Summary: The long-awaited meeting with Palitutu! This post will be updated as things evolve and will lead into the main event for the second Anniversary, Revelations. According to the predictions of a certain Heroes of Light, Ultima WEAPON shall be fought during the meeting, better be prepared. Trying to avoid the meeting is a bad idea, as Palitutu mentioned she will use that very WEAPON to destroy Aqures Ixen if the Heroes feel cowardly.

[Aang was already bounding up to Mary's airship. He could direct air currents to keep people out of the core's blast range, but he hoped he didn't need to. As he moved, his feet were starting to shape the Nameless Dance: between the Slow, Blind and Silent status effects on the WEAPON and its passengers, that should keep casualties to a minimum.]

[The attempt was made, at least.

K'pandolu runs as soon as she sees the glow, assuming it's Ultima. She skids to a stop and turns as soon as the beam goes off, a growl emerging from her throat. For her part, she casts a Thunder Jutsu, focusing on the left arm. The core's central, of course, but dealing with more than one part attacking them is a pain in the neck.]

[ The Libra cast on the right side revealed it had no particular weakness, but was susceptible to all and any attacks when attacked individually. It also revealed the sides protected the core from taking any damages.

And indeed, all attacks directed at the Core barely scratched it. Even spells as powerful as Ultima and Meteor hardly damaged it as the Left and Right Side seemed to be protecting the Core. However, when attacked individually the sides took massive damage. When attacked along with the Core though, it seemed as though they were taking only half the damage.

Nameless Dance partially worked, as the WEAPON grew slower. However, it seemed resistant to Blind and Silence. All other attacks dealt damages to the side—In particular the left side at this point. ]


Left Side
> Magitek Cell
[The WEAPON raises it left arm toward Chiaki and her Robot, trapping and holding them within an Energy Prison. It is impossible to use any spells or attacks from within the prison and Chiaki’s life energy is drained with each passing seconds. Likewise, the Left Side cannot do anything else while trapping Chiaki. If Ultima WEAPON’s hold on Chiaki is not broken within the next two turns, she will die.]

Right Side

[The WEAPON materializes a small turret behind the Heroes of Light—It roughly has the same resistance and life in it than any regular monster, but it lacks the means to defend itself. It will continuously fire a Laser Ray at Aang and anyone in his vicinity till dispatched.]

Core
> Shadow Flare
[The core of the WEAPON targets Tear with a very powerful Dark spell. This attack cannot be avoided and might deal severe damages. Anyone directly around Tear may be hit by the attack’s aura and suffer mid damages.]

[Lucrecia focused on reaching the top of the ladder, nodding once to Sephiroth as she passed him with tome tucked back in her pack. Once she was safely on deck, she called out as loudly as she could:]

Focus your attacks on the arms individually! Until we get them down the core will take no damage. Multiple-target spells only do half their normal damage. The right side has no weakness but is susceptible to all!

[Without being asked, she then casts Libra on the Left Side, and with her speed altered by Mad Scientist, the Core as well.]

[Quickly sizing up the situation, Jade teleports closer to Tear.]

I've got you, keep singing! [They need every buff they can get, and you can't get much better than a Bard's songs. Jade casts Curaga to keep her standing.

That left arm... He'd rather know whether it has weaknesses first, but with Chiaki's life in danger they can't afford to wait for the next Libra. Sped up by Haste, Jade proceeds to cast Holy on the left arm as soon as he can.]

[ Seeing his move fail, Ace contemplates his next step. A wide-range incantation like Ultima might not be capable of acting with the precision they need, so using his Half MP ability, he hopes for the cooldown period to pass quickly in order to cast more weaker-level spells.

Except with the danger looming on the horizon, he might not have the chance to do it anytime soon. Without a moment of hesitation, he throws himself in the way of the Shadow Flare, joining Jade in his efforts to shield Tear from the attack. Even if the spell cannot be avoided, the damage can be reduced using a decent magic shield - and with the combined powers of Black Mage and Summoner, he might as well act like one. Either way, Palitutu doesn't get to hurt his partner. ]

[Cloud's eyes go wide behind his visor as he sees the energy field go up around Chiaki. He can't be sure of what it's doing but he's sure it isn't anything good. Fortunately it doesn't look like he has to split the difference between continuing his assault and saving her, though saving her is the thing on his mind now.

Bringing his armor around he takes careful aim and then fires a few Magitek Missiles at the WEAPON, taking particular aim at the left side, banking on the sheer size of the thing to catch the barrage.]

