subject
Saori! Hey! [He doesn't jump up like he normally might, but there's a reason for that. Still, his smile's as bright as ever.] I'm getting by. Come to see the show?
no subject
[She sits down next to him. The fact he doesn't get doesn't escape her however.]
How's your leg healing up, by the way?
