Summary: The long-awaited meeting with Palitutu! This post will be updated as things evolve and will lead into the main event for the second Anniversary, Revelations. According to the predictions of a certain Heroes of Light, Ultima WEAPON shall be fought during the meeting, better be prepared. Trying to avoid the meeting is a bad idea, as Palitutu mentioned she will use that very WEAPON to destroy Aqures Ixen if the Heroes feel cowardly.

Between that first blast from the WEAPON that hit her robot while it was charging, and the Energy Prison, both pilot and robot are in bad shape. Chiaki cries out loudly as her life force begins to drain away, but she has faith that her friends will get her out of this. She's not about to die here. Not before she finishes things with Palititu. Her friends have defeated despair before in another world, and now they're going to do it again here.

[Things aren't looking good. Palitutu is partially focused on the airship, so climbing on board will make him too conspicuous. That, and if he waits until he's sure the thing won't crash and burn, it might be too late. His first choice would be to run under the cover of the heavy rain and black hooded cloak and join those who have decided to fight up close.

Deadpool is a good distraction just by existing. Ales will have to thank him later if he succeeds.

Ales pulls the hood even tighter over his snout to make sure Palitutu, Deweg, or Artemicion don't spot a pinprick of blue among the mud and rain. His small size puts him at an advantage despite the bulky electronics he carries with him. If the airship does manage to make it to the WEAPON in one piece, good. More things to distract the pilots as he works.]

[For good measure Sephiroth wound his right hand around the rope of the side of the ladder as Kidd yelled back with a confirmation, his gaze firmly fixed forwards on the WEAPON as they started to ascend.

He doesn't even seem to notice Lucrecia, or any others, as she just clambers up past him, his target is in his sights-

However a certain Laser ray from a materialized turret behind the latest Hero -Aang- is creeping closer and closer as they make also for the ladder. It'll put him, not to mention Kidd's ship, also in the vicinity if not dealt with. Damn.]

Catch you on the next pass!

[He turns Masamune so it's up against the backside of his arm, which still shimmers with charged energy, before immediately dropping the lesser distance back to the floor. As soon as he feels boots hit the wet ground Dash is sprung behind it. The effect to propel Sephiroth somewhat back into the air above the turret. If he's timed it right, if there were no other tricks-

Hellsgate powered up by his Deathblow-effect comes piercing down on top of the offending deployed weapon.]

[ Tear saw the attack coming, and knew there was nothing she could do to avoid it. Gritting her teeth, she braces herself for the oncoming attack as her voice continued to carry out her first melody, ready to transition to the next one...

Then suddenly Jade and Ace are before her, and for a split-second she falters as the flare strikes them all. Releasing a soft cry of pain, Jade's spell keeps her from falling to her knees as she might have otherwise. ]

Idiots! [ Just because she understood their reasons didn't mean she had to like it, and it takes significant effort to resist singing what her heart truly desired as the attack passes. If she was going to continue being a target for her supportive abilities, then the melodist had to make the most of them while she still could and ensure their efforts to protect her didn't go to waste.

Gasping for a few moments, Tear then straightens herself up to properly deliver the next song, one that would benefit everyone rather than just those who had tried to take the blow for her—Nameless Song.

But she's not done yet. As soon as she has the chance she casts Cura on Ace while casting him a stern look, returning to singing Boss Theme and waiting to deliver the song to stack on top of it. ]

[Rialynn, too, takes up her fiddle to play the Boss Theme. It was either that or her customized song that boosted the potential of Black Mages. If the effects stack, so much the better. At the least, she can keep the melody going if anything tries to interrupt Tear.]

[She moves to the opposite site of the battlefield as her fellow bard since she realizes it would be more than dangerous for the two of them to stand in the same general vicinity as one another.]

[...Wait, did Ramza just throw away his only weapon?! Horse droppings! Her hands are full of musical instrument or she'd toss him her rapier. Instead she has to satisfy herself with a weird little half-skip half-dance in his direction, hip-first, as she tries to offer up her rapier. Freelancers can fight with anything, and it's not like she can use it while she's playing anyway. Better than leaving him unarmed!]

[With all these buffs happening, Sparks was going to concentrate on firing as much as he can at the Weapon. Picking one side over the other seems to be working on it, so he aims for the right side, firing off as many Fire Elemental Beams as he can at it.]

[Johnny isn't going to wait to unleash Chaos Thrust at the left side. Not only is it his most powerful attack, it'll make him stronger for the rest of the battle. Besides, the thing was quickly killing Chiaki, so holding back wasn't an option.]

[Well, that sure was an attack heading his way. And Aang had to keep his dodging to things that wouldn't send him into the air or ruin delicate airship parts. So far, so good. ]

Guess I made them mad. Which way do we want to go?