[Kidd is happy that a few took her up on the offer to board her ship, but she's a little surprised at one particular passenger and his request. She doesn't hesitate though, giving Sephiroth a quick nod.]

Whatever you say, Colonel.

[Taking the helm, she turns the ship towards the WEAPON.]

Right, after you do what you do we're taking this thing down to the legs. Here's hoping we can trip it up like we did with the Diamond Weapon in the vision.

[The airship soars into the sky, getting as high and as close to the WEAPON as she dares.]

No sense in wasting a clear target! FIRE BROADSIDES!

[Twilight had taken to the skies once the WEAPON started attacking. However, she realized that she couldn't fight this thing where she was - her skills were quite high, but they weren't powerful enough.

Spotting Kidd's ship, she took off towards it and landed nearby the others.]

I hope you don't mind an extra passenger. I'm at a loss as to what I can do here...

[Sonic's fast, but seeing as so many people are under attack, he can't be fast enough to deal with everything. Chiaki is taking major priority here - what she's going through is not cool.]

Alright, you ugly bucket of bolts, pick on someone your own threat level!

[He hops out of his Magitek Armor and quickly recalls it before curling up into a ball and launching himself at the Left Arm, performing multiple Homing Attacks to damage it. And remember - that sucker tries to attack him, it's going to get a Firewall for its troubles.]

[Knowing that his multi-target attack did some damage to both arms is a small comfort, but his magic was hugely drained after the Meteor attack. For now, small, concentrated efforts would have to do.

He sees the turret materialize almost out of nowhere - completely unfair. But it's aimed at Aang, and it follows him as he travels up to the airship with other passengers. If that goes down, so will a method to hit it up close and personal.]

Don't let it shoot down the ship! Thundara!

[He strikes it once and calls out to the rest of the grounded Heroes.]

Didn't plan on it!

[Selphie falls directly into the fire line of the turret and while she manages to dodge a few of the attacks by rolling out of the way, she does start to take damage. It's enough to slow her down as she opts to use her In the Red skill to help out everyone nearby. It'll help to strengthen the attacks of those getting attacked as she beelines straight toward Aang.]

Aang! Get out of the way! [She mutters a quick incantation before thrusting her hands out in front of her. She's aiming for the turret.] Fira!

[ As much as she would like to, Sheena's too far in front to help Aang and the others, so she and her clone concentrate on helping Chiaki. Neither of them have been injured by the WEAPON, but they're both showing signs of wear and tear as they move and dodge to keep it that way--staying close enough to the thing to stay under its range of artillery.

But who knows how long she'll be able to keep that up?

Keeping an eye out on the others going for the left arm, the two ninja pull out Demon Seal, and using their mana, duplicate and wrap the arm within the circle of cards, detonating the Light-based attack when it's all clear. ]

[Well, that escalated quickly. Everything is fairly chaotic with the weapon and nearly all of the heroes throwing down everything they've got.
It's way to hard to keep track of everything, but that's fine. Bartz will just trust that his comrades have everything well in hand. So it's time to put his plan into action.

Wait, Bartz has a plan?

Well just this once, yes. Sort of. We'll see how it goes.

Step one, leave a clone behind to fight while he makes good use of his invisibility crystal.

Step two, while invisible use the fantastic natural agility and speed offered by both thief and ninja to get as close to the weapon as possible. Once there, Parkour will come into play. And then at last the final skill granted by the thief job.

Step three, profit.

{OOC: tl;dr, Bartz is trying to get close enough to use the Master Thief ability and steal something from the Weapon. Or Palitutu. Whatever. Honestly he's not picky. I'm sure this will take some time, but rather than clutter the thread with multiple comments, I'm just giving you his whole plan outright.}

[So far, this battle consisted of Duster running across the crowd in search of something to do. He was a considerable distance away from the Ultima WEAPON to make use of his Dragoon skills, he hadn't taken enough lessons to play the complex songs on his newly acquired concertina to be of much use. The only orders he has are to defeat the WEAPON, but other than that? Nothing.

With the first wave of Heroes rushing into the rain, Duster makes up his mind. There is a song that's easy to play: You're not Alone. He'll run up to the giant robot and play for his allies, aiding in battle when need be. First, he has to cross the plains.]

Everyone, let's go! [Mustering every small amount of leadership in him, Duster shouts to no one in particular before running after the others.]

Focusing on the left-arm over here.

[Vincent is still on the left-side of the Weapon, bringing himself to where the left-arm will be clear to his range. Shunshin having been activated, he calls up a clone! Both of them raise their firearm and target the left-arm with a burst shot. He's seen spells and shields like that before, and freeing Chiaki will take priority for the moment.]

[Seeing as the Excalipoor is about as damaging as a brittle stick, Ramza decides to just throw the whole sword at the Weapon. It shall free up his hands if nothing else.

He circles around to the left side of the weapon, where the majority of the Heroes are laboring to rescue Chiaki, and hurls the blade at the Left Arm.]

Deadpool can't help but facepalm. None of that worked. "Alright, stick to the plan. It still doesn't see me... wait a minute! That's it!"

Charging at the beast from the side, while everyone was focusing on attacking its arms, Deadpool went for... its ankle. With his Cyber Ninja's maxed skills, Deadpool's plan was to just hack at the stupid thing's foot until it came off and tumbled over.

Between that first blast from the WEAPON that hit her robot while it was charging, and the Energy Prison, both pilot and robot are in bad shape. Chiaki cries out loudly as her life force begins to drain away, but she has faith that her friends will get her out of this. She's not about to die here. Not before she finishes things with Palititu. Her friends have defeated despair before in another world, and now they're going to do it again here.

[Things aren't looking good. Palitutu is partially focused on the airship, so climbing on board will make him too conspicuous. That, and if he waits until he's sure the thing won't crash and burn, it might be too late. His first choice would be to run under the cover of the heavy rain and black hooded cloak and join those who have decided to fight up close.

Deadpool is a good distraction just by existing. Ales will have to thank him later if he succeeds.

Ales pulls the hood even tighter over his snout to make sure Palitutu, Deweg, or Artemicion don't spot a pinprick of blue among the mud and rain. His small size puts him at an advantage despite the bulky electronics he carries with him. If the airship does manage to make it to the WEAPON in one piece, good. More things to distract the pilots as he works.]

[For good measure Sephiroth wound his right hand around the rope of the side of the ladder as Kidd yelled back with a confirmation, his gaze firmly fixed forwards on the WEAPON as they started to ascend.

He doesn't even seem to notice Lucrecia, or any others, as she just clambers up past him, his target is in his sights-

However a certain Laser ray from a materialized turret behind the latest Hero -Aang- is creeping closer and closer as they make also for the ladder. It'll put him, not to mention Kidd's ship, also in the vicinity if not dealt with. Damn.]

Catch you on the next pass!

[He turns Masamune so it's up against the backside of his arm, which still shimmers with charged energy, before immediately dropping the lesser distance back to the floor. As soon as he feels boots hit the wet ground Dash is sprung behind it. The effect to propel Sephiroth somewhat back into the air above the turret. If he's timed it right, if there were no other tricks-

Hellsgate powered up by his Deathblow-effect comes piercing down on top of the offending deployed weapon.]

[ Tear saw the attack coming, and knew there was nothing she could do to avoid it. Gritting her teeth, she braces herself for the oncoming attack as her voice continued to carry out her first melody, ready to transition to the next one...

Then suddenly Jade and Ace are before her, and for a split-second she falters as the flare strikes them all. Releasing a soft cry of pain, Jade's spell keeps her from falling to her knees as she might have otherwise. ]

Idiots! [ Just because she understood their reasons didn't mean she had to like it, and it takes significant effort to resist singing what her heart truly desired as the attack passes. If she was going to continue being a target for her supportive abilities, then the melodist had to make the most of them while she still could and ensure their efforts to protect her didn't go to waste.

Gasping for a few moments, Tear then straightens herself up to properly deliver the next song, one that would benefit everyone rather than just those who had tried to take the blow for her—Nameless Song.

But she's not done yet. As soon as she has the chance she casts Cura on Ace while casting him a stern look, returning to singing Boss Theme and waiting to deliver the song to stack on top of it. ]

[Rialynn, too, takes up her fiddle to play the Boss Theme. It was either that or her customized song that boosted the potential of Black Mages. If the effects stack, so much the better. At the least, she can keep the melody going if anything tries to interrupt Tear.]

[She moves to the opposite site of the battlefield as her fellow bard since she realizes it would be more than dangerous for the two of them to stand in the same general vicinity as one another.]

[...Wait, did Ramza just throw away his only weapon?! Horse droppings! Her hands are full of musical instrument or she'd toss him her rapier. Instead she has to satisfy herself with a weird little half-skip half-dance in his direction, hip-first, as she tries to offer up her rapier. Freelancers can fight with anything, and it's not like she can use it while she's playing anyway. Better than leaving him unarmed!]

[With all these buffs happening, Sparks was going to concentrate on firing as much as he can at the Weapon. Picking one side over the other seems to be working on it, so he aims for the right side, firing off as many Fire Elemental Beams as he can at it.]