[He's not sure he can maintain the dance while doing so, but he's going to use his Aerokinesis to give what lift and wind he can to the airship.]

[Tazendra heard Lucrecia, and translated that as 'keep attacking the left arm', especially as it had trapped Chiaki.]

Do try to pay attention!

[She was feeling a bit ignored. Hopefully smashing more bits of the left arm with a Thunder Slash would help.]

[Pyrrha is utterly undaunted by the sheer size of the Ultima WEAPON. She was trained to fight the creatures of Grimm, after all, and has fought things this large before. She has little trouble timing her dodges to avoid the missile and laser salvos, and since most of the others seem to have attacks on its main body taken care of, she's going to turn her attention to that turret behind them. Wheeling around on her chocobo, she commands it to charge, dodging left and right to avoid the lasers while she takes a series of precision shots with her rifle. And once she's within melee range, she vaults up and off her chocobo's back, transforming her weapon into its javelin form and jamming it deep into the turret's electronics.]

[Levy may not be much of a fighter, but she'll be damned if she's going to let everyone else confront Palitutu without doing her best to help. Energized by Tear's Nameless Song, she's got time to do a couple of things. First things first - she poses dramatically, one hand on her hip as she points the other directly at the sky.]

We! Are! Fairy Tail!

[Using the skill of the same name from her Custom Job, Levy doubles the attack and defense stats of herself and anyone else in the fight with a Fairy Tail guild mark. Looking around, she silently notes that it might be time for a recruitment drive. But for now, there's still work to do.]

And next... Solid Script: Quicksand!

[The word 'QUICKSAND' appears in midair as Levy intones it, floating forth and settling under the Ultima WEAPON's enormous girth. The ground begins to soften and churn, hopefully holding the monster in place and further slowing its movement.]

Jack had been looking for his opening to help, and the Left Side of the thing holding his friend in place is it. Peaceful solution, sure, until the instant that you're endangering a friend, and that thing will kill Chiaki if left alone. Mirage Dive sends two clones of himself with copies of his spear to attack at the Left Arm of the WEAPON, while Jack stays back, himself. With the number of area of effect attacks being slung around, he doesn't trust himself to not fall to friendly fire.

[Too far forward to really make it there in time to help Aang and those on the airship, he could only attack the WEAPON itself. Though with his multi-target abilities not nearly as effective, it was time to try something else.

With all the firepower being concentrated on the left arm, he too decides to press his luck up close and cast Break on the limb of the WEAPON.]

FIRE!

[Even though she was equipped with the Dragoon and Ninja jobs, Saori was focused on helping the rest of the crew fire and reload their shots. When she heard Twilight Sparkle ask for help, she looked up and shouted over the booms.]

We could always use runners to get ammo ready but any form of support is much appreciated! Healing, extra fire power and status buffs too, just in case.

[She looked out to check on the Heroes outside and their target.]

If you can, keep an eye out on them too just in case they...well you know.

The Libra cast on the left side reveals the exactly same information it revealed for the right side, only this time on the left side.

The combined attacks of all the Heroes of Light did manage to shake off the WEAPON’s grip on Chiaki and her robot, though it still left her with half her health only. The turret was heavily damaged by the attacks, but still clinging on to “life” with barely energy left. At least, it stopped attacking Aang as it was unable to. The quicksand did nothing to swallow the WEAPON, but it did keep its movement slowed down, making it somewhat easier to dodge the attacks. All in all, the left side started to show signs it was weakened, especially since most attacks had been focusing on it.

However, in a strange turn of event… Rather than pressing its advantage and finishing off what Heroes are wounded or having difficulties dodging the attacks, the WEAPON executed absolutely no attacks this turn. It was as if it had frozen. Perhaps the combined attacks of all the Heroes were wearing it down? Or maybe…

It will use its Laser skill to counterattack anyone attacking it with magical attacks, dealing medium damages.]

[The core of Ultima WEAPON is charging up for an augmented Ultima spell. It will use its C. Flare skill the counterattack anyone attacking it regardless of their type of attack, dealing heavy damages to the attacker and medium damages to anyone near them.

If both sides are still active when the countdown reaches 0, all Heroes of Light will die. If one side is still active when the countdown reaches 0, the might of the Ultima spell will be triple that of a regular one. If both sides are down when the countdown reaches 0, the might of the Ultima spell will be that of a regular one.

The crystalline heart at the core of Ultima Weapon is glowing, but this is the only cue there is as to what’s happening. For this unique occasion, the Ultima spell will be learnable by Blue Mages once it’ll go up in three turns.]

Magitek Turret

[The Magitek Turret self-destructs, glowing red for two seconds beforehand. Anyone in its immediate vicinity will suffer severe damages, whereas anyone within a ten-feet radius of the turret will suffer mid to low damages depending on their positioning.]


Furthermore, Bartz’s attempt to steal from the WEAPON shall eventually yield one positive result:

Stolen: Ultima Weapon
A glowing sword made of blue mythril in the middle and surrounded by transparent crystal.
It grows more powerful with each Job the user has maxed and the lower their health is.

[Well, that didn't bode well. Racing to the other side of the deck as the rope ladder, she grunted as the force of the blast sent her against the opposite railing. Yet with that intel on the left arm and seeing its weakened state after the numerous attacks against it, she didn't pause to summon any program just yet. Instead she opted to take out her tome again, casting Flare on the left side.]

[Sonic came to a skidding stop as the weakened left arm released Chiaki. He cocked an eyebrow as he noticed that the machine didn't attack them... but the core was glowing.]

Something's not right...!

[Once more, he charged for the left arm and performed a Homing Attack, only to be struck away with the Claw counterattack, skidding across the muddy ground.]

[Chrom is still trying to figure this thing out. TOO BAD HE ISN'T A TACTICIAN HO HO HO. What he does know is that attacking it now seems to result in a vicious counterattack, and that one of his allies isn't doing so well. Keeping Sentinel up in place, he lowers his sword and thrusts his left hand forward in Chiaki's direction.]

Cura!

[The healing magic washes over her and her robot bunny as Chrom grips his sword in both hands once more, prepared to take any attacks aimed at his fellow Heroes.]

Buh-bye turret-kun we hardly knew thee

[Selphie was within range of the turret when it used self-destruct. She realized it too late.]

HIT THE DECK!!!!

[Selphie pressed herself as flat to the ground as she could muster but it wasn't enough as she was sent flying backwards from the recoil. She flies back a good hundred feet and lands with a sickening thud before rolling to a stop. She's still conscious but just barely as her hands clench lightly.

Her back and arms are a bright, blistering red from burns as she tries to concentrate on casting Cura on herself.]

Chiaki, on the other hand, is pretty sure she knows what's going on here. Now freed from the energy prison, she's able to concentrate on watching the battle. And after seeing Lucrecia's Flare go unanswered, followed by Sonic suffering a counterattack, she has an idea of what's probably happening.

"It's changed its attack pattern. Hit the left side with magic. The right side is probably the opposite, so try physical on it. That's a pretty common boss fight trope on console RPGs."

Every so often, her gaming ways come in handy. And now that she's back up, feeling refreshed from Chrom's healing, and still under the effects of Haste, she lets loose with a Magitek Laser against the left side and a Magitek Missile on the right. That should confirm her theory.

"...Yup, that's it. Give it all you've got, everyone!"

Rukia nodded her head, shifting her stance. "Understood," she said, eyes narrowed on the target. She pulled back Yuki in exchange for her velociraptor, Kashikoiko. The dinosaur clicked in anticipation, hunkering low before it bolted forward, feet pounding the rain-slicked grass. It leaped at the right side with a Shield Bash, flinging itself physically against the enemy.

And dropping back to the ground with a frustrated squawk as it kicked its legs to get back to its feet. Once it was upright, its tail lashed, ready to strike again at Rukia's command.

[That attack hurt, but there was no affording to slow down now. Johnny didn't have much in the way of magic between Dragoon and Dark Knight, so that meant letting loose a Dragon Breath spell on the left side.]

Good.

[Physical attacks were much more satisfying than magic to Sparks, and right now he had a lot of aggression to let out. Never mind that fact that almost all of his Paladin and Magitek Knight attacks were magic based. Time to let the right side have it with a barrage of Smash Attacks from his armor.]

Oh, very well.

[Jade took some nasty burns from the Flare that hit Tear, but nothing that required immediate attention. The accusation of idiocy was only met with a smile and a raised eyebrow. At least he wasn't the biggest idiot here.

More importantly -- the fact the WEAPON stopped attacking is worrying, but Chiaki is probably right. They can't give the enemy time to recover. He'd better get as many attacks off as possible before he has to start healing again.

Jade proceeds to cast Holy twice on the left side. The spell is more accurate than Ultima and more powerful than his other elemental magic, making it the best choice.]

[ Seeing the core glow, Tear understood at once that there was no more time to waste. Taking a moment to first cast Cura on Jade in gratitude for his help, and to of course keep him standing, she closes her eyes to concentrate again.

This time she delivered Soul Voice and therefore doubled the effects of the already useful Boss Theme, melding the two songs together. From here she intended to put her efforts into carrying the two songs for as long as possible, unless the need for different one arose.

The endeavour would take immense willpower, which she fortunately had. Still, she opens her eyes to keep a careful lookout for anyone who might need more healing spells. ]
